YT 1000 Club Member | Pulling my hair out. Okay please help me understand this. I am so freaking confused right now it isn't funny. Okay Maggie was spotting from the24th of October until the 27th then she stopped very little swelling. Then on the 31st she started spotting again . On the morning of the 3rd I did the tissue check and very little blood, then that evening alot more blood, on the 4th and 5th good amount of blood on tissue for both morning and evening, and on the 6th still a good amountin the morning and evening but lighter in color. However today She is back to just spotting on the pee pads and got very little blood on tissue. I have spent all day on the web trying to find any info on split or false heats. Not very much there. I am really confused here because she has no infections and as far as the vet can tell from her xrays there is no abnormal masses or obstructions. On the 3rd she was a little swollen and even more on the 5th. Now she is back to being just slightly swollen. This is so completely different than her last heat which is why I am confused. |

| Not necessarily, My bell is on day 14 still bleeding (I not 100% positive but close) and my male is still going nuts, Every dog is a little different. I would however not wait any more and get her to the stud ASAP, if you want a litter.

YT 1000 Club Member | Thank you all. My vet seems to think because her hormones are out of whack that she could be having a split heat or it was a false heat or it could be from getting her vaccines. She did not bleed or swell the entire time from Oct 24th til Nov 7th. She was spotting from the 24th until the 27th then completely stopped spotting. During this time there was very little swelling. Then on the 31st of October she was spotting again. However no blood when doing the tissue check until Nov. 3rd. and from that day until the evening of the 6th she was bleeding and swollen about halfway. Then the swelling and bleeding started going away and was completely gone by the next day. so in all she only actually bled and swelled for 7 days. So from the vets standpoint She could go into actual heat between now and the end of december or not until May. So i am just going to wait it out and see what happens. At least I have my notes so if this happens again next year at this time I will be able to rule out the vaccinations. |
