i got coco when she was 5 months. she was (and still is) such a little sweetie. advise about placing a new puppy with your own? hummmm i wish i knew the personality of yours. i usually hold my new baby in my arms and let the other dogs come and sniff her. i don't place them down with the other ones for awhile. i slowly let them play together. it seems to work but you have to go with their personalities. my muffie, she is the mother hen, she always lays on top of the puppies (nicely) to let them know she is the boss. i watch very carefully to make sure she doesn't hurt them. |
I hope that if I do get Coco's sister she will be just like Coco (a Coco Jr :D ) she sounds like a great little fur-kid in all areas. My Tiffy is very tiny and very friendly with everyone (except cats, she is the barking queen when she sees them passing by the garden) when my mom brings Ninna over (our part time other yorkie that belongs to my mom) she runs to me to be carried because Ninna is very jealous and thus very rough with her. But then when I take her to my best friends house to play with her mini-pin they have the time of their lives, Tiffy at 2.2 pounds totally bosses around the bigger dog and even steals her toys and treats and they run around for hours... so it is going to be totally depending on the new sibling personality  Tell me more about Coco's potty training process? I thought that it would be easy with a second because they will just go where the other ones go? I know that was not the case with Ninna but I thought she was the minority? |
potty training......uggggg. i will have to admit, i am not on my dogs all of the time regarding potty training and i was not consistant. i hate to yell at them. coco was potty trained by 10 months. she still has accidents in the middle of the night and she knows what she is doing is bad b/c she hides. i think all in all, they are right on schedule with other puppies i see here on yt. most have said the potty training is completed by 10 months. |
I am so afraid of the potty training!! We got Tiffy when she was 6 months and she was already 100% potty trained. Did you feel that it was easier with Katherine's dogs since they are kenneled as opposed to underfoot? Do you still crate Coco at nite? or at all? I'm curious to know how she feels about her crate. I know my mom's yorkie is terrified of it, of course its difference she is from a puppy mill:( |
all of mine did very well in the crate. my husband started to let coco lay with him in the bed while he read. they would both fall asleep in bed. vinny did well but he cried for about 15 mins then stopped. my friend came to visit me so i placed vinny in bed with us so that the crying would not wake them up, so now he is in the bed with us. pebbles is in the crate, no crying and is still sleeping in the crate at night. potty training for yorkies is a delima regardless. if you look at the "training" section here, so many people come here seeking advise on how to train their yorkie. i think if you are consistant she will potty train quickly. they do use the pee pad very well but i want mine to go outside. |
You are so right, all yorkies are so different. Hopefully whatever pup comes to our house will be sweet, smart and most importantly HEALTHY! Did you have any additional tests done on yours? Any health issues? How about the teeth? |
none yet. i am waiting for them to turn a year old before i do any test. coco has retained baby teeth and the vet stated i can wait another 6 months to see if they will fall out on their own (this is not a genetic fault). lots of dogs have retained baby teeth. |

No website???? I tried to view her website...has it changed??? |
She has a cute website layout. I noticed she doesn't seem to have a "type" that she breeds for. I'm glad you're having fun w/ your little girl.....I've got puppy fever myself! |
Ok...i figured it out Quote:
Cute puppies......but, I agree with YR....wow...a $6000 Yorkie???? Wonder why that is???? Size? or show prospect???? I will keep searching |
$6,000 for a puppy is retarded imo! I'd only consider that for a show prospect that was held back by the breeder until it was around 6 months +. Don't waste your money otherwise. |
This breeder doesn't even show does she? Looks to me like a purely pet production. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Deana, I believe you're right. That's my impression anyway. |
I just thought it was me....LOL Quote:
I have been out of the loop for several weeks.....working my butt off....and thought I had lost touch with pricing on show puppies....but then realized that this breeder probably does not even show.... I have talked to several show breeders and they weren't even this price ?!?!?! for the prospects that they sell...... Oh well, guess to each his/her own.....;) |
