lost litter
 
last night i brought my female into the emergency vet last night she is pregnant and not due till march 11th.she had what apeared to be blood dripping out of her.when i brought her in the vet said it apeared to be diareaha,that everything else seemed to fine the puppies were not on distress or any thing.i took her outside when we got home i saw that she was licking something in the snow it was a bloody blob. i thought it maybe she had miscarried it was frozen like it was there before we left. i brought her into her regular vet this morning she was really hot and had more blood in her vaginal area.she has an infection in her uterus from the pup she miscarried last night and lost both of the other pups and is having surgery right now. i am so worried about her. she's my little princess

OMG , I'm soo sorry to hear this.
I remeber when i was a child, we had a 15 lb female, that delivered 5-7 dead puppies. A few days after this she was in a lot of pain, so we took her to the vet, and she had to have emergency surgery, Bc she was so messed up inside( there was one more dead puppy left inside):eek: Poor thing! It must be hard for both of you.

thank you ireally hope she's going to be okay i'm waiting right now to find out if she went through surgery alright .i am s worried.

It's heart breaking when things go wrong.

i am so sorry this happened. not only to loose the babies but your baby is now having surgery.
i know you are upset but can you tell us more??
like how old was she, had she ever had a litter befor?

i will be thinking about you and ck'g back in to see how everything is going.

i am so sorry this happened. My husband just lost a litter of ten beagle puppies the same way and had he not gotten his bitch to the vet, she would have died also. She does not need to be breed anymore. you should have told the vet to spay her while she is under.

sweety is 3 years old this would have been her 3rd litter no problems with the other litters only a stillborn with her first litter she did great with her last 2 . she weighs about 5 lbs. she is a beautiful little girl.the vet just called and said that she came through the surgery fine.that there was a pup that was all brown a decayed and that is what caused the infection.but she's doing alright now.we are going to go visit her my poor girl she has to stay overnight.hopefully she will only have to stay one day.

she was spayed while under the vet said she could try save her uterus but there was achance that her infection could come back .so we had her spayed.

So sorry to hear about the loss of the puppy's but thank goodness you where quick to respond and get your baby to the vet. I am so glad to hear she is doing okay. Prays for a quick recovery.

So sorry for the loss of the litter... Glad to hear that the surgery went well and Sweety is doing well. Keep us posted on how she is doing once she comes home.

So sorry to hear for your loss and glad she made it through. Just keep checking her temp and he should give you some antibiotics for her. Let us know how she is doing.

so i went to see her at the vet she seemed okay a little groggy but okay . she got all excited when she saw me and started wagging her tail.she looked so sad when i left her there. the vet said it was pyometra which is just a bacterial infection in the uterus. i guess it usually doesn't happen with young dogs.but at least i caught it right away.the vet said that it is from hormonal changes that decrease normal resitance to infection.she said that there was nothing i could have done to prevent it. it just happens.poor baby.

Sorry about your loss, hope your girl recovers completely, did he spay her or does he think she may have other litters w/o complications? I thought this article was very interesting, might help in the future

yes she had to be spayed we didn't want to chance the infection coming back

oh my i am so soory for your loss it is terrible
now i am afraid for my zoe she is pregnant also and due in march
breeding is a scary thing you just really never know what can happen
