I just signed Bleu up for the Wellness plan last week after taking him on a trial visit 2 week prior. I really like the one here in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. And even better, the wellness plan covers all his shots, deworming, fecal floats and visits for the rest of the year. :D I tried another vet prior to taking him there and she was VERY unfamiliar with the breed and gave downright strange advice:eek: , but the people at Bansfield are very helpful and loving to my baby:p . |
just found out that some meds cheaper in 1800 petmed so if there is something u need to repeat like dewormer or heart worm chewable pills might as well get them there , 1 heartworm pill is like 10$ petmeds 6 for like 25$ i think something like that, i know thats what i'll be doing |
My dogs on the wellness plan. All i can say is i hate goin there but im stuck on this 1 yr contract. I hate him an the whole staff there except this one chick. The one i go to is in Sugar Land, Tx. out skirts of houston on hwy 59 and sweetwater. |
HMMM I always hear everybody talking on here about Petsmart and Banfields. Our petsmart here is different. No Banfield. What they have is one of the local vets comes in 2 times a months and does preventitive care. No sick dogs allowed. if you bring a sick dog they tell you that you must go to a different vet and they will not treat. I guess this seems harsh but I'm guessing it has to due that they are only there 2 days a months and would not be available for followup and stuff. Anyways ... I find it GREAT for routine stuf and the Vet is SO NICE. I wish I could use them all the time for regular vaccinations and stuff but scheduling doesn't permit me to use them except about 25% of the time:aimeeyork |
i'm locked in on a 1yr wellness plan. the vet is ok. the staff sucks. they do a horrible job hiring people that are pet friendly. it seems like the mcdonalds of vet services. |

Which one do you go to? I've went to the one in Moorestown a couple of times with my parents dogs, and they seemed nice. |
i go to moorestown. they angered me when romeo had his teeth extracted. i never crate him and they promised me if i was there first they would do his procedure first. i was there 15 min b4 they opened and was first. after phone calls every hour they kept pushing me off. saying he's fine don't worry, he's next. they didn't get to him until after 5pm! he sat there all day drugged up. then they did a rush job on him. i was pissed. i told them just be honest with me. if they were too busy i would have picked him up and brought him back later. they lied and said he was finished when he didn't even go in yet. when i picked him up he was so over drugged. they were insensitive to me and romeo. i know he was scared to death. he shook and whined for hours. he suffered for no reason. |

How horrible!!! I'm so sorry you and Romeo had that experience! When does your contract expire so you can go to a good vet?? On a side note....I'm so surprised that me and you haven't ran into each other at that Petsmart! :p Seems like we're always there. |

Your Dog is Who, Again? I used to take my puppy to a small vet in Pennsylvania while I was living there. I have to say that he only went two times and all the staff loved him and hated to see him leave but we were moving to Maryland and there was no way I could keep him going to that vet. The entire staff knew his name like I said we only attended this place twice. The vet practice had three diferent doctors whom all love and knew Pooh as well. When we moved to Maryland we had a PetSmart nearby so we decided to take Pooh to Banfield. Well the first time we found it to be ok. We went back again and there was a different doctor that vaccinated him then the first time we had went. I thought ok they have multiple vets here like they did in PA. Well on our third visit we had the same doctor from the first visit again. I asked her how many vets they have working at this particular Banfield and she said that she was the only one and the reason for the replacement the last time was because she was out of town at a conference and had someone covering for her, which was fine until I found out they lost all records of Pooh having his shots when the replacement vet was there and I had to pay for them all over again. I understand mistakes do happen so I continued to take Pooh there and everytime we go she asks me "Who is your dog, again?" and I reply "Pooh". I mean I see her on a regular basis and I feel like she doesn't even care to know Pooh like they did in PA and I miss that. |
I know I've responded to this thread before, but I wanted to share an experience I had yesterday. I had to go to Petsmart yesterday after work to get food for Sadie. When I was at the checkout, one of the vet techs looked up and saw me. She waved & then came over. She wanted to ask me where Sadie was (she called her by name), why she wasn't with me, said they haven't seen her in a while, asked me how I was, asked me how my mom was (she's gone with me a couple of times to take her in). She said how much they loved Sadie. And she knew that Sadie wasn't due for anything until next spring, so they wouldn't see her in a while, unless I brought her to the store with me. Then she said if I needed anything, to let them know! I'm sorry that some have had bad experiences w/Banfield. But I think it's like any human doctor. Some are good and some are bad. I happen to love mine. I'm not trying anyone to convince anyone to go there if you don't want to. When I was trying to pick a vet for Sadie, I was told that if I felt comfortable with one, to use it, and if I felt uncomfortable with one, not to go back. |
