i am going to speak with them tonight regarding two of her puppies. anyone ever dealt with her? anyone purchase from her? give me your thoughts. she has quite a bit of yorkies that are beautiful but it concerns me how many she has.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. I WILL BE TALKING TO HER IN ABOUT TWO HOURS.:eek: :eek: :eek:

Do a search. I remember someone here bought a puppy from them. Starlight does have alot of dogs. I have a acquaintance in NYC that bought a puppy from her and was pleased but I never saw this pup.

I couldn't find a guarantee, ask her if she gives a one year on genetic problems...if you buy a pup under $1000, she adds $100...wonder why??? One thing I do not like about some breeders..non-refundable deposits...maybe it is just me, but why force anyone to take your puppy or lose their money. Sometimes, bad things happen before to pup leaves and it is only fair to return the money...I had a woman find out her husband had liver cancer...why would compound her problems by not giving her a refund...? After her husband died, she bought a puppy.

she has some pretty dogs! But dang she has 17 studs and 28 dams:eek: i think her prices are really high for females from $2000.00 - $3500.00 . They are beautiful though. good luck i have never heard of her but i'm sure someone has before

I hate to break this to you YorkieRose but not all breeders are as kind and honest as you are. I do think Starlight's does alot of breeding and it's big business for her. She does have a guarentee but I frankly never downloaded it because I can't until my computer is upgraded. Ask Villette, she knows I'm a computer dummie. It's on the "For Sale" page at the bottom in small print. I do look at her puppies pictures but wouldn't purchase a Yorkie from her. I made one biggie mistake with a Yorkie in Sept. and will never do it again. Yup, he's still here and will remain!

please tell my why you would not purchase from her.....too many? not for breed standard?....too much?....

Giving back a deposit or not, has nothing to do with kind hearts. i think a person has to use common sense. my deposits are non-refundable but if someone told me they couldn't get a puppy because of CA or a similair thing I would give the money back. If they just changed their mind because they decided they didn't want one or found another one (and wouldn't tell you the truth). No, i would not give the money back. if I hold a puppy with a deposit that means if someone else wants that puppy, i have to tell them, sorry it's sold. But I do think a three hundred dollar non refundable deposit is unreasonable.

she is not listed with the BBB so i don't know. Have you talked to her about her pupies? I would call her and ask a lot of questions

thanks so much. there was another discussion here about a 2lb male but he was 4years old when he got sick. nothing due to the breeding. i will be calling her in about an hour

She sure does have alot of dogs but they are all very pretty. I love, love, love all of her pictures. I wish I knew how to do those so I could make some for my website. They are adorable. It looks like she puts alot of effort into her website so if she puts half that effort into her dogs then that is a good thing. Good luck.

i spoke w her last night. very very nice lady. asked me alot of questions. she wanted to make sure i was getting what i wanted. she wanted to know the color of hair..light or dark, thick or regular hair, small frame or large frame..etc.... she is going to send me more pictures this afternoon that aren't all dolled up just to let me see.
these dogs are in a kennel that is heated and ac. she states she cleans it twice a day. they are able to run around. she invites everyone to come and visit. the puppies love it when people come and visit. she lets them all out. i just worry about a kennel life. i know some of you have purchased your dogs that was kenneled.

kennels have a bad rep just because people have this image in their head of a nasty, dirty place with dogs stacked in little wire crates on top of each other. kennel is just a name. Not all breeders can keep all their dogs in the living room like I do. Lisa, it sounds as if this person is a wonderful breeder and takes good care of her babies. When I got Silk, I was so impressed with her breeders facility. She had her show poodles, maltese and yorkies all in separate places. The yorkie keennel was in one of those mobile homes about sixty foot long and 14 foot wide. It had been gutted all except for the bathroom and kitchen. She had a whelping room, males, females, and puppy room all separate. yes, there were wire crates just like the one I have. large. there were two dogs per crate. They were beautiful and clean. She knew them all by namee. The floor was spotless. No smell. heat, water and air. I would love to have a set up like she has. Go and see for yourself. Don't let the word "kennel' stop you. it sounds very nice and the pictures are beautiful. The only thing i don't likee is I personally think the deposit is tooo high but I guess if you are dealing in puppies that cost two or three thousand, then it isn't.

