Mine absolutely love the pudding.

Basically, get a box of the vanilla instant pudding. Mix it according to directions but using whole milk. Add one raw egg yolk and mix with an electric mixer. It will not set as regular pudding but will be a little runny. It'll keep for a couple of days in the fridge. Feed it several times a day.

I'd do the boiled chicken...no seasoning. I've had to hand feed Gracie since she refuses to eat from a bowl...such a diva. I also hold a bowl of broth up since she won't drink it if it's laying flat on the ground. Spoiled? Probably...but with a nursing mother, you do what you have to do in order to keep up her strength, milk and health.

Also, vitamins are really good.

The mama with the fewer babies turned her nose up at the scrambled eggs and when I made the rice in chicken broth she turned her nose up at it too. BUT!! when I mixed the rice with baby food chicken she gobbled it down. I didn't make too much cause I didnt' want her to waste it but it's probably a good thing cause maybe her stomach is a little shrunk now. I will offer her some more in a couple of hours.

The other mama, with 6 babies, would eat the scrambled eggs so I mixed them with rice and she gobbled them down. She tried to avoid the rice but couldn't. LOL Then I put the rest of the eggs and more rice in with some canned liver dog food. I haven't gone back to see if she ate any more yet.

I put some vitamin drops in both their waters. Maybe now we will see some action. I don't have any chicken right now but the fried. We will go get some in just a little bit. Most of the time I leave dry food down and sometimes mix cottage cheese and sometimes canned dog food in for a treat. This is the very first time my girls have refused canned food. It is most odd.

The puppy that won't eat anything but chicken is only a pound and a half at 16 1/2 weeks. She keeps having low blood sugar seizures. We feed her what we can get her to eat and that is 99% chicken. Now that her grandmother gobbled down the rice and babyfood chicken, I will try mixing a little rice with her food. She did turn her nose up at the rice cooked in chicken broth but maybe if it is a fresh chicken she will eat the rice better.

My girl whelped on the 17th. She has barely touched dog food. I'm feeding her the same as I was the last couple weeks of her pregnancy.

A couple of tablespoons of Pedigree puppy formula for breakfast, either a half boiled egg or some boiled chicken for lunch, along with cottage cheese or yogurt. Pedigree again for supper. some vanilla ice cream occasionally. My breeder also said hers loe string cheese.

I guess at this point I would give them anything high in protein or calcium. Baby food meat is disgusting, have you ever smelled it? I don't blame them for not eating it.

Just boil up some chicken legs and thighs and pick it off the bone.

I also wanted to add that you can mix up the Esbilac or whatever puppy formula you have and just let them drink that. And plain cottage cheese is good for them too.

Mine eat the Science Diet prescription ad after they whelp. They wont eat it unless you hand feed it to them. It is easy on their stomaches. You might give that a try too. I think you have to buy it at the vets.

Dogs LOVE milk, so take whole milk and mix some plain yogurt and beaten raw egg into it. Get her drinking this to whet her appitite. Make sure she's getting vitamins too.

NOW see My vet told me that hole milk is unhealthy any people milk it has to many additives Milk replacer was better. and I would think a raw egg may have salmonellaand needs to be cooked. I new mom could get sick easy and then what would you do?

I had heard that dogs dont have the proper enzymes to break down the lactose in milk. I know some people eat eggs raw but I would be worried about salmonella poisioning too.

Mom Not Eating
 

I just went through the same thing. The only thing she would eat was chicken and rice. She refused water which caused her milk to decrease so I added water to the chicken and rice. The vet suggested no 1 chicken because it has alot of water. I fed her as often as she would eat about 5 or 6 times a day. The first few days I had to hold the bowl under her mouth then later she would gobbled it down. Be careful that your mom drinks plenty of water so her milk does not dry up. My mom had subq fluids 6 time to keep up her milk supply because she refused water. Nutracal is good for a snack and it is good to have on hand for weak puppies so they perk up and latch on.
