You might check with YTCA for breeders in the DFW area. Any of the Texas YTCA breeders should be able to assist you in finding a reputable yorkie breeder. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club |
Since you're in Texas.....go to the YTCA.org page then to Regional Clubs.....you can then access the Bluebonnet Yorkshire Terrier Club or the Yorkshire Terrier Club of Greater Houston.....both have a breeder referral contact....... |
I know this is an old thread, but hopefully this helps someone else. What I don't understand is why you would even WANT a dog that's going to be 2.5 pounds as an adult. No one, not even your breeder, can guarantee you how big your dog will get. A range for the breed is standard and maybe even an average for their puppies, but saying he would only weigh 2 pounds should have been your first warning. Never buy a puppy from a site that has a "buy it now" button a REAL breeder won't just sell their dog to anyone. They will want you to fill out an application to learn more about you or talk to you first. Otherwise they have no idea who their baby is going home with, does that sound like a responsible breeder to you? Trust me, I know the heartache of a sick puppy. Unfortunately for me, I didn't do my research on breeders until AFTER I bought my first puppy. She arrived sick and died within 3 days. I went to the news and am doing all I can to prevent this tragedy from happening to anyone else. |
LuvMyDoggies I have actually purchased 2 yorkies from Lorane Matlock and Jimmy ( family member) that has "yorkiepuppielovers". My first one was Harley and we absolutely love him. I have had him 3 years now and he has been fantastic. Davidson was purchased 2 1/2 years ago from Jimmy at "yorkiepuppielovers". Davidson had a bit of food aggression when I first got him but very quickly got over that when he realized he didn't have to fight for his food. I do think they underestimate the weight b/c both my dogs have gained 3lbs since I brought them home. they weigh 8 and 7 lbs. I was fortunate enough to live close enough to go pick them both up in person. So sorry for y'all that have had bad experiences. I will most definitely be more cautious when I am ready to buy another. |
