| Vet recommendation in L.A Hi, I wanted to know if anyone in southern california has a recommendation for a good vet. I live in Tarzana and have been using a vet in Encino that I am not happy with. Any suggestions? |

| I go to VCA in West LA and I know they have other branches. I'm really happy with them.

| Sherman Oaks.... Hiya, I take my 3 to Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group. Go see Dr. Ollman or Dr. Scanlon, Dr. Scanlon does all holistic veterinary medicine, including acupuncture. They are very nice there. There is one vet I would avoid there, Dr. Mesa, but the rest are all great. They are right in Sherman Oaks. |

| I used to go to VCA in West LA. I felt like they were constantly ripping me off. I took my girl there for an estimate on an operation for a small hernia. They told me $1700!!! On top of it, they told me I had to do it within the next 2 days or she would die. I found that VERY hard to believe. So I went for a second opinion at Mission Animal Care in Granada Hills. They told me that her hernia was not such a big deal and couldn't understand why they would have told me such a lie. I still got the surgery and it only ended up costing me $450 with meds and all!!! My girl is perfect! That was not the only time either. I had to get my boys baby teeth pulled and they gave me some outrageous esitmate. I ended up getting his teeth pulled at the same place my girl had her surger and only costing me a total of $150. I also didn't realize how much more I was paying for shots until I started going to Mission Animal Care. I'm not trying to bash your vet at all!! I just thought you should know that most of the things they do there are so incredibly unnecessary. Sorry so long!! My suggestion is Mission Animal Care. They're really, really good...and trust me, I have a hard time trusting my babies to anyone's care. Good luck! fhew!!

| I live in North Hollywood and in Panorama City (sometimes ).. and I take all three to my vet in Studio City it's called Veterinary Medical Center it is on Ventura and Colfax. They are nice there. I would go to Dr. Steve Aboulafi or however you spell his name hehe.. I forget the name of the Female Doctor I do not like, She told me Ginger had ringworm on her ear, and a month later called me back and said she made a mistake.. and gave me these awful meds.. but Dr. Steve saved Ginger when I almost lost her. |
