I have no idea who you are missy, but reading this thread, and those comments. Wow...would make a newbie wonder if they want to be here..

Good luck on this litter, nor matter how it happend. I am sure all will be ok, sounds like you do have lots of good support.

Also while reading, was very glad to see that person was banned..

I am so glad that there are more YTers that are so understanding and try to help others, and have so much compansion..that is what I signed up for.

Oh my gosh, Missy! I just read your PM about Baby - I had no idea! Where the heck have I been, lol!!! CONGRATULATIONS to her, I know that she is going to be a FANTASTIC mommy to these babies, as are you! I am just sooo excited for you and her both!

Also, I read a few (not alot) of the replies to this thread, and I have to say, a few of them really ticked me off I understand all about the dogs in shelters, and I DO agree that there are too many there. But I am honestly getting very tired of people being SOOOO judgemental about others breeding. To be quite frank, it is none of their business. I don't think the person that said alot of these things even knows you, so why are they even replying here? Not that it matters as the said person has now been banned Truthfully though, WHO CARES how this happened. The point is that Baby is going to be a mommy, and I for one think that is WONDERFUL news. I know you, and I know that you will be fantastic with those babies. How it all came about it NO ONES business but yours and yours alone, so don't even worry about what anyone else thinks. As I've said before to others - someone is ALWAYS going to have an opinion.

This is EXACTLY why many people are so afraid to even announce that their females are pregnant. They get SLAMMED for it. And it isn't right. Just because you haven't been breeding for 20+ years doesn't mean that you don't know what your doing. Anyway, I could go on and on about this - it's just a touchy subject for me as I think so many people are just WAY too quick to judge. They judge people whom they don't even know anything about, and it's just rude I can't stand when people are soo nosey and in other peoples business like that. You came here to share your news about Baby, you didn't ask for anyones opinions on the matter.

Oh well, just blow them off! I am so happy for you girl, I just can't wait for her to have those little cuties because I am already READY to see pics!

I almost did not post about Baby being pregnant just for this reason. I knew I would get judgemental post and I was perpared for that, but I did not think I would get brutially attacked like I did. But I knew if I did not post, then when it came time to answer questions, I would not be able to ask. I really do need YT and the support of the more experienced breeders, isent that what YT is all about?

I just appreciate everyone who is supporting me and being understanding.

Welcome to the "OOPS" club. I am a charter member myself. For Sunnie's first litter daddy let her out of the expen on day 8 of her heat (at least we thought it was day 8 as she is the queen of the split-heat) to "play" with Rocky and then scolded them as he waited for them to seperate ("mommy's going to be mad"). That gave us Rainbow & Boots. Her second time to be bred was planned down to the second. That gave us Chewy & Sophie. This time it was under my control when I sent her off for a week's vacation at her breeders not knowing that she was having a silent heat. My friend called and said "guess what Sunnie & Jake did today?" Lets just say that Sunshine had a wonderful vacation. She's due Thanksgiving week.
Life goes on. She'll give me beautiful babies again.

I looked up the book and have it on order!
I know I can do this, it may all be a little overwhelming but I will get through it! I have some wonderful friends and great supporters here and I'm ever so grateful!
I know My Baby (Mama) Bear will be a great mommy and these pups will be so so loved! I have no idea how I will ever be able to part with them! I guess this is the downside to being a breeder! But then on the upside, I know I will make some one a very happy person! And don't you worry, these pups will only go to approved homes! My babies will not be put in just ANYONES hands!

You are so welcome girl! Everything single thing I said, I meant. I totally understand that you didn't want to post about Baby at first - unfortunately you are not the first person that has told me this very same thing regarding one of their females being pregnant ALOT of people are very scared to say anything, and it's just sad. You are totally right though - asking questions and getting answers to those questions is exactly what YT is all about. You just have to brush off the people who are only there to say negative things, and take in all the "good" that our members here offer. Thankfully, there are more helpful people here than those who are just out to "stir the pot"

I am just so excited for you! And as she gets further along, I want to see those pregnant belly pics!!!

I don't think that it has anything to do with how long you've been breeding. It's not the new breeders that get 'slammed', it's the people who come on flaunting the fact that they are breeding irresponsibly. Or those that are clearly only here long enough to try to peddle their tiny dogs from their tiny moms. THOSE are the breeders that get everyone's feathers all ruffled. I've NEVER seen anyone get attacked just for being a new breeder.

Since you joined a month or so in advance of me, I wasn't here. Considering when that would have happened, it sort of makes it irrelevant now--you can't very well make a statement regarding the current norm for YT based on something that happened over 2 years ago.

(Although I can imagine that doesn't help your feelings about what happened.)

In total agreement on the issue of breeders such as yourself doing it responsibly......do everything correctly and do not come on here just to peddle their pups. One can usually spot them a mile away.

I get a multitude of calls, PM's and e-mails asking advice on how to breed responsibly.....asking how I began.....I'm very willing to help those that are truely interested.

My big mistake was that when I joined I was starting my research and really didn't know much of anything (not that i do now either ) and I bragged about how small Ceeby's parents were and what a great breeder of 'teacups" that I had found. the comments were really directed more at my breeder than me. I learned my lesson well.

Although I am not a new breeder, but until recently, did not ever know about this site. Have had yorkies for 18 years and only just discovered this a few weeks ago.. So I too am learning along with a few others..

My my and do some have opinions, I love the serious people and great help one gets from some breeders..and the just yorkie lovers. but wow is all I can say about some people who can say such nasty things...and not even knowing a person. Nervie, is all I can say right now. Almost made me tear up and I do not even know this girl.

Takes away the fun of sharing with others that love their yorkies whether as pets or the breeders...

I have not joined as a member yet, just kinda feeling this site out. I have met a few very nice people already...but do I want to share for those nasty opinionated people. I am really wondering.

Well, we all have to learn somewhere, sometime. None of us start out knowing it all. But now down the road, I've seen you rightfully correct some people who join here anew making some of the same mistakes, I'm sure, that you (and we all) once made--I know that you harbor the same passion and at times frustration in situations like that that those who scolded (for lack of better word) you felt. How would you have ever learned if you we never corrected and told what was correct? KWIM?
