Has anyone heard of Cozie Kennels located in Topeka, KS? I would like to know what type of kennel and how well established they are.

Well a guy and his wife purchased a puppy from them, and due to their current situation they will not be able to take care of him so they are looking to rehome him. And I am been exchanging emails back and forth with him for several days now. I just want to be sure I know what I am up against. I have asked all the questions about health, registration, dob, etc..etc..This guy told me he just took Boomer (his name for the puppy) to the vet 2 days ago and that he is UTD on shots, has a clean bill of health and so forth.
He also states that Boomer weight in at 1.1 lbs as of 4/18/07 (the day he went to the vet). Boomer is 13 weeks old as of yesterday and he is AKC registerable.

So far everything sound good and seems like the puppy I been looking for but I wanted to see if anyone has heard about this particular kennel that he was purchased from. From what the guy has told me, it was a clean well organized kennel. Not no puppy mill type of kennel.

Anyways he is suppose to send me some new pictures of the puppy today. So these are the only pictures that i have so far and look at that face...how can I resist.

Btw doesn't he look a lot bigger than 1.1 lbs?

I have talked to numerous breeders and seen numerous puppies but for the last 3 weeks or so I been torn between 2 different puppies. This one of course and another one all the way in Port Arthur, TX. I am still undetermined and if there was a closer and faster way to get to Port Arthur I would have made the go already. I will also attach the other 1 pictures...kekke...because I still am deciding...

i can't help you out about the kennels. i've never heard of them. i just wanted to tell you that I like the secondd puppy much better. don't really know why unless it is the ears that draw me. that's usually the first thing I notice. Good luck with getting your baby. they are both adorable but the second baby is the one I really, really like.

I too like the 2nd puppy...but he is soo far from where I am at...and I don't know how to get him to me...

I was going to go down to Dallas today but then that would have only put me 6 hours closer to him. So that wouldn't work either. And I have a friend that stay closer to the puppy but she won't be heading to Dallas anything soon.

Dallas is about 5-6 hours from Wichita, KS. And Port Arthur is another 6 hours from Dallas. I have friends coming and going from Houston but that is still another 3 hours. I wish there was fast and safe way to get him but nothing seems to be falling into place.

I think they are both cute... the first one looks a lot bigger than the weight he stated. However, the second one is adorable! Who is the breeder for the second one? Did you check them out? Good Luck!

I have spoke to the 2nd breeder on the phone and she seems really nice and caring. She seems to take good care of her babies...I am going to attached pictures of his parents that she also sent me. They seem so spoiled...kekek

the 1st picture is Milo the father...and 2nd is Molly the mother...aren't they beautiful.

I also liked the 2nd one from the first time i laid eyes on the pictures...but the distance between us is the problem...and with him being so small i don't think shipping is a good way to get him here.

I like the second puppy alot better. The first puppy looks alot bigger than the stated weight. It looks to be the size of my Alexis and she's 3lbs. I haven't heard about the paticular kennel that you posted about but there are alot of puppy mills up near Topeka. I would really try to find someone that got a pup from there (that's not tying to find a new home) and find out how they felt about the kennel/breeder.

my thoughts exactly...i think that is why i posted it on YT...hoping someone could provide an answer...

my first choice is the 2nd puppy...if i can somehow find a way to get him to me i would not be looking around still...everything that i have thought of doesn't seem to work...so back to the drawing board...

Awww, I love ALL puppies no matter what, but I agree..I love the puppy #2 eyes, face and silky looking coat..she is soooo cute..but I also understand the distance thing. If it isn't one of these the wait, and everything will fall into place. You have to feel 100%, because once you make the move it is a committment...How exciting for you!!

He's very cute but the second puppy is GORGEOUS!! By the way I think the weight looks accurate. I have taken pics of my puppy every two weeks when visiting her from 9 weeks to 15 weeks old and she photographs huge but is soooo tiny in person.

I think if the people shaved the hair off of the ears his ears would stand and he would be a cutie too. He doesnt look 1 lb. but my guess is about 2 or so. He looks skinny and may be light though. I think they are both adorable. The second one is cute and has erect ears but they seem round and not pointed. Not sure if you are wanting a pet or one to use for breeding. Couldnt the breeder meet you part of the way for the price of gas? I am not sure how far they are from you.

Don't settle for the first one because he is closer. If you are drawn to him then I say go for it, but if you are just settling, then I say keep looking if you can't get the second boy. Good luck in your decision!! :D

We are about 12 hrs apart...and her schedule is way different than mines...

I also think people are drawn to the 2nd one because of the ears and maybe tiny sizes...kekek...I have to admit so was I....

but the 1st puppy has a very adorable teddybear face...

I am going to see if I can go look at the 1st puppy in person since Topeka is only 2 hrs away from Wichita. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks.....I am aware of that...I am not the type to settle...I am going to try and see the 1st boy in person, get a feel for his personality to see if he is what I am looking for. And being that I don't know much about where he came from that is also a drawback for me.

I like to see where all my babies are concieved, raised and how thier parents live.

First when I read the story, I think scam right away! I could be waaaay off, but the reason I got that vibe is it is the typical "story" that scammers give you..."we bought this puppy and suddenly can't keep it...." etc. If the puppy is ONLY 13 weeks old, what could have happened in the last week or so that makes them already give him up??? If they've had the puppy longer than a week...I would really question the breeder for giving up such a tiny puppy before 12 weeks of age and before reaching a higher weight!!
Those are my first thoughts about this anyway. Now if you are to meet these people and puppy without exchanging money and you are happy with what you see, thats up to you however you still have to just "guess" where the puppy really came from. Hey what if you call the kennel and ask about the people who just bought this puppy and you may find out right then if it really came from there or what the real story is.....

Sorry. Not trying to be skeptical, but I guess I am! LOL! Let us know what you do!!

I really like the 2nd one but due to problems of trying to get him to me...I keep searching and came across the 1st boy. Like I have mention earlier, if the 2nd boy was closer I would be there in a heartbeat but because he is 12+ hrs away that makes it a little difficult since of work and everything else.

At what age and weight is it safe to have a puppy ship to you? Maybe this is an option for me if nothing else.
