your Right it isnt the registry's fault. I am not knocking them, Yes I did give them her name and information. I dont know what they did about it but... [I]I] have viewed the qualifications of APR, CKC, UKC, CKA, CKC, AKC Etc... I really did alot of looking,I looked for 1 1/2 years before I got my babies because I wanted the best of the best. In my opinion AKC is it. I know that they are strict, BUT dont you think this decreases tremendously the chances of people like this lady getting away with things? Maybe CKC and the rest are up and coming, which is great! I just know AKC has been around forever it seems and when I tell people my puppies are AKC they know it stands for the best of the best. JMO. I looked at a CKC puppy the other day and fell in love with her, BUT my puppies are AKC and I will stick with them. I just love what AKC's quality stands for. JMO |

Good posting ..And I'm probably going to get slammed for this but here goes. There will be those that will argue the points on AKC vs. Other registries. And it still come down to what you said. It the ethics and integrity of the breeders themselves that will make or break how a person breeds and what type of dog is bred. Akc Nor the other registries can guarantee you a quality dog or for that matter a healthy dog. Yes, AKC has stricter record keeping, but record keeping is only as good as those keeping them. Think about this... An AKC Breeder who doctors record.. sells only spay or neutered puppies. The normal pet person can NOT breed the dog or show it so why would anyone question the parentage of the dog. Chances are they wouldn't and this type of breeder could get by for year by doing this before getting caught if they ever did. And stuff like this does happen. Most Pet owners do not care what the registry is as long as the pup look like it's suppose to and healthy. If a Pet owner looked at 2 dogs One is AKC and One is ACA, Both breeders are good breeders , both dogs looked the same and healthy. The AKC dog cost 2500.00 and the ACA dog cost 1000.00 which would they pick ??? Is it worth paying an extra 1000 just to say I have an AKC dog ?? Why is AKC important to some??? Truth is AKC dogs net more money then other registries. Certain breeders like certain bloodines to breed who plan to show the dog in AKC dog shows. Oh and btw I breed both ACA and AKC....:D |
