OMG!!! A MORKIE!!! Help please!!! I just discovered something, I think Tinkerbell had a Morkie:eek:, How can I tell for sure though??? I mean it was the second baby that was born, the biggest one (6oz), the one that got stuck:eek: her babies are 4 days old today and as I was looking at them closely I noticed that he had "white" tips on the legs:eek: OMG, I do have a maltese (Chiquito), and one day he got her for a few seconds but released when I yelled at them, but apperantly he got her pregnant too. This happened while Albert was here, he is the father of the 2 other. I always thought he looked different not only in size but in color:eek: :( I am so shocked I dont know what to say or think!!! I need to show you some pics so you can all help me out. He also has white hairs on his chest:( |
the white on the chest doesn't mesan he isn't a yorkie. All my babies ecept one have had white markings on their chest. it later turns gold. i have also hadd a couple with white toes. Also turned gold but if you truly think there is a chance you have a morkie, you will have to have ALL possible parents and all the puppies dna'd. |
Yes, the only way to know is dna testing, because it is possible for pup mothers to carry pups in the same litter from different fathers. But how fun, a new discovery! As long as the pups are healthy and happy, does it really matter?? ;) |
It's possible you do have a Morkie. However, some yorkies are born with a little bit of white on their chests and sometimes on their feet, too. |

all of mine had white on the chest and one with white on the back paws. lets hope they are not morkies (although i am sure they would be cute) |

wow i didnt know that could happen r u getting them dna tested? |
Can't wait to see the results. |
Where on the LEGS are the white tips? |
Milli had a little white on her feet and chest as a puppy, which has turned to tan as she's grown. I think it's cute! Someone told me that they're just going to be a "lighter" yorkie when they have white toes and a little white star on their chests. A little can be "multi-sired"-I had to complain about a breeder once for registering the litter as all purebred AKC yorkies when there was a good chance they were part rat terrier! She was trying to pass them off as purebred yorkies... :( Here's a link to AKC's multi-sired litter info: http://www.akc.org/dna/multisire.cfm |
If there are any ties besides the intended, a test should be done. This is for their registry and so you can be honest with the prospective owners and not sell them as purebred if there is a possibility they are not.... Even if they only were together a little while she still could have conceived. |

All 6 of my pups from 2 different litters were born with a white spot on the chest and a few have the white on the toes....:D |
Lulu is all yorkie and she was born with a white blaze on her chest. It's still white today at her ten month birthday. Well watch them grow and see how things turn out. By the way we sure would like to see some pictures. |

They look fine to me. If I were you I'd mention the almost tie to the stud's owner (something to think about). She has a right to know. They look adorable. |

They do look like yorkies. Watch 'em as they grow, if you have any with ears that fold quickly (they appear longer) bad explanation I know, or just has big ears flopping, then I'd wonder. I've had many with the blazes on the chests, they disappear. I had one with a white tipped foot it, it turned gold. Good luck with 'em, enjoy. |
Riley had a white spot on one of her back paws when we got her at 11 wks that she's retained. |
They look like yorkie puppys to me. My first litter of 3 had white on their chest and feet, but have turned brown now. |
Yes, yorkies can have white markings on them when born - chest or feet, but the area should be small. Please check out the up-date on our standard. Most lose the white as they mature. Your pups look like yorkies, but to be 100% sure you will need to do DNA testing. If there is a chance that your Maltese may have got your female - you really should not register the pups until you are sure he is not the father at all to any of them. If you do not plan to register them - just enjoy them. They are very sweet looking. T. |
