Wonder why she knocked her price down? He does look like he has the alopecia gene poor baby.I feel so sorry for him and hope that his new mommy loves him and he has no health concerns except for maybe some skin issues. She knows about the concerns with an off color puppy but will do nothing about it that infuriates me!!!! I am assuming she will breed the parents again and probably get MORE of them,to sell as rare for a hefty price. Noone should be breeding with an off color pup .I know some who breed chocolates and they are no better than her !!!!! They are producing more of these off color pups and messing up the gene pool. If you get an off color pup in your litter okay it happens ,but to breed for them is a irresponsable breeder. No matter what color you are using!! Blue Chocolate,Red!

my little annie is a true blue puppy. i bought her from a breeder in ark. a month ago. she was 18mon old when i got her. the breeder did tell me that she didn't have a good thick coat of hair. she called it whispy. i drove 3 hours one way to get her. i was very shocked when i saw her, because she had little to no hair on her back. she was very BLUE! her skin was the color of an SOS cleaning pad and had dry patches all over. she claimed not to know what was wrong with her skin and hair. she said she bought her at 8 weeks old and she had never came into heat. plus her coat was not up to breeding standards. i could not leave her there in that puppy mill hair or no hair. the thought of her living in a cage out in a metal building her entire life made me sick. i brougt her to my vet the next day to have a skin scrape done which showed she was a color dilution. she seems to be very healthy, but is very small. she weighs 3.8 pounds. she will be two years old in jan. she now lives the life of a princess and i wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. i pray she lives a happy healthy long life! from what i have read about the true blue pups anyone purposely breeding knowing of this should be ashamed of theirselves.

i asked if she was big enough to have puppies becaue my little chihuahua tied with her about one week after i got her. the seller told me that she had never came into heat before. i got her on a monday and by that weekend my little rocky was going nuts for her. i am not a breeder and have never breed before. i took annie to the vet the next day and they gave a shot to prevent pregnancy, because of her condition. at the time we did not no for sure if she was a true blue but my vet felt very sure that she was. i feel terrible about him getting to her. i was under the impression that she had nerver and would never come into heat. she does have an appt. next week to be spayed.

I am happy to hear she has a great home and you took her regardless. These poor little guys ,it just breaks my heart to see what can happen to some of these pups.Shame on these people who knowingly breed these off color yorkies!!!!!!!! I have had a blue pup well he looked blue or silver, but fortunatly he did not carry the alopecia gene and has a full black coat and no health problems, and has been neuterd. Blue pups are not the only ones who have health problems though chocolates do and reds also. I do believe there is a difference in the blues though, those born all blue noses etc and no other markings do not do well at all ,most do not make it out of weaning, those with just blue and tan markings seem to have hair loss and skin disorders, those with 3 colors black tan and white seem to do the best, getting in a thick coat and turning black etc. Chocolates have hair problems also less hair and more wirey and do not usualy grow a long coat. Reds do not have as many hair problems can grow nice long soft coats but tend to have health problems. All yorkies have health and skin problems but it seems to be more prominent in the off colors.

I have seen lots of blue yorkies, some with hair some with no hair at all, some healthy as a horse and some that always have something wrong with them. It is a learning experiance when you see that off color in your whelping box,. Our boy was placed in a home with his owners who knew everything about him, actually they only live 1/2 hour away and cooper looks like a normal black and tan yorkie no health problems with him at all as of yet and he is 2 1/2 yrs. I thank god for that but never want to see anything but black and tan in my whelping box!!

annie is only blue on her back, sides, back part of her head and ears and the front/outter part of legs. her gold coat is thick and pretty! i have been using medicated shampoo on her and the dry patches have gone away. i also sprinkle her food with missing link. i can tell a little that her hair has grown, but i know she will never have a full coat. i just want her to be healthy!
