Tiffanie...Day 64... 4 Attachment(s) Well here we are again, lol, STILL no babies, yesterday (Wed.) I made up my mind to call the vet (The good one in Brownstown!) about Tif's weight gain..(In another post!) I called and they looked @ her xray and said she is due ANYDAY, could see backbones in it...(The one taken 10 days ago) said to bring her in and they would do a vaginal exam, so I took her and her Temp. was 100.8 there @ the vets (Home it was 99.5) Dr. Kim did her exam and said she was thinning out but no puppies in the birth canal, she barley got her finger tip in there...So said she could have them like in 1/2 hour up to Thru or Friday maybe even the weekend. Didn't want to do a C-Section cause she thinks Tif can do it on her own, told me what to do if troubles come, said if she didn't have them by Monday call her and she'd do one then...She checked her teats and couldn't get ANY milk out of any of them...Said Lee U know if her milk don't come in what that means don't U? I said yes I'll be nursing 6 to 7 babies she said yep. I said okay, She said to give her Tums 1/2 in am & 1/2 @ night for the calcuim....So I did, got her back home she is fine...7 pm I took her temp: 99.0, then again @ 10:54, 97.5, I thought okay is that right? Everyone says: the 98 degrees not 97.5... so then I waited 25 minutes and took it again @ 10:20 pm still 97...Is this okay? She's ate more today then in the past week, drinking good...BM like 6 times and it's getting softer not runny, just not firm like it usually is, I also gave her that Tums around 7 tonight, think that could of made her temp drop?? She was on them after she had our 1st litter. I know on her 1st litter her milk came in like a few days before she whelped but it was in all her teats not just one. I also checked her teat and it's only a drop out of that last left one no others are letting me get any out...What do U all think about her and these babies? I'll be so glad once we get them here.Here is photos of her in the living room before I moved her to the middle bedroom, I made our bed tonight and look what she did to my pillow! LOL! Just about put it in her water and food. I ask her if she was comfortable! LOL! I wish I had someone to baby me this way when I was pregnant all 4 times with my girls lol! Man it sure seems like shes gonna pop them cuties out any time now. Her temp has dropped and I bet she whelps tonight or tomorrow. I wish you the best. Can't wait to see pics of all healthy babies. Keep us posted and good luck!!! |

Everything sounds great. 97 temp is fine, nothing to worry about. I personally don't give tums or any calcium supplements until whelping time. That way, her own body is producing enough for contractions. Then I supplement when the need comes for extra. Their body doesn't think they need to make it if it's being given to them 2 times a day. This is just what I do, after reading much about hypocalcemia. I hope today's the day for you guys. |
Any babies this morning,her temp took a good drop and she had a dip the other day so I am assuming this is it? |
it looks like now is the time she should be having the babies. i am wondering if you were up all night? i hope everything is good i will ck in for updates GOOD LUCK |

Ohhhh I bet pups are coming! Meiah's temp went in the 97 range too, and then we had a pup! Sending prayers for a safe delivery! Keep us posted!!!! |

ARGH! I was hoping for news :) Well lets all just take it as "no news - is good news" She probably had the babies, and she's very busy with mommy and spending time with them :) |

YES, YES, YES Finally! LOL! 1 Attachment(s) Sorry girls YES, YES, YES FINALLY! LOL! Well I thought I'd sleep when Tif slept yeah right, I took her temp again @: 2:51 am/97.5 still, then @ 5:57 am/98.3 and then @ 9:27 am still the same today and here she was panting all night on and off, and I could feel light contractions all night not lasting long and far apart and she got into her whelping box (Hadn't done that @ all) I KNEW this was the day, even told my cousin in Ohio she'd have them today (Thur) cause she had her 1st litter on a Thur...He said yeah yeah U've been saying for days! LOL! I said NO she will U watch... Well I got up and took a shower half- _ _ _ shaved my legs, told the girls to let me know what they wanted to eat and took the other 2 (Ted and galahad) outside, and ran back in and got kids fed, clothed made sure they had their shoes by the door incase and tore out the supplies once again! LOL! By 10:20 am she was pushing, I was so excited and so are the girls, they we're in the living room and I'm holler hey she's pushing, when the puppy got out I would holler and say what do U think it is and here they are hollering I call girl or I call boy, LOL then they came sit in the hall and seen some babies I let them peek! Well @ 10: 44 here 2 yes 2 sacks we're coming out and I was like oh, :eek: NO that isn't right (Never saw this before but read & printed it out on the internet) grabbed my paper to make sure, no it's not right so I called the vet and they had me on hold and I'm thinking okay hurry up, well by the time the vet got on, tif or pups somehow wiggled around and out came one, Vet said well we're getting ready to go on a farm call and U can bring her in and well wait on U, I said NO she got 1 out and here comes another one! LOL! 10:48 here our second one came out, didn't think I was gonna be able to keep up ALONE, well to my suprise U do what U got to do when U got to do it lol, I did keep up...then @ 10:56 here came another one, BREACH and it wasn't breathing, she opened the sac @ it's feet I'm setting here saying Tif get its face, well here I jumped in (NEVER did this before in my life the helping) and I got the sack off it's face and I knew I had to do something it's feet was BLUE and here she is worried about the cord, I moved her face (thank goodness she does listen when I tell her to move or do something) and clamped the cord and tried to get it cut with my nails of course NOT I couldn't so I just cut and started working on it, (Couldn't as long as it was hooked to her had to do something!!) I suctioned it's mouth and it's nose and rubbed it and it was breathing, getting pink feet, so I gave it to mom along with the other 2, then @ 11:21 here came another one just fine and dandy, ( I put the babies in the baby basket with a heating pad in it when she goes to have another one cause she is moving around and up and down and I don't want her to hurt them, then once they are born and out of the sack and deattached I put the babies back with her), then @ 12 pm she pushed again and by 12:01 here came our 5th and right after that @ 12:11 here came our 6th, Tif did a PERFECT job with 6 beautiful, healthy babies, I thought she had 1 more in her & I took her to the vet for a check and he check her and it wasn't so sent us all home and said be back on Sat for dew claws and tails. She is eating and drinking good now. I gave her the nutra-cal to help her with her strength. They are ALL perfect little angels!!!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL and I'm So thankful it's over!!!!!!!!! Well by the time got done with my own real girls, and odds and ends, and got whelping blankets washed and room back in order it was late so here I am... When she was pushing with each one I kept asking God please help her and don't let her suffer and let them and tif be okay, he sure does answer prayers and oh yes I've thanked him so much for a beautiful litter and mother!!!!! U guys thanks so very much for being here for me and helping me with my questions and for U're thoughts, prayers and concerns for me, tif and our babies. LOVE U ALL FOR IT!!!!! U'RE THE GREATEST BUNCH!!!!Below is the stats on them and our 1st photo, yep my big legs are in there lol... I painted their nails to make sure we knew who was who, cause the ribbons don't want to stay on. We haven't come up with names yet. And yes they are bigger and yep all HEALTHY!!!! I'm posting this in the nursery too. Awe, Congratulations! You did an awesome job! It's such an action packed delivery with 6 of them. I had 7 once, and OMGoodness before I could put one down, here was coming another. I bet those 2 sacs you saw, one was probably a water bubble or sac and the other was the puppy. How nerve wracking. I like your description. I felt like I was there now I'm wiped out. You did great stepping in when you did to save the one in trouble. |

ohhhh one thing to add. with so many babies, you need to watch mommie for lack of milk. you may have to supplement. |
Yeah congrats on a great job!!! A 6-pack is alot of work watch mom close. I'm so glad all went well, I am praying mine come soon and are all healthy as well. |
