breeder I was sure you had told her about the problems...but that was her response back to me. I hope you are able to recoup some or all of your expenses...good Luck |
oh man that sucks !! You do have 2 adorable yorkies but that's just wrong that they're selling so many with problems. I would report them AND try to recoup some of your money - maybe they'll think again before they breed those same poor dogs...and you know they still are - people like that just don't care - all they see is $$ signs in every puppy sold. |
Omg That Person Is Sick :(!!! How Are Ur Dogs Doing Now? |
Thanks for asking. Roxy had her first LP surgery in Aug 06 and then a second LP surgery in Nov 06. She is a BRAND NEW Girl. I can't believe how great she is doing. She must have been in pain and/or discomfort, b/c she is doing things she never did before and she has so much more confidence. TJ is also doing well. He will have his LP surgery in May, but I am sure all will go well with him too! ;) |
Well, I just spoke with my Groomer and she told me that another family from their town had bought a male pup from Brylaur and after spending $4000 in Vet bills to try and save him, he died at nine months. They did an autopsy and ALL of his organs were that of an old, old dog (Vet's guess would be of a 13 year old). PLEASE be cauious with Brylaur IMO I would never purchase from them ever, ever, ever! |

This is so sad and this person needs to answer for what they've been doing to people!:( :thumbdown |

No need to be sorry. The male pup was 9 months old when he died. They did an autopsy, and the Vet said that the pup was so sick and that his organ were so damaged - like you would see in a much older sick dog. Judging by the organs, he would have said they belong to a dog around 13 years of age (but the pup was only 9 months old). ...make sense now ;) |
That's terrible :( Thank you for responding. |
Being from Maine and a breeder myself it pains me to read your story. I'm very sorry you were taken in by this woman. I know she's advertising "designer" pups now as well in the uncle henry's magazine. When you first took home your puppies and had them checked out by your Vet, why didn't he find anything wrong with them then? Or did the problems all start as they got older? Its to bad that the State can't somehow shut her down. Maybe if enough people complained about her they would. |
Well, thanks for responding to my thread. It does sadden me to read your post and that you know who this woman is. I could cry. I had no idea what she was all about until everything just started to unfold. Things started to happen one by one with TJ and Roxy and as they grew. First TJ had his GI problems that we can now say is IBD. That started as soon as I got him. Then Roxy's CT started and then a few months later her LP and then TJ's LP, along with the other defects. I just had them both tested for their Bile Acid. I am just praying now that the results are ok. :( They show no symtoms, but b/c of what I have found out about the other pups, well, I just wanted to get them tested to make sure they are ok. I wish there was a way to SHUT them down. I keeping looking at their website and how disgusting that place looks like. I feel so bad for the animals living there! And for the life of me I can't figure out how these people think it is safe to have little Yorkies running around with Horses (of all sizes), goats, pigs, etc...I can only imagine what that place is all about |

I also wanted to tell you that even though I know what you've and they been through is hell that your Yorkies are beautiful. You know the weird thing is that we get calls for puppies all the time from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York people. They tell us that the reason they are looking in Maine is because they don't trust the breeders in their State. That Maine has this reputation for having honest people. Well your story just goes to show everyone what I already knew and that is that there are crooks and bad breeders everywhere. I wish you and your puppies the best. :) |
Well...here the lastest. The results from the Bile Acid Test - NOT GOOD  http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92003 |
Hello Everyone. We have been sent a link to this thread from several people encouraging us to post. I'm not much of a public speaker. We received loads of emails and sent several replies. We also asked for copies of medical reports from the Veterinarian that we never received. Our Veterinarian is great and we have been with him for 25+ years. He did an exam on both of these babies prior to them leaving our home and I can assure you if he detected anything they would have not gone anywhere, they were sent home with his written exam. We listen 100% to our Veterinarian and follow his recommendations, any problems we take the medical reports directly to him and he will talk with the other Veterinarian involved, he's great. Emails were sent after Roxy's surgery and at that point we stopped getting anything from the new owner. And still never any medical reports. As far as the 9 month old that died after $4,000.00 in medical bills, I read this here. No reports from the new owners. I'm pursuming this was recent and went back and checked the litter we had in the fall and the one early spring and our records show there were no puppies sold to long island during that time frame. We are a very small in home breeder and we don't have very many litters per year. We use to show in confirmation and obdience when we got started with dogs over 25 years ago and now we just do not have the time to show in open, more 4-H stuff. We are more that happy to answer any questions. We are on dial up so getting on this site isn't always easy and we do lose the connection a lot. |
