First of all, who is posting under different user names? We are only allowed 1 user name each ... so I don't know where you got that from. If someone is doing that (which I highly doubt), report it to Admin and he will handle it. I'm not going to debate Quality Canines with you. I had my experience and I know of many others who has a similar experience. I don't need to prove myself to anyone, least of all YOU. Alo, I find is very suspicious that you just joined YT and your very first 3 posts are all relating to Quality Canines. You didn't post a welcome thread introducing yourself and your dogs. You came here in attack mode and only posted about 1 topic. So I can only assume that you're here to cause trouble. A word of advice ... leave now. Our member do NOT support pet stores and/or puppy mills. We also don't waste our time on trouble makers and internet trolls. If you're here to cause trouble, Admin will ban you. |

Jazzipuppy -Its one thing to post about a positive experience - but don't go after longtime members here please |
I went to S&V a couple years back. The guy Ivan is indeed a damn broker. He has a few pups right outside...the cutest and smallest and of course the most expensive. If he is a breeder then he sure breeds a hell of a lot of dogs. He gives you a few minutes to look around. His first question to me was how much are you looking to spend. So after looking (at the time I wanted a Shih) I didn't care to spend what he was asking. He then tells me hold on I am sure I have something in your price range. He then proceeded to call down to someone in the basement or wherever and they bring up a pup. I wasn't all that impressed with the baby or the operation. He then told me he could get me any type of pup I wanted within a day or two in whatever price range I was looking for. Now if that doesn't scream of broker then I don't know what. I then proceeded to question him about parents and he was like they are owned by various family members and friends...but I couldn't get more info other than they are well cared for. Might I also add that being as he lives in Brooklyn I have no damn idea where he houses all these pups. You are living in the city and I am sure that NY has some ordinances about Kennels and how many dogs you can have. He has a good number of dogs stores in the basement or back since he was willing to bring out a procession of dogs to give me my choice depending on my price range. Anyhow I high tailed it out of there and didn't buy a thing from them. He personally gave me the creeps...seemed like an undertaker. |

V, I didn't know much indepth information about mills back then but it screamed wrong to me. If you are indeed the breeder then how come you can't 1) show me the parents, 2) let me see them so I can guage personality, 3) answer how many litters they have a year, 4) show me how and where they are kept/kenneled outside of the most favorable dogs on the showroom floor. The biggest biggest tell was the fact that he told me that he could get me any dog I wanted if he didn't have what I wanted on hand and it would be in my price range...duh... |

I agree with you 100% ...I made the mistake of buying my Cocker Tessa from a kennel that I now know to be a small scale puppy mill - closed now - but a mill still the same. Back 13 years ago I was clueless but it haunted me for a long time after bringing her home thinking about where she came from - That Ivan person at SV sounds like a true SALESMAN - slick like OIL |

the funny thing is.....they don't understand we can pick these people out in a heartbeat. people trying to come on here and act like they are in no way involved with these stores, breeders, brokers. we can smell you like flies on poo. just go away because you have been SNAGGED. |
this is my second post regarding this topc. i bought my beautiful baby lazaro from there 14 months ago(he is now 17 months old). i have never had one problem with him. a co-worker of mine also had 2 pups from them with no issues. the guy was kind of weird (i dont remember if his name was ivan or not), but what i can tell you is that the place was clean and all of the pups were very cute. and i also believe when they close each night, they bring their pups upstairs with them. true, some of us here might have had a bad experience with them, but on the flipside, some of us have not. this thread is really just stupid now. |
This thread isn't stupid - and kinetika - These people will tell you anything to sell a dog. Don't believe everything you hear from a Pet store..they tell people what they want to hear so they can sell you a dog. They're in business to make as much money they can off each dog - they aren't in it for the warm fuzzies - it's all about the green. for those looking for a puppy: PLEASE don't support Puppy mills by going to pet stores - there's plenty of information on the net about them - just do a search. There may be good and bad pet stores out there but the bottom line is - anyone who supports them is supporting puppy mills |
Why is it when several people have similar stories about their ill &/ or dying pup coming from the same place some one comes on here & tries to post about their healthy pup....just because theirs may be healthy does not take away the fact that the majority of pups may be ill & the healthy ones are the exception....just because a BYB or Puppy Mill occasionally gets a few that slip through & remain healthy does not in any way make them reputable, consider yourself one of the fortunate ones.....your healthy pup in no way shape or form erases the fact that there are dead & dying, and ill pups coming from the same breeder or broker...stop defending & open your ears, you may learn something... |

I've never said anything about rules or regulations on the Forum...but, will now. Isn't the breeder section for discussing breeding situations and not to discuss breeder reviews? Especially a Pet Store Review, very sore subject with most of us. |
