As long as you are happy with your pup's size and disposition, the "look" is a vanity issue. I just hate to see someone take advantage of you by overcharging.:(

Of course, I am also a bit of a fanatic, I would like to see all mixed breed and most purebred dogs neutered. There are just too many abused and unwanted dogs and cats already.

I actually feel guilty that I purchased my dogs rather than rescuing but then when I tried to rescue a Maltese, I was put on a list, and I wasn't that patient:(

Thank You for all of your replies. I didn't take offense to any of them. If I thought he looked standard I wouldn't have asked the question. However, even if he doesn't look just like every other yorkie puppy... doesn't mean he isn't perfect. Because he is, and I love him no matter what. If he doesn't turn out like I think is acceptable I am still going to try and take him if the breeder will accept a lower price. Wish me luck.

My puppy;s mother looks like she could be redleg. She has a shorter coat, and the breeder says it takes forever to grow. Now, my puppy (havent' brought him home yet) but have pics.. he has a short coat as well. Some over on the general side think he looks mixed, but I really trust my breeder and she only has the 2 dogs that are the parents. There wouldn't have been a chance for an accident IYKWIM>.. Well, she has a yellow lab, buthe is crippled and he is outside. Her yorkies are strictly inside dogs becasue she lives in a heavily wooded area. She does not work, she is a stay at home mom and she only breeds her dogs 1x a year. She isn't out looking for a buck, and I don't think she is trying to screw me. I truly believe my yorkie is pure, I just am looking for an explination as to why he is still shorthaired. He is getting a little fuzzy on his body, but not his head.

I am not looking for a showdog, but I want a yorkie becasue that is what I am paying for! I don't mind if he has a shorter coat, i would keep it that way anyhow...Texas is always hot.