1) I would just be a bit leary of what seems to me to be a high number of dogs. (I mean seriously, I only have 4 dogs and I find myself running in circles afterd them sometimes...)

2) On the issue of deposits....what would be the point of putting one down if you know you're going to get the money back regardless of reason? How would that benefit you as a breeder? And yes, there are ALWAYS exceptions and reasons outside of a persons control that they couldn't have forseen that would warrant a return of the money...

This breeder says she lets her Yorkies have freedom from their cages. I bought a Yorkie from a show breeder in Fl. she told me all kinds of fiction. He likes going to the mall, ate sushi, likes a stroller,etc. He is vicious, was caged, 24/7 runs in circles and appears to have been abused, coat was in bad condition, never was in a stroller, flipped out when I put him in one. I never tried sushi since we spent enough time at his vet removing 2 tumours from his chin that I wasn't informed about. I could go on but this is only to say that a small show breeder with a nice website can deliver an awful dog and lie like anything after you state what you're looking for, and you receive a real mess for $3,000. To be fair, the breeder stated he likes the car and he does.
I wouldn't let a kennel environment influence me. My friend bought a Yorkie and a tiny poodle from Velvet Touch Kennels in La., fabulous dogs. Janet sells her Poodles to many breeders.

here in virginia beach, there are no "real" breeders. just hobby breeders. there are no kennels. i think the nearest one to me is about 4hours away and she does not give full registration. it makes it hard b/c of the hobby breeders here, they don't have the quality yorkie i am looking for.
so i cannot visit any place. it really scares me.

You are in VA Beach...have you contacted Mary Trimble of the Nations Cap club..I find it hard to believe no one in our club has pups for sale...
I just brought two back to place in Md in Dec and several friends had litters...check it out...

thanks, i will ck her out. i did have two listings looking for a puppy but only one person responded. i ck'd our selling forum and no one ships. GO FIGURE. also, (as you know) a lot of people who post puppies for sale on this forum are new to us. they just come here to place a free ad.

I understand about not having quality dogs in your area when i was looking for my girl i called at least 150 diff so called breeders and none of them should have been nreeding the dogs they had. i went with this breeder www.firebrandyorkies.com she has some really nice dogs i attached a pic of Daisy. She did come with Giardia but none of the other puppies she sold had it there are 2 other YT members who have ordered from her i don't blame her for the giardia and she has been really nice about the whole thing we were all shocked that Daisy had it. She has beautiful dogs and she ships

I don't like kennels, but that's my opinion
 

I recently bought a Yorkie and yes, it was from a kennel/breeder. My little girl had to be taught to love, be held, socialized, etc. I realize not everyone can raise their Yorkies (or whatever dogs) in the home, but then I think, you have too many. Years ago my DH raised Germ. Sheps for the K-9 police dept. He had two males and 6 females. Nice set up, sloped concrete for easy cleaning, heated dog houses. But I hated it. There was not enough time in the day to give those dogs the kind of love and attention I think every animal deserves. This was particularly hard when we would end up with a few litters at the same time. Those puppies needed to be socialized, played with, loved, etc. 15 large puppies? Not enough hours in the day to give them what I thought they needed. Then, all of them are not going to be sold the day they turn 8 weeks old. So you have dogs getting older, still living in kennels, still not getting that loving bond they need to. I am going to get another Yorkie, but I want some small breeder, who can raise them in their home. Am I asking to much? I hope not.

yes i have inquired about them. they won't give me full registration. which i do understand they want to protect their line.

i have full registration and breeding rights to my girl i just got are you sure because if you ask her she sells them with full rights

this is what is says on her site if you tell her you want a full reg she will give it to you if the puppy will be big enough to breed. If the puppy won't get big enough to breed she won't seel the rights When you contact me let me know that you are looking for a puppy to breed or the papers will be marked limited registration. Most puppies will have their papers marked limited registration unless prior arrangements are made.

thats ok. we do beauty pageants in our area which is so much fun. i don't know why but to enter, they want you to have full reg. yes, she will be bred in about two years but for now, we are going to have fun and play dress up. hopefully she wont be a jon benay ramsey (did i spell that right?)
