pamsews Thanks for the info, I loved your website, beautiful babies. I hoped to know if someone has purchased one of her babies, and what they thought of Nina and of their puppy they bought from her. Thanks:aimeeyork |
Courtash yorkies BUYERS BEWARE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY EXPERIANCE WITH YOU ABOUT COURTASH YORKIES AND COURTASHYORKIES.COM ABOUT ITS OWNER KORY FEICK. I CONTACTED BY PHONE KORY ABOUT GETTING A LITTLE BOY YORKIE TO GO WITH MY 2 LITTLE FEMALES. SHE STATED SHE COULD HELP ME WITH A LITTLE GUY THAT WAS BORN 8-2-08. SHE STATED THAT I HAD TO MEET HER IN A PARKING LOT AT THE LOCAL WALMART BECAUSE SHE ALREADY HAD AN APPOINTMENT IN THE TOWN. WHEN I MEET HER SHE DID HAVE A VERY SMALL MALE YORKIE. WHILE LOOKING AT HIM SHE STATED THAT THE RUNNING NOSE AND WHAT SEEM TO BE VOMIT WERE BECAUSE OF CAR SICKNESS.THE BANKS WERE ALREADY CLOSED THAT DAY SO I HAD TO CONTACT HER AFTER THE WEEKEND TO GIVE HER MONEY. MONDAY AFTER THE BANKS WERE OPEN I GOT A HOLD OF HER AND WAS TOLD ME COULDN’T COME TO HER HOUSE BECAUSE SHE WAS A FRAID OF STRANGERS AT HER HOUSE BECAUSE A COUPLE YEARS EARLIER SHE WAS ROBBERED AT GUN POINT. SHE THEN SAID SHE COULD DELIVER HIM TO MY PLACE OF BUSINESS. WHEN SHE SHOWED UP THE PUPPY STILL WAS SNOTTY NOSE AND HAD VOMITED AROUND HIS MOUTH AGAIN .SEE GRABBED MY $ 800.00 AND LEFT IN A HURRY LEAVING ME WITH A RECIEIPT FOR MY PUPPY AND SHOT RECORDS... I PUT THE PUPPY IN A BOX WITH A BLANKET UNTIL MY SHIFT ENDED 5 HOURS LATER. WHILE AT WORK COWORKERS MENTION HOW DOCILE AND QUIET THE PUPPY WAS FOR A PUPPY. I TOOK HIM OUT TO POTTY A COUPLE TIMES AND HE ONLY DRIPPED A SMALL AMOUNT OF URINE. I GOT HIM HOME AND LET HIM MEET MY 2 DOGS AND WENT OUTSIDE FOR POTTY TRAINING. THIS IS WHEN HIS FIRST BM WAS BLACK/DARK GREEN AND RUNNY. HE MAINLY JUST SAT THERE. I ASSUMED IT WAS THE CAR SICKNESS AND NEW HOME AWAY FROM HIS MOMMY. AFTER TRYING TO FEED AND WATER HIM I PUT HIM TO BED. THIS IS WHEN THE VOMITING STARTED. BY MORNING HE WAS GETTING WORSE. I CALLED KORY AND SHE TOLD ME TO MIX UP A CERTAIN BLEND OF FOOD AND SUGAR WATER AND TO PUT IT IN AN EYE DROPPER AND GET WATER IN HIM. THE VOMITING AND BM GOT WORSE. I CALLED HER AGAIN SHE STATED TO KEEP DOING WHAT SHE HAD TOLD ME AND IF HE WASNT BETTER BY THE NEXT DAY SHE WOULD COME CHECK ON HIM.I EMAILED HER LATER THAT NIGHT BECAUSE HE WAS GOING DOWN HILL VERY FAST.THE NEXT MORNING I CALLED HIM VERY VERY CONCERNED. SHE DID COME TO MY HOUSE AND ADMITTED HE WAS IN VERY BAD SHAPE. SHE TOOK HIM WITH HER THAT SUNDAY MORNING SHE CALLED THAT NIGHT AND SAID HE WASNT GOING TO MAKE IT WITHOUT HELP FROM GOD. THIS IS WHEN SHE INFORMED ME SHE DIDNT HAVE MY $ 800.00 TO GIVE BACK TO ME AFTER JUST 2 DAYS UNDER THE TERMS OF HER HEALTH GUARANTEE.SHE DID SAY SHE WOULD LET ME HAVE ANOTHER PUPPY AFTER IT WAS 3 MONTHS OLD AND I COULD COME BY AND VISIT HIM BECAUSE SHE COULD NOW TRUST ME. I KEEP EMAILING TO FIND OUT WHAT THE STATIC WAS ON A NEW PUPPY SINCE SHE HAD RETURNED TO CALIFORNIA FOR A VISIT TO HER OTHER HOUSE. THEN ONE DAY SHE RESPONDED WITH AN EMAIL TELLING SHE HAD A REPLACEMENT PUPPY. AGAIN I HAD TO MEET HER AT A DIFFERENT WALMART STORE IN ANOTHER TOWN.WHEN I ARRIVED SHE HAD A VERY MUCH LARGER DOG WITHOUT MANY YORKIE FEATURES. BUT HE APPEARED HEALTHER THAN THE OTHER PUPPY. AFTER I GOT HOME WITH HIM I WENT TO THE VET AND A GROOMER. HE WAS IN GOOD HEALTH BUT THE GROOMERS COMMENT WAS THE HAIR WASN’T CARED FOR AND APPEARED TO BE THE SAME AS A PUPPY MILL PUPPY. AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS I STARTED EMAILING KORY FEICK ABOUT HIS AKC PAPERS AND GOT NO RETURN EMAILS. FINALLY SHE TOLD ME SHE DIDN’T HAVE PAPERS ON THE PUPPYS BECAUSE SHE NEVER REGISTERED THEM WITH THE AKC. THE ONLY WAY SHE GIVES OUT PAPERS IS IF YOU BUY a $3,000.00 PUPPY. I THEN TOLD HER THE PUPPY WAS USELESS TO ME FOR $ 800.00 BECAUSE I COULDN’T USE HIM TO BREED AND GET REISTERED AKC PUPS. I OFFERED TO PAY TO REIGISTER THEM. SHE SAID SHE WOULD DO THAT. I SEND HER MY ADDRESS AGAIN AND I WAITED ABOUT ONE MONTH WENT BUY AND I EMAILED HER AGAIN. SHE FINALLY REPLIED TO ME TO SEND ME MY PHONE NUMBER SHE HAD SOMETHING TO TALK TO ME ABOUT. I WAITED SEVERAL DAYS AND REEMAILED HER MY PHONE NUMBER.AGAIN .NO RETURN EMAIL. AT THIS POINT I HAVE DECIDED TO REPORT MY EXPERIENCE WITH HER AND HER COMPANY. THE PUPPY SHE ENDED UP GIVING ME ENDED UP ABOUT 4 TIMES BIGGER THAN MY YORKIES AND TOTAL USELESS AS A BREEDER STUD.EVERYONE EVEN POINTS OUT IS ODD DEFORM EARS. I BELIEVE THE REASON I NEVER HEARED FROM HER AGAIN IS MY YORKIE TURNED OUT TO BE SOME KIND OF MISBREED MUTE. I HOPE THIS LETTER HELPS IN STOPPING PEOPLE LIKE THIS FROM TAKING ATVANTAGE OF OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE. I HAVE ALL PHONE CALL MESSAGES, EMAILS; SHOT RECORDS, RECIPTS ETC… IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE OR HEAR MY PROOF |
