are contracts important? Can I just say that I am so grateful that I found a reputable breeder near my home town. She was so professional. She presented me with a contract and disclosed all info about the dog's health records. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy a dog without a contract and guarantee. I am interested in what others think. |

When I was looking for Venus I suppose I got really lucky! As I looked at some of the websites, I couldn't see buying, paying for, and flying a dog I'd never seen personally to me. So I kept looking for local. Thats before I found YT. I finally did find a breeder within an hour of me, close to Pensacola FL. Her puppies all looked happy, healthy and playful. And she was a very healthy girl. Not one problem with her health. But it really could have been disasterous, as I didn't know a lot about picking out healthy yorkie, although I had one already. I've seen so many nightmares on here with puppies, and I certainly agree, we DO need to warn others of bad breeders! Its a must. If I ever want another yorkie, and my breeder has quit breeding, I will buy from a good YT member! This place has taught me so much in the short time I've been here. I couldn't learn this much in all the books about yorkies there are to read! |
aww poor baby! |
Thanks for letting us know. I too was looking at Monique's site but there is just too much negative stuff adding up... |
I don't know what has happened recently, but my MIA came from Seaside(she's about 2.5 now) and everything was just as Monique said. I still get a phone call from Monique about every 6 months or so checking up on her. I know several other Seaside pups are on YT and have been ok as well. You just never know. |
I would bet anything that the CKC she is registering with is the Continental Kennel Club. The reason I say this is that the CKC does not charge a breeder to register a litter. NOTHING! Not a cent. I bet she charges more if she sells a puppy with registration too. |

There is nothing wrong with Stanley but I just don't agree with the way she runs her business. If you read one of the old posts, a YT member had actually visited her and said the conditions at that house are disgusting with dogs running around everywhere. I've only had Stanley for about 9 months. I have not received one phone call or e-mail from her in that time. I'm not mad, I have a healthy baby...but it would've been nice to have someone to guide me when I first got him. I called her quite a few times after he came home and I never got a call back. |
Seaside Yorkies in Miami Florida..bad breeders!!!!! I just put down my little girl this past Thursday. I had purchased her at Seaside Yorkies in Miami Florida last year. She was only 1 year & a month. My baby had a soft palate defect and suffered from recurring infections. Two months after getting her she started with what seemed like respiratory infections, she had antibiotics on and off. She had x-rays and pneumonia several times. I e-mailed and got cold response to take her to the vet she used. I did and the vet referred me to Miami Veterinary Specialists. She was scheduled for an endoscopy. The Dr. discovered that she had a short soft palate defect. The food that she ate would go to her nose and create an infection. Once the infection might clear up it would resurface because the soft palate defect would again cause another infection. The dotor tried an experimental operation to elongate the soft palate using her own mouth tissue. The surgery was not sucessfull and he told us that nothing else could be done for her and she would continue with infections and have a bad quality of whatever life she would have left. My little girl lost weight. She was weighing 3 1/2 pounds before we put her to sleep. It was such a loss for us. My husband cried. I hadn't seen him cry in years. We are devastated and angry that she was sold like that and that she suffered most of her short little life. Please be careful with these breeders. It's a big hearache if youa re an animal lover. |
Are you her daughter who sells the Maltese's???? Quote:
I purchased my yorkie back in Oct. 2006. I am not going to get into how the congenital condition my puppy had gave us no choice but to put her down. Or how badly we have been treated. I surprised that the gallery of past satisfied customers and puppies are the same pictures that have been these over a year at least. Are these are the only clients that are happy? Who knows. Thank GOD that your dog has no problems so far......... may it continue with good health. Also, the problems that ex-clients are having is that after our dogs have health or other problems, Monique and her clan disappear. It's great to hear from a breeder when every is going well, it's when there is a PROBLEM that contact from the breeder is NEEDED. |
Thanks for the head up. I think it's so important for people to let us all know these things. |
The cut in his ear is quite obvious. I'm sorry. Hind sight is 20/20, but if you had come here first, you would have been able to read other threads/posts about people that have had even worse issues than you through Seaside Yorkies. Sorry about your experience.....it's all too common one in our breed. |
