how to choose a stud?

my Laura is going to be in heat and i'd like to breed her this time. anyone can tell me about how to choose a stud. and which one. crossbreed or in breed, is the better way? i have their pedigrees (i mean Laura's and the studs' i choose) if you'd like to see in order to giving an advice.

You choose a stud that is the best combination for your bitch. A male who will hopefully correct faults..we breed to improve. A male from a line of quality champions and hopefully one himself. A male from a line of proven winners who will improve future litters. Best wishes

Never heard it called that before a "stud farm" but I guess if you breed yorkies and have studs that would be a unique new name to call it. :D ;)

sorry, we kinda got side tracked with the "stud farm"

most breeders do not breed females under 5lbs

I've heard of horses being put out to pasture and stud....never heard of a canine stud farm.

Hey! I've always wanted one of the minature horses. Hubby put his foot down. Said there was no more room in our bed. As, it was I made him go out and buy a King Size bed for the yorkies.