Kory and Courtash Yorkies I have 3 Courtash Yorkies that are beautiful and healthy. I notice that there are MANY customers responding with happy outcomes and beautiful healthy dogs and TWO individuals seemingly trying to ruin her business. I talk to Kory often seeking advice and she mentioned this crap to me months ago and of course found it rather upsetting. From my understanding, Ginger "Fashion Paws" STILL wants a dog from Kory ... so I am curious as to why Ginger hasn't taken back her bad comments on this site. From my understanding, she got her negative information from Cindy who is this "TopFlash". TopFlash wanted to go into business with Kory and due to this business agreement going sour she is trying to ruin Kory and Courtash Yorkies. Now if Kory was so bad would poster number one still want a puppy from her and would poster number two go into business with her? You decide. Cindy is the breeder, by my understanding, that has phoned IRS, USDA, and anyone else she can, to try and hurt Kory and her business. It seems to me that this is simply slander and rather catty disgusting slander at that. Personally, I'd like to see a retraction from Ginger. The website she did was so glittery that, in my opinion it detracted from the beautiful pictures of the dogs. Kory wanted changes done to the site which weren't done...Kory is willing, if the changes are done, to give her a dog... even though she knows what Ginger put on this site. Personally after reading what she wrote and with no retraction, I would stay with the webite I have and not give her a dog at all. Kory is far too forgiving and feels that Poster number two, Cindy, just filled her head with lies. I'll believe that with a prompt retraction of what she wrote. As for if one should or shouldn't breed to standard, that is opinion and a rational comment to make. I think her Yorkies are better than standard so see no problem with it at all. As for the other two individuals -- one I think should have the guts to retract her comments and the other I don't expect to, but one should temper her comments with the knowledge that it stems from a business agreement gone sour. All I know personally, is that I am with the numerous other people who bought from Kory and have the most beautiful, healthy dogs I have seen anywhere. I hope Kory doesn't mind me spilling the details, but reading those comments, having heard the story before, just upset me. |

ugh ugh UGH! Another backyard breeder who not only needs to get her females spayed...SHE should be spayed too! Breeding off standard and for the *SCAM* so-called "teacup" Yorkies. Well, I hate to break it to ya'll, but A TEACUP YORKSHIRE TERRIER *DOESN'T* EXSIST!!!!! Well said, Sugar's Mom, VERY well said... |

The real? Ginger retracts Note to those truly interested in this topic and not those whom lack the maturity to be respectful of others. Ginger (FashionPaws who bashed Courtash Yorkies so badly) now has her Courtash Yorkie in payment for her webwork. Has upped her website to Courtash Yorkies (go check) and claims never to have written those comments in the first place. Slander is a terrible thing and doubly so when hiding behind a presumed username and faceless behind a computer. Those with the capacity for making an intellegent decision can do the math here as to what is going on. This is the comment posted here by the "real" Ginger: FashionFurPaws YorkieTalk Newbie! Join Date: May 2009 Location: Florida Posts: 1 :animal36 Regarding Courtash Yorkies I'm not sure where to post this, but I'm the owner/designer of FashionFurPaws.com. There has been someone posting information on this site regarding Courtash Yorkies stating this information is from me. Kory and I (Ginger) are friends and