Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Can't Get Past "Bitch" Word...? Call me a goof, but I just CANNOT call a female dog a bitch - I just hate calling them that word since it's such a negative slang word. It just sounds so negative to me, even when used to describe a sweet female dog. What do you bitches think?

| To be honest I don't like it that much either, but it seems popular in the breeding and showing areas.

| I think the more you hear it used by breeders and in show ring the more you'll get used to it. but to be honest I'm not comfortable with it either. |

| Me too! It always sort of shocks me when I hear it or see it.....I'm glad I'm not a breeder, LOL.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | And you're a breeder, right? I suppose one gets used to it...but man I'd have a hard time actually saying it.

| i am used to it because of my husband breeding those hound dogs. But, the first time I heard him say it, I got mad. A funny story, I was trying to post a for sale ad on one of the online places i use a few months ago. I think I said, she will be a nice size bitch to describe the dog or something like that and admin shot me an error and told me they couldn't allow ads with profanity in them, How noble of them |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Bitches don't bother me one bit. It's humans that made the word in the beginning and humans that turned an innocent word into something nasty and rude...just like the word gay. We have 3 bitches at my house...2 furry dogs and of course, me!

| It was very hard for me to get used to at first. But in the ring they don't say Winner's female dog, it's winner's bitch. I figured if I was going to be a part of the dog fancy I'd have to speak the lingo. It's getting easier though I've never called a person a bitch and probably never will.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I am with you there. I have no problem with the word bitch but I don't like to refer to a female that way. I hate that double standard where the male is called the sire, stud ....etc. Meanwhile the girls get called a bitch. Makes it seem to me as though they are not as important. JMO

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Lulu hopes the cutie is a very progressive thinker and also wouldn't like to hear the girls being called "Bitches".
