Thank you for helping me with this. I hope this information helps. |
Sheesh, that is ALL good news. Every symptom I asked you about is bad news. Sometimes the tiny ones are underdeveloped on the inside. I will continue to check back on your little man. I pray all goes well. You are doing a fantastic job! It is a lot of work and sure makes you respect the little Mamma's a LOT more! Keep up the good work:) |
Sharon, I just wanted to say that I think you are doing a wonderful job with this little one. I know how much you love him and your love shows thru in your posts. I will continue praying for him. Hugs Sonya |

I'll tell you the truth...it sounds a lot better than I expected. The first 2 weeks will be "iffy". Three weeks will be wonderful! Keep track of the symptoms I mentioned. If he is a little lazy bones, make sure he moves around and gets stimulated. He needs lots of "pottying" help from Mama....so after you feed him, put him up near her face then lay him down in front of her if she pays attention to him. I am soooooo happy to hear that he nursed from Mamma....that is an improvement:thumbup:  . You are right, puppy kisses are the best! I'll keep checking in and praying for your little man:) |

Thank you so much for all your help. I never thought I would be in this position. Thanks |
Sharon I hate to that your worry about your little one, how much does he weigh today, if we lived closer I would take him for awhile and let Lexie nurse him since she only had the two, and they are becoming butterballs....did you get a heating pad for them...how much do they all weigh now...:) |
You are quite welcome! |

pup Do you feed him during the night? You did look at the roof of his mouth..to the end of his throat with a small pin light (cleft.).. I would take him in to the vets for tube feeding (no need to pay the vet) by a vet tech several times a day if you do not know how...or learn..best wishes |

About the cleft palate. The vet said that they were all checked for birth defects and cleft palates. All negative and healthy. I just don't understand about this little guy. He was eating a ton and not gaining any weight and now he is starting to stop eating and I am worried that he is just going to wither away to nothing when he really already is compared to the others. I will see about getting him to the vet tonight. Thanks |

I am happy to see that you have two cute little piglets. I am sure by what the mother looks like that they are going to be beautiful. Too perfect. I hope that he starts gaining. I am going to keep trying until the fat lady is singing!!! |
pup You are doing all that is possible and he is getting all he needs...some fade and it is heartbreaking, but some of the worst do a turn around..God bless him... |
A ray of hope I just called the vet and found a wonderful lady that knows a ton about puppies and are going to take this little one and do what she can. She said that sometime this happens and sometimes they pull out and sometime not. Well I hope that she is going to be able to pull this one out of it little rut that it is in. She sounds like a great person and it truely in love with animals and is in it for the right reasons. Please keep Yoda in your prayers. The power of prayer is so amazing. Thanks, Sharon |
Sharon you know we will be praying for him.It will be hard for you but if she can get him gaining it will only be for a short time...:( |
Awesome! I'm going thru the same thing right now with a tiny boy less than a day old. I know it is tireing and emotionally draining. Thank goodness you found some help. All the best and good luck! |

I am so sorry to hear about this. It is so hard to watch them struggle. I have been up for the last week trying to get this baby to eat anyway posible. I am so tired. I hope that you can find some help for your little one. Do you have pictures? Are they in the Nursery? Take care, Sharon |
MorkieAZ I just seen that you were from Pheonix AZ. I will be in Tucson in December for my cousins wedding. I hope that it is cooling down there a little bit. Is this the litter that you were telling me that was all yorkie instead of morkies? How many did you have? Thought I would ask. |
my little boy who was 2.1 took almost 8 days to start gaining i just kept giving him a little nutri drops and he is now up 9 ounces and seventeen days old sending prayers your way |
I hope the lady knows how to tube feed him and can get him strong enough so he can make it on his own. I had one that was barely 2 oz at birth and at his 8 week check up yesterday he weighed 1lb 4 oz. I tubed him for a few days when he was born to give him a jump. Good luck and I hope yours thrives at the ladies house and you get him home soon fat and healthy. |

Update Quote:
I just dropped him off at the vets office with his big brother BamBam. She first looked over BamBam and said that he looked wonderfully fat and healthy. Then I told Yoda out of my sweatshirt I was wearing to show her him. He was bleeding a bit. Something he was not doing today when I had him. She found where it was coming from........His tail. The tail docking that was done 8 days ago was infected and was starting to ooze blood and puss. She said that it needed to be taken care of and that she was going to put it on antibiotics to clear it up. The poor little guy. She also said that could be why he was not wanting to eat. So Yoda is on antibiotics and she is very hopeful that he is going to be back to eating and infection gone by Monday. I told her to have a fun weekend getting up every two hours feeding the two of them. She said that this is the part that she loves the most about being a vet tech. Being able to help get the sick ones back on her feet and enjoying them while she has them. I asked her how much it was going to be for the weekend and she said just give my the puppy formula for them to eat and that is all I need. She would not accept any money or anything for the service she is providing. She is the second Angel this week. Angel Beth. I love it. So do you guys have any ideas on what I should get this woman for her generosity? |
How is your little guy doing this morning? I was happy to see that you were able to find some help and hopefully she will be able to pull him through and gain some weight. I do not have any suggestion on a gift, but perhaps just keeping in touch with her and maybe donating some blankets and other items needed for future puppies who might need her help? |
That's a great idea from ryorkies! Sharon, I am ever so greatful to your "Angel Beth"!!!!!! I am shocked they docked the tail on your tiny boy...they usually won't. I am so excited and can't wait for your next update! |
I'm glad you found such a nice person to help you out, and hope he's doing well. How about donating items they may need to help them out, or some pretty flowers for the vet tech. |
Just checking in (for about the 6th time today:) ). An entire night and a half a day has passed and I'm wondering how your little man is. Please update when you get a chance:) |
Update Okay so here is the update. I just called to check on Yoda and BamBam. She said that they are both eating good, with a few exceptions. Yoda is not wanting to take milk without the syringe. She is thinking that there might be something wrong with his jaw that he is not wanting to eat. I hope that is what it is. The poor little guy. Another thing is he is really clumsy, sometimes like he is having tremors or something. She said that might be because he is so small and that might go away with him gaining weight. If not it might be something nerological. The poor little guy. Please continue praying for this little guy. I hope that he is okay. She is going to give me a call sometime at the 24 hour mark to give me the weight status. She did bump up his feedings to once an hour. This might help to gain weight. Thank you for the idea for gift to give her. I have tons of fabric and I would love to make her a little puppy blanket. Great idea. About the tail docking. When they did that they were all about the same weight for the most part. There was just one that was a bit smaller then the others so they thought that it would not be a problem. |
