Buyers beware / "reville regestered" dogs/ have bad genetic grade #4 patelas i've had an heart breaking terrible experience buying a yorkshire terrier pup from pat coburn of "reville registered" in kentucky. She does not back any of her health guarentee's as posted.i paid 2,250.00 for a champion sired male pup of top show quility.this pup arrived skin and bones. I had 3 different vets examine the pup. They felt the pup was from a puppy mill.i was horrified! They all adressed the fact that the pup had genetically grade #4 patelas. The worse possible joints to have. He will need surgery to have both back knee's replaced. One vet which was a board certified surgeon on knee's. Told me to return this pup for this is not acceptable in any breeds standard of ethics. It would cost over 2 thousand dollars to replace his knee's.i sent this information to the breeder as requested. She will not answer her phone now or return my emails to address these problems.she said all yorkie's have this.....she totally misrepresented herslf to me...... Pat coburn has 21 dogs and puppys listed on puppy find.... A total of 30 thousand dollars adding up all the dogs listed.....buying a puppy from pat has turned into a nightmere for our family! She is a kentucky puppy mill of dogs of genetic problems judging from the pup i recieved.....ron from naples, fl |
You need to post this under breeders review |
So sorry for you...Make sure you post in breeder talk.. |
I bought a champion sired male from her also. The dog that I purchased was a grown male and he died of heartworms about 3 months after I purchased him. When I contacted her about it she only said " I don't have any dogs with heartworms here, because I have walnut trees around my kennel and I worm with Panacure 2 times a year." Now anyone that knows anything about worms especially heartworms -- would know how this statement sounded to me and to my Vet. You are right---she will not warranty any of her dogs. It is a "Buyer Beware" situation. I have heard from multiple people about her ethics. |
welcome to YT...sorry that it had to be under such a bad situation...and sorry that you are having to go thru this. |
MY EXPERIENCE WITH PATSY I purchased a female for show out of her champion male around 2 years ago and at 8 months she had LP 4 in both back leg's I TOOK KIKI TO 2 DIFFERENT VETS with both confirming the diagnosis this is out of the same ch male that Ron bought his boy from I still have my vet records and a copy of the reg to prove I had bought this girl and the contract Patsy did purchase the girl back but we only live about 45 minutes apart but still denied my vet reports and told me both vets were wrong Patsy also told me she had never ever had LP in her lines As of today I was sent an email from Ron the op where she has called me deceitful and basically trash because I told him I would help him if I could and she is very unhappy with me which pushed me into writing this She told Ron she never had LP in her lines and I knew better maybe I should have stayed out of it but this young man was done very wrong and paid way to much for an unhealthy dog of 8 months and all he wanted was for her to make things right and if she had I would have never ever posted this or gotten involved I could go even deeper into detail but I choose to just keep to the subject at hand I am in no way being deceitful and I am offended by this accusation of her's I am the one who can prove my story At one time I thought very highly of Patsy and her breeding program and her dogs I once had a very wise show lady tell me who knows who she is to stay away from this breeder that good things were not said about her and I should have listened but everything she ever told me has stuck and I try to do much better even though I feel I still have a lot to learn I am at least learning the right way to do things and to be responsible for what my lines are and what I produce |
selling sick dogs on puppy find this is terrible, and breeders like her give breeders a bad name.. did the OP buy this dog without visiting the kennel or doing research first? that is a lot of money for a dog... was it shipped? buyer beware for sure of this nasty lieing breeder.. those poor doggies in her care .. a true greeder at reville regestered...someone please stop her from breeding and selling sick dogs please:thumbdown |
To those who have had this experience with this breeder, I feel you should bring a small claims action to Court. There is no way, anyone should get away with this. If she had been willing to try to make things right or even acknowledged that the vets were right, then I would not advocate this. There is no way to stop a person like this unless we as pet lovers AND consumers take steps to put a stop to this. Keep all documentation and vet reports, and file a small claims action. Even if you do not win, if this woman has to jump through hoops, then she is going to think twice about continuing this type of breeding/selling. Sounds like she is in it for the money and not for the love and care of the breed. I work in the Courts here in Calif, and I believe there is a good chance you would win an action and maybe at least recover your outlay of money. |

and many conversations with the breeder but that still does not make what she has done ethical and she is a show kennel and he thought because he was buying from a show exhibitor he was safe well wrong i just wish i had known maybe i could have prevented his heatache i just can't get over the fact that she sold him a 2.2 pound eight month old dog for show!! much less the health problems this dog has other than lp |
I got ripped off too Well i bought a maltese from patsy. He was supposed too be tiny. He weighs all most 7lbs and has hair like a poodle. She had told me she would give me another puppy but all ways came up with an excuse. Even tried to send her more money on a more expensive one so at least i could have one i could use. I care for the maltese boy but his hair is so kinky and wirey. When i got him she really came on as a nice person and i believed every thing she told me. She knew he had bad hair but shipped him anyway telling me if he didn't straighten out or produce pretty pups she would replace him. Well he has done neither. After many months of trying to get her to work with me i put a bad review of her on puppyfind. She then got an attorney to send me a letter with a threat of a law suit for slander if i said anything else bad about her. She got my 1500.00 plus 250.00 shipping and now she wants more of my money. So all you that give bad reviews on her better beware you may be next. There is nothing nice about this lady. I see she just keeps taking peoples money |

even a replacement dog would not be good for breeding.. jmo |
Well yes you are right. I now don't want any of her lines. I tried to get her to send my money back. I tried everything with her. She knows how to get around a person. Just kept promiseing me but never done what she said she would do. I wonder if akc would help. |
Well in two minutes I can get an attorney letter. If you know an attorney or even pay one a minimum amount, he will send such a letter. It would be better if you went to an attorney for a consult, but better yet, file your own suit. In each county there is free legal advice and help. You can file and bring her arse to Court. I'm with the other person. Don't give her any more of your money. She is not reputable and you will not get a good pup most likely. How sad there are such people ! |
WELL I HAVE VET RECORDS to prove what has happened patsy uses her attorney alot to threathen people i know of another she sent a letter to like i said i use to respect her alot but after reading about how many people have been taken by her it is sad and i hope she changes things but i do not see that happening and a maltese with curly wire hair it would make me wonder if there was not an oops breeding have you had him dna'd to make sure he has the right parents because i know her daughter sells mixed breeds |