these statements are false. I built Kory's website and we did have a brief tiff which is and has been resolved and I would appreciate whom ever is posting and speading these false comments to "stop". I support Kory as a breeder and promote her through my business. She is reputable and has some incredible yorkies. Suzyblue This is Ginger. I do not care if you post the information I just posted regarding Kory, but you need to immediately remove all the other nonsense you are stating about me. I explained to you what took place and I really do not care if you believe me or not, I know the truth. This is exactly what I was referring to in the email I sent you, you obviously have nothing better to do but to interfere in other peoples business and try to make something out of nothing. I live in SD and have talked to kory many times before when I was looking and she had no problems with me coming by her other home in orange county to look at the pups. I think topflash is just someone has a personal agenda against kory and is doing this. I can somewhat relate to this because I've bought a pup from a breeder who is truly the devil julie whats her name in florida who ended up over the news for selling bad hundreds of pups from south america for dollars then sell them for 1200. Now this is someone who deserves all the bashing and slander but I think in all fairness kory is a legimate breeder and does not have any puppymills of any kind. Kory has been blessed with great studs and dames who produce amazingly heatthy and teeny pups not runts. I truely believe that tiny size can be acheived with good breeding practices and not all small pups like that are runts as some jealous breeders have repeatedly done so. I mean cmon now, how do you think yorkies even came about anyways. they didn's start out 5-6lbs way back when and they certainly didn't have the nice temperment yorkies have today. So therefore it is certainly possible for them to evolve from 10 lbs to 5 to 3 to 2 lbs with a slow generation of progession of breeding healthy smaller yorkies. |
Some of her puppies are really cute. I just saw a picture of a Maltese puppy that she has on her site. From the pictures that are taken from far away, the puppy is super cute, but when you see the close up of her face, it looks like the poor baby has hydrocephalus. :( |

A pup that looks hydrocephalic usually has a domed head and very wide set eyes. They usually do not have a long life span. |

Wow I didn't know what that meant either. Does anyone how her practice is going now? That she has moved to Colorado. |
Quote:
Unfortunately, the cuteness of the tiny and hydrocephalic condition if it exists is part of what makes them hot sellers at exhorbitant prices to the unsuspecting buyer. |

i seen your pics from your pups from kory jus adorable, im in the process of getting a male from her are you truly happy and satisfied? some of the things people have said about her is horrible, im disturbed because i have encountered nothing but a heap of useful info, care and concern from kory.. |
thats refreshing to read, im new to this site, and to hear you actually visited her home is great. because some of these home visit stories are horrific. i have been gotten once with a yorkie. i purchased her on the assumption that she would be only 4 pound max as a adult to end up with a 8,9 pund yorkie i was very very dissapointed, my money is earned . and its earned hard i work hard for my money and i have none to jus throw away. so this time around i have been researching for almost a year and still no purchase yet, but i keep finding myself back at kory website i love the look of her dogs, standard or not, im not loking to breed, jus a pet to love adn take care of, but again i know what i want and if i dont end up with that in the end i will be double upset than the first time.. by the waykory welcomed , mattr of fact encouraged me to come to her home and i am .. |

