Can someone help me with pedigree's? I'm not sure how to read them and understand them totally. I mean, it just looks like a bunch of names. Ch. sire is usually a positive, but doesn't mean it's a good puppy just becuase of that!! I've read books about puppies/breeding and when they get to the topic of peigree's, all they say is " it tells you allot, and they're important b/c it shows you the whole backround of the dog" yea, but how do I know what a good backround looks like?? Please help!!!! I'm way confused or something!!!:confused: :confused:

A pedigree of at least 6 generation..and for a breeder 10 is ideal..gives alot of info. Look for the kennel prefix and many times that breeder will have a web site to see their line. What one breeder thinks is a good line another may not..but most agree, winning is the sign of a quality line...the more champions in the pedigree, the better the pedigree...IMO

Can you see from appearance a good/bad line? I'm not really sure how to pick out the good lines from the bad ones.

I've been in contact with this breeder and she sent me the pedigree to her puppy. It's a PDF, so I don't know how to attach it to YT, but how do I know which dogs had good lines. There are tons of CH's including the sire, so does that state she has a pretty good line?? The pedigree is only 6 generation. (including the puppy as 1)

EDIT: I just counted....there are 31 CH.'s in her pedigree. All come from the sire's side except 4

Yorkierose, on the akc application the most I see is a 4-generation Pedigree so where do I order for the further down pedigree?

you can order a research pedigree online from AKC. What are some of the Champions in your pedigree?

GO online and search...Pedigree Service...

AMD..if you would like to email me the pedigree, I will tell you all I know about the kennels on it..

Pedigreeservice.com does a 7 gen for $50...reasonable.
The guy who did the 10 gen has retired, but I will look for another...

The sire is Can. Ch. CH-Ziggy Boy De Bigafa, (TR295348/01)
his sire was not a champion but his dam is Can. Ch. Can. Ch. CH-Charmante Cloe De Bigafa, (FG391232)then back from there are solid Champions. If you would like more names, I can email the pedigree to you or list some more!!

okay, I sent it from my other email...hopefully you get this one.

Do you suppose the file is too big? That would be wierd, but I'm not getting a failure notice from my email that says it can't send it.... If this one doesn't come...:confused:

There are some of my favorite lines..Robert Owens of Orwick, he is judging the Pittsburg Specialty coming up..

Durrers, Caraneal (Georgette, love her Yorks) Pastoral, old Jentry..loved Charger, his owner taught me to dock tails...PennyLane also..not into Burgandy, not because of anything more the texture/color for most..

You can see Ziggy on Natalies Wee Yorkie site...

I did look at Ziggy on her website, the problem is..I don't know what I'm looking for...besides the colors I like. =P

She wants $800 + shipping for that little girl. What do you think? Does it look good to you? I'm looking for a puppy to breed--first one. (don't know if I already told you that) How does she look????

Um, no, she's not on her website. I had to contact her to find a puppy that wasn't $25-3500. She sent me this one....yes, the picture I emailed to you is the one. she's asking $800..What's your opinon?

I got both my boys from this breeder and vainchick5 got a male from her uesterday. Shes a great breeder and has wonderful puppies. She specializes in tinys and her friend breeds standard size yorkies. I would recommend her to anyone, shes a very fair and responsible in home breeder. Good luck...

You are talking to a "Yorkie" gambler...if you get a good reference from her vet, health guarantee, full AKC regs, puppy is not bashful or mal-adjusted, size suitable for age, a promise the ears will go up or a refund of some monies......and with her pedigree, I would chance $800.. I have certainly paid more for less, bred it well and gotten lovely pups of quality..LOL

It is always a gamble, even with puppies from my dearest of breeder friends..but you are getting good feed back and the price is not in the normal range for a breeding bitch...so weigh the pros and cons and see what you come up with...

not having experience with breeding, and you having some....can you give me your gut feeling? Tha's all I want is a gut feeling.
There seem to be good things popping up about her, but one thing I'm con-ing is her price. Why wouldn't she sell her for more? Is she not what she says she is?

Is it possible that the pedigree she sent to me isn't to that baby for $800?

From the feedback I got from the two ladies that bought from her, she would not do that, but I'm just curious why she isn't more!!

Shes a very reputable breeder and she is offering the people that I refer to her special deals on alot of her puppies. For example: The male she has on her website named Beau is getting abit older and hes a gorgeous puppy with a good pedigree as well. If you tell Natalie I recommended you to her she will take 500.00 off his price on her website for him. I think thats a great deal for someone looking for a small male. I trust her puppies, she is a wonderful in-home breeder and has quality puppies. She does offer specials on alot of her puppies depending on their pedigree, size, age, and prices accordingly. So I feel she isnt just out to charge high prices on all her puppies like some breeders do.

You have to trust your judgement . I can only tell you my experiences and how I feel. You have talked 2 both myself (Deb) and Nobella. I can guarantee you that she would never switch pedigrees or pull any scams. She is a very honest lady. Do what you feel is best for you hun....Whatever you decide I know you will be happy....I see Im not the only overthinker here,lol........I wish you the best!!!!!
