Thank you everyone for all the beautiful comments :) I read everyones comments out loud to my yorkies and they loved them ;) I was quite suprised to find the parti yorkies. This morning while we were sleeping, Jasmyne went into labor. This was very different from the last time she gave birth as it was at night time and we were there to monitor the birth. However, this morning my wife woke up very early and found the dark brown baby boy already born and waterbags and feet sticking out of the mother. The second baby was stuck in her for who knows how long? I woke up and assisted her with the birthand it took about 30 more minutes before the second baby was delivered. He was not wrapped in the bag and he managed to take 2 or 3 breaths of air once he was out and then passed away. I spent 20 minutes trying to rub him and clear his throat of any fluids but there was no chance of reviving him at that point. To be honest, once I saw the white color of him, I thought he was malnourished or not ready for birth thus the reason for the albino color. So all I was worried about when he was born was to make sure he stays alive and get's the proper attention. Once he passed, I was sad but I kind of expected it since Jasmynes previous litter had a really small 1.8 ounce runt that didn't make it. I also always hear other breeders talk about losing a baby or two in a litter. So after he passed I was thinking, wow, it would of been real nice to have a white yorkie as it was something I never saw before except when it was mixed with a maltese or something. So another hour passes by and Jasmyne goes into labor again. So I was honestly expecting a regular dark brown puppy to come out. This time my wife assisted with the labor and once she saw the head crown, she got pretty excited. So as soon as the head/upper body made it's way out, I broke the body bag that was around her face so she could begin breething right away. I then realized it was another white puppy. So she came out pretty fast from there. She didn't move much for The first few seconds so I started worrying if she was going to make it or not. So I gave her the best attention I could and she was pretty active 5 - 10 minutes later. The mother and the 2 puppies are doing very good now. I gave the mother Nutrical during the birth just to help aid with energy and vitamins as well as Gatorade to help with hydration. After the healty white baby girl was born, I thought she was white because this time around I was feeding The mother Esbilac milk replacement a few weeks prior to birth. I started to think the esbilac made the puppies white :D Jasmynes previous litter was regular dark brown babies with some white spots. We have a beautiful 2.8 ounce girl from her last litter that has a white chest and light colored head. The boy from Jasmynes previous litter had white socks for feet which looked really cute. It looked like he had 4 pure white sport socks on. Also, the nails were all white as well on him. Jasmyne's two back feet are all white as well with white nails. But her 2 front feet are regular. I will continue to update this thread with growth pictures of the 2 newborns. I am also looking into the pedigree of the parents. The breeder we purchased the Dame and Sire from seems to think the white came from the Dames side. I will keep everyone updated as I learn about it. Ruben |
So cute and interesting....I would have never known that was a yorkie!! |
SOOO cute! Congrats! and also, condolences on the lost little one. |
What gorgeous little babies you have, sorry you lost one. |
Awesome photos. Congratulations on the birth and so sorry for the loss of the little boy. Sounds like you have a Parti baby and mom is a carrier. Can't wait to see them grow!!!! Welcome to YT! You came to the right place for information!!! |
Wow! First, I am so sorry for the loss of your little one. And congratulations on the parti girl!! This is so exciting for you, the parents are both cuties. I can't wait to see them grow!! :) :) :) |
wow, mom must be a splitter (half regular half parti) and the dad must be it too for those pups to come out that way. it wouldn't happen otherwise. My morgan has white toes on one of her back feet and a white chin, she's like your Jasmyne. Congrats again. i would love to have a puppy like that. |
they are gorgeous!!! can't wait to see more of them!! |
Me too! What an exciting thread this has been to read! Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL puppies! I am sorry about the little boy. It's beautiful that you got a girl who was similar to him. Please do stick around and share pics with us... I know I'm one of many who is very eager to see more! Thanks Ruben!! Cheryl |
Congrats you have beautiful babies. |
I have spoke in detail with a parti breeder on here and I think she told me this....If you have a standard yorkie and a splitter/carrier you have a 25% chance of getting a parti baby. If you have a tri color and a standard you have a 50% chance of getting partis, and 2 parti usually have 100% partis....What I dont remember is the odds of 2 carriers having a parti....This was awhile back so maybe a breeder can jump in here and let you know the odds for sure. Either way, I have total parti envy right now :P |
Ruben, you have beautiful parents and pups! Congratulations! |
:congrats: What beautiful babies you have there, Mom and Dad are just as beautiful too. Sorry to hear you lost one. Lucky you to get a Biewer in there, I want one sooo bad, I think hubby would kill me though. Oh, and :welcome4: to YT!! |
