pup Be up front with the breeder..ask her why the price is lower as you notice the others are double/triple...and ask her if she is the breeder or is this a puppy back from her stud..a co-owned bitch etc.. If she is 8 weeks she is a bit big..so find out the details..and her ears are very flopped, but no panic yet... |

By the way, she is very cute! Tammy |
i agree with yorkierose about her looking big. if you are looking for a puppy to someday breed, you need to be concerned about the ears. they need to be erect. of course, there is time to tape them and help them unless they are too heavy. |
She was born Feb 7, so she's 5 weeks. Looks like she's maybe going to be a little bit big if for 8 weeks she looked big. The breeder told me she weighed in at 1.8 lbs. She estimated her being 6lb full grown. I don't know how to estimate, but do you think that's reasonable? Yes, I was up front with her the first time I contacted her. I told her I wanted the puppy for breeding. She then gave me the price of $800. I will ask her why the price difference and about the ears. I will also ask if she is the breeder or if co-owning is going on!!! YorkieRose...I contacted Lorraine, and she said that pedigree looked loose!?!?!?! I replied with some questions, but I'm not sure she was pleased with the breeding. Thanks everybody for the help!! I'm glad I have other breeders here to look up to, because beginning is hard, and I'm not sure what I'm looking at in a pedigree!! Thanks so much!!!!     |
Would love to know.... what she meant by "looked loose" I am learning too ....just had a conversation today as to my "development"...friend said I needed to start researching and memorizing pedigrees......urgggggg.....LOL |

She said there were some good kennels way back in there, but the breeders involved would be horrified to find their dogs on her pedigree. So basically, she has some good lines, but Lorraine didn't sound too confident she was breeding well. I asked her about it and wether or not I should purchase this puppy. I'll post what she has to say!! :) |
pup Well, photo's certainly are tricky aren't they, no ears are up at 5 weeks for the most part.....I had no clue that pup was 5 weeks...I would wait until a min of 8 to see what she looks like... Lorraine is a dear friend and perfectionist, which is why she has the best...I do agree with all she told you, but with one exception..the bitch is $800 and that is chump change in the Yorkie world..I am far from wealthy, but you have to get used to throwing money away if you are in dogs...this could work out well, or be a bust. If you buy her, then breed her well...a good champion, breeding back to a pet stud will not help you get quality...and the pedigree will fall apart even more.. PS..if you had a private conversation, ask the person for permission to make it public...this is what ethical breeders do.. |

Hey, can you look at this lady's website? I've been in contact with her and if in a couple weeks I decide not to go with this other puppy, I may be considering buying from her. I like fantasia and she said the stud would be Hero. What do you think of his pedigree?(he's on the sire's page) (her pups are $1200) thx www.fantasyyorkies.com |
