Goldust Yorkies I'm thinking about getting a puppy from Goldust Yorkies in Arizona. Has anyone had any experience with them? Thanks! |
I haven't dealt with them but I absolutely love their yorkies. If I ever get another yorkie, I would possibly want one from her. |
do they have a website? |
Their website is golddustyorkies.com. |
Her puppies seem to come with a lot of guarantees according to the website. |
Reputable Breeders? Can anyone refer me to a reputable breeder here in San Diego, CA? Or anyone have advice on buying an older dog vs. a younger dog? My reason for asking is I too had purchased a puppy that was sick too. Luckily I received a refund but still in the big search. Thanks. :) |
good luck....she has some beauties |
I love her website, very well done. |
Does anyone know the average price of her Yorkies? (a little rude to ask, I know, but I need to know if I can even afford to consider her :p ) |
I have seen Yorkies from Very low 700 to very high 3000 and up. |
She told me around $1000-$1800, I'm guessing the higher ones are either very small ones, or ones sold as show dogs/with breeding rights. She seemed nice and helpful in the e-mail, one thing though, she said she doesn't do routine testing for liver shunt, etc. (she's only had one dog come up with liver shunt in all her years, she said) but her dogs come with a 2 year guarantee. |

I paid $1500 for Marcel (from Gold Dust) - in fact he is still the guy on her website under "available", LOL, guess she needs to update! Btw, I must've emailed her 100 times as I was deciding on Marcel - we knew he'd be a tiny (she does not, btw, breed for tinies) and I needed to ask a 1000 questions before I could decide if he was right for me and that he'd be safe. She was SO patient and answered every question I had - and I had a lot. |

I contacted Goldust yorkies today looking for a female. She keeps dancing back and forth saying she'll send a picture of the puppy, but she doesn't. She won't show a picture of the dam either. Big red flag to me... |

That's really weird! :thumbdown Did she give the name of the dam? If she did, then you can probably find her on the site by clicking "our girls". |

Hi Misty, This wasn't my experience at all w/ Kathy, so I hope it takes a better turn. I know she also has a job, and takes care of all of her dogs herself. Also, I don't think she spends a great deal of time marketing/staging/selling her pups - so she may not always have pics ready at hand. When I wanted a pic of Marcel, it took maybe a couple days bc she had to take one and upload. I think many of her pups go to show folks too - who are familiar w/ her dogs, hence, she doesn't really need to market/stage a whole lot. She also sent me dam/sire pedigrees - you could ask for that to learn about the pup too. Anyway, hope you get some responses and best of luck! |
I don't have a puppy from Gold Dust Yorkies but she is a member of the YTCA. I was referred to her by a breeder here but she didn't have any available when I was looking. I've seen other posts about her - all were good that I recall. Try doing a search for her kennel or her name (Kathy Murphy) here and on google. Good Luck & let us know what you find out. |
After asking me a third time if I was sure I wanted to see them, she did finally get back to me with the pictures. |
I believe Northern Lites (N-Lites) is a YorkieTalk member maybe you could pm her if you would like more info on her. http://www.northern-lites.com/Show/Show.htm |
Oh, I love the yorkies at Northern Lites also! They are absolutely gorgeous! |

Oh my goodness, yes! Her lines are beautiful! I'm in love with every single one of her dogs :) |

She more than likely is at the shows as it is the weekend. So if you PM her give her a chance to reply as it will more than likely be the weekdays when she is home. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies :animal-pa |
Kathy is an excellent breeder . |

Yes...I just looked at her website!! She looks like a very interesting. independent lady. It says that she hauls a 5th wheel to the shows all by herself. I have a great deal of respect for her for doing it on her own!! |
Betty Anne Durrer has trusted her with many of her beautiful dogs so she certainly has to be a good breeder, if it were just one that would be a different story but she is certainly time tested. I agree don't expect to get an email or call back immediately from these show breeders, they are very busy but also may have talked with someone who is interested in the dog you are and wants to reach them first to see if they still are, to be fair. I'm sure she will let you know. |
