Should I???? I have been studding out my Yorkie and someone asked to breed my Yorkie with their shih tzu. Is this bad? |
No, I would not if I were you. What would be the point? What would you be trying to achieve? |
Yes it would. |
I wouldnt do it. There are enough mixes at the shelters why contribute to it |
I wasn't sure, i looked on the internet and it seemed like a lot of people liked them and wanted them. I wasn't sure if it was bad for my dog to mate with another breed. |
Their called shorkies and they are cute enough but do you want to breed a designer dog? Does the females owner know what she doing? Id hate for someone to have someone having puppies because they are "cute". |
I haven't talked to her much, she just asked today. I will find out why. But would it do anything to my baby? |

it would not hurt your dog if you did stud him as long as all the health test have been..because dogs can get std's. some people will tell you no to do it b/c its mixing and their opinion is that mixing is wrong some people will say go for it, they are adorable puppies and they are popular and they sell very quickly (i have a friend that had a litter 2 weeks ago and 3 out of 5 are spoken for already) its what you want to do..no one else matters but it is good to educate yourself first on breeding and so forth |

I wouldn't do it. It won't hurt your dog, but IMO there are enough mixed breeds out there and people dont' need to be creating more. |

well there is a thing called supply and demand..if people didnt want the designer breeds people wouldnt be mixing at the rate they do. and i would think most peopple who do breed enjoy the breeding and the puppies and the money is a plus. but of course people breed them because people want them, thats why anyone breeds. of course purebred breeder breed to keep the standard and have additional puppies for themselves but they also sell the puppies because they dont want to keep 5 puppies everytime. and if people didnt breed dogs then other families wouldnt have the opportunties to have dogs they desire. how many members are on here? thousands and almost all of them have yorkies, most have multiple yorkies. if people didnt bred to sell to the public then i dont think their would be many people on this forum. and that would be a shame let me add that i do not agree with puppy mills at all.. i agree there are alot of mixed dogs in the pounds that deserve good homes but are they desirable? most arent. whenever i visit the shelters here its nothing that i would consider (just being honest)..sometimes on petfinder i will see really great looking dogs but they are usually not local and they still charge the same amount as if purchasing from someone who bred them..also once the shelter actually approves you, which face it doest happen when there are kids involved, you will most likely bring home a young adult or adult with some possible baggage..i'd personally perfer the puppy with no baggage who can grow with my family and not the other way around...jmo |
