She is a very reputable breeder and exhibitor. Her yorkies have some of the most beautiful face furnishings I have ever seen. We are very fortunate to have some of the nicnak line behind one of our males. Anyone who could adopt a puppy from her would be very lucky indeed! This is her website http://www.nicnakyorkies.com/ |

That's pretty normal when you contact a show/breeder....they breed on a very limited basis, maybe 1 or 2 litters a year and pretty much for themselves. So did you put yourself on her waiting list? It would be well worth it. |
oh wow, her dogs are gorgeous! i would love to have one of her puppies. did you put yourself on the list? i would if i could |

Oops I'm multi tasking this evening so I apolojize for not including all I wanted to mention in my very last post but am going from yt to other sites... Diva pup- You are poking to see if I have a nicnak "breeding"? There is certainly a difference between a breeding straight from a paticular breeder and having a pup closely out of a paticular line... I never said that I had a "breeding" from Laurie. How wonderful would that be. I clearly stated that I have some nicnak lines behind one of my males. Just wanted to clarify... I know how the nit picky can go, LOL LOL:rolleyes: If you "need" to know anything else about my dogs I would be happy to let you know. :) ;) I am here on this thread originally to express my admiration for nicnak's yorkies. Thanks! |
Wow....I am impressed... That you were able to correspond with Laurie......she is very respected. I have sent her at least 3 emails regarding my interest in showing one of her Yorkies....and I never got a response.....not really sure why, but I did not.... I know that she posts on one of the other boards, and she seems very nice and very repected.....I even sent an email thru that site and still never got a response......I was really beginning to think I was blackballed....LOL.....which is funny since I have not really done anything to warrant that....LOL.....she just must be extremely busy......or who knows maybe she would prefer her Yorkies stay in Canada..... Oh well, I would love to have a relationship with her line.....and love to have one of her Yorkies....but, maybe it was just a timing thing......:) |

I also wanted to ask a simple question... Are you diva pup breeding and or showing these days? If so, we'd LOVE to hear some of your experiences. We all who are showing AND OR breeding these wonderful little dogs all know to well how much of a learning experience this is from day one and it never really ends. I am just curious if the folks who seem to continuaslly question others have actually walked in their shoes or if they are getting their info from another source, a side source so to speak... Thanks... no arguement intended guys. Just a legitimate question coming from a long time yorkie person who has worked hard and has the passion of the breed in my blood. ;) |
Saleswoman, you are so cool...really...everything you post is honest and straight to the point. I love that. I have never corresponded with Laurie Hunter. I have a male who has her lines behind him in a three generation pedigree. I am soooo sorry that my posting has caused such a mis understanding. I thought I was very clear from the first post. I hope you find your show baby soon! I know how passionate you are about all of this. :) |
Lol He he.....yep, thats me......everything is right out for all to see.......:) thanks Robbie for your kind words.....:D |
Laurie is a wonderful breeder and person . I met her at dogshows. Her Yorkies are gorgeous . |
Laurie Hunter is a wonderful breeder and longtime exhibitor of Yorkies. You couldn't ask for better in a quality puppy from a very reputable breeder. As a longtime exhibitor myself I have known Laurie many years and she is very trustworthy. |

Oh No LOL!! Yes, I would LOVE to see your dog on lead! I simply had no idea that you had that breeding in "your lines".I am just curious and trying to learn Robbie. I am being mentored by long time reputable breeders and have been to many Specialty shows trying to learn but you never know where you might pick up a tidbit;) Thank you for clarifying on your dogs breeding:) So often I do see some breeders taking credit for someone elses hard work thru advertising so I think it is a legitimate question these days . No argument intended;) I am not sure what you mean "side source, so I cannot answer that. |

I don't know Laurie Hunter personally but she has beautiful yorkies and a very well respected breeder/exhibitor!! I do have my new boy Groveshire's Under the Radar whom I have purchased also from a reputable breeder in Canada and my boy has NicNak lines but Aero mostly and I'm proud to say he already has 9 points with one major towards his championship. If you have to wait for six months would be well worth the wait!! Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

Saleswoman (sorry I do not know your name) I can answer your question for you. Laurie has been a dear friend of mine for 3 years,I have been mentored by her for 2 and I have stayed in her home and am going again soon:) She has worked very very hard to get where she is and you have to walk the gauntlet to get a dog from her for show. It has taken me that long to gain her trust and to give me a show dog. Laurie said to tell you she does not sell show dogs, no offense meant to you personally. Hope that helps. |

Congratulations, how exciting for you. I had no idea you were interested in showing dogs. Welcome to the show world, you're gonna love it! |

You said what has been posted over and over on attempting to obtain show dogs from reputable breeders. It is such for every reputable show/breeder. An e-mail doesn't cut it. You really have to walk the line with them, even before you approach them. It took me almost 2 years before my breeder/mentor entrusted me with her line. |
I worked 2 years with my mentor before she let me have a puppy . She teach me how to groom , to handle and how to help during whelping . The first Yorkie was on co-ownership until she obtained her championship . |

The good ones are all the same way. Boy, but if you can find a good one to mentor you they are worth their weight in gold. I know with mine, even though she finally entrusted me with one, I had to travel with her and her then handler for about a year, before she even let me in the ring. |