Those pups with eyes set far apart are not what a Yorkie is supposed to look like! Please go look at pictures that represent the breed. If you don't care about how it looks... then please adopt one from the pound/rescue! If people continue to purchase puppies from people like this then you are giving her money to continue her breeding practices. And if you don't have money to throw away then please consider purchasing your puppy else where. They may look cute, and they are definitely small but if you read anywhere an this site you'll see that the ratio of puppies getting sick/hurt is A LOT higher with "small" ones than if you buy a "standard" size Yorkie. I'm not saying that standards don't get sick - I'm saying the small ones tend to have more accidents involving injuries (breakages) and medical bills. If you want a pet that's small and furry please consider getting a hamster or gerbil - at least they're bred to be that small and they don't cost $8000.00 I hope Donna doesn't mind but here's a link to see a close up of a beautiful example of a Yorkie. Confirmed large byb, puppymiller......DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BREEDER EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER....... |
Hi, I am new to Yorkie Talk but read the threads about Courtash Yorkies before deciding to formulate my own opinion about the breeder. I work as a professional and consider myself an educated consumer, especially on-line. I contacted Kory and spent time getting acquainted with her over the phone. I found her to be honest and knowledgeable. After our negotiations, I purchased a yorkie from her. I searched for a long time because I wanted the short nose, doll face, short legs and ears .....and yes, he is small but not overly small with the most AMAZING coloration and silk coat. He has been also checked with my own vet who confirmed him to be in perfect health. I wanted to share my experience because of the sharp contrast of the posts I read. I am glad I followed my heart because I truly have the perfect yorkie for me. |
Wow! I am glad I joined this forum. It has been so very informative to say the least. When looking for a breeder I recall visiting that site. Pocket Yorkies, I wish you the best with your new pup. I hope he continues to be in good health. Welcome to Yorkie Talk. |
Thank you for your welcome. Being new, I was unsure how I would be received, especially with the story of my experience. Upon reading some of the threads in the breeder section, I felt a hint of a “member exclusivity” and “pack mentality” toward others who were outside the “group” which have been almost viscious. Bordering on liable, my lawyer cousin and I had a discussion concerning the fine line between freedom of speech and slander with the intention of defaming a person or business. Having said that, I like the premise of a Yorkshire community and will continue to peruse other forums before arriving at a judgment encompassing the entity at large. Thanks again for the hello. |
2 Attachment(s) I searched extensively for my baby Roxie. I knew the look I wanted, even if it Isn't "Standard". I was looking for the proper ear set, short nose and a baby doll face. I was also looking for a breeder who had been in the business for a long time and not some fly by night operation online. I also wanted a dog that was 3 pounds or so. My last one was that big and I took her EVERYWHERE. And she loved "Going with Mommie" SO when I lost Chanel, I knew I wanted another small one so I wouldn't have back problems from carrying to often. I never intend to breed my dog so I was looking for a healthy tiny one. I Narrowed it down to Deb Sillers and Amazing Yorkies, and Kori at Courtash. Kori may not breed to " Standard" but she does have over 40 generations of dogs under her belt. Her practice of breeding the tiny boys to bigger girls should over time produce overall small lines that aren't " Runts" dues to health problems- they are actually genetically small. She was more than happy for me to come to her home in either Colorado OR California. And She also offered the option of bringing the pup to me if I decided to wait until she came back to California where I live. She was not rude, or trying to hide anything. She was also willing to give me DOZENS of references I could call at random to ask about her. She said the average age of her tiny's is the same as a normal size yorkie and has had MOST live to be 14-17 years old. She was very upfront that the statistics about small ones not living long are skewed because of inbreeding or up healthy breeding ( females too small), runts who are small because of health problems and the fact they ARE more fragile a teeny tinys. She breeds bigger females ( most in the 5 or 6 lb range) to TINY boys 1.5 to 2.5 lbs. Yes she does have some larger dogs but would rather breed a dog on the smaller side of "STandard" to a tiny boy. It working for her. All that said... I went with Deb Sillers for several reasons. 1) she offers a 5 year health guarantee. I've never seen that before and was impressed. 2) she breeds show dogs- FOR SHOW. Any dog too big or too small to show is a flat rate of 1500. 3) because most of her breeding stock are show dogs- they have been genetically/DNA tested to be free of the majority of genetic disorder that tend to plague the breed. That to me was a combination I couldn't turn down. ANd my Roxie is GORGEOUS!( See the attached pictures!) Even my vet said that she was one of the most beautiful and healthy yorkies he had ever seen. ( and he thought Chanel, my previous baby was pretty) SO I have no regrets. And I am planning on getting a SECOND puppy in a few months to keep Roxie company. SO I can personally recommend Deb..and I do HIGHLY. But if you want a SUPER tiny yorkie ( say under 3 pounds) and that is what matters most to you, and you have several thousand dollars to spend. Kori might be a good choice. Granted I never saw her home...but the two who claim they HAVE seen it obviously joined YT specifically to bash her- so their opinions and stories should be taken with a grain of sand. Say what you want. But there IS a HUGE market for dogs that don't fit the standard...especially those that are smaller than standard. And remember... when the breed becomes popular enough- it may eventually be given "AKC recognition" they are continually adding new categories. Who is to say that "Teacup or Micro Yorkies" ( Or even a MICRO category across breeds) won't ever have AKC recognition. There might not now be a RECOGNIZED " Teacup" yorkie at the AKC..but they definitely exist. And people are spending HUGE amounts of money to get them. It doesn't make these breeders ALL "Terrible abusive and irresponsible people" nor are the buyers shallow and callous people who don't have a pets best interests at heart. There are bad breeders and bad buyers in every breed and in every country but it isnlt fair to lump them all together the way I frequently see done on YT. Courtash lines are exceptionally beautiful (granted beauty is in the eye of the beholder) but 35 year of breeding and selling yorkies isn't exactly something you discount completely. SHe is hardly a " Backyard" breeder. SO if you are in the market for a non standard yorkie, and you want that tiny size and Courtash look and you have the money to pay her prices. The solution to the problem instead of all the yakking, negativity and backstabbing is .."YOU Be willing to fly or drive to Kori and CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF" All the rest is hearsay and petty. |
Very sad today!😰 Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Tawny our 4 year old Yorkie! She had been sick for the past two years so it was time to go? We got her from Kory, a perfect Yorkie but sick. She would not give us AKC papers! DO NOT BUY FROM HER!!!! Richard |
Stay far away from buying dogs from this women! I got a dog that was to be between 4-5 pounds. He's 12 plus, his ears never stood up. And if you read why yorkies ears don't stand up, it's because bad breeding. Her health guarantee is a joke! It is for 24 hours you have to pay for your vet to look over and as another poster said she will not return your money. She'll apply it to another dog, but not the same "size". I found her off of puppyfind.com with great reviews. Which by the way beware of puppyfind, take all the bad reviews down. I had vet proof of my complaints and they still didn't allow my review. My puppy had giardia and ear mites with very dirty ears. Giardia was a nightmare to get rid of! If you also look up how puppies get it, because of being raised dirty. Which would also explain the dirty ears. (Which he hasn't had a problem since). It cost me a ton to get him healthy, over 500.00. With multiple rounds of treatment for giardia. Shes a crook and I wished I had ran across these reviews before I got a dog from her! I will continue to warn people. |
