Pregnant? Abby was breed 6 weeks ago and has shown signs of being pregnant, such as in the early stage being sick, her nipples have enlarged only a little, and she has become such a shadow, She doesn't want me out of her sight and would rather that I carried her around, which is funny. She is also sleeping more and has started getting snappy with the cat. My question is could she be pregnant? She is only a little bigger than her normal size. She has gained about a pound, but hasn't gotten really that big. |

Is her vulva still swollen like when she was in heat? |

It is smaller than when she was in heat, but bigger than when she is not heat. |
Second photo looks like there is a distinct possibility. You'll know for sure one way or another before too long (3 weeks) She should begin to grow pretty fast in the next week and show a marked increase in appetite. |
hopeful One more question...does she have a stick clear discharge around her vulva? At a full 6 weeks..I am leaning towards no..but that is an educated guess..and right now she is iffy! Next week there should be a change if she is... |
i really don't see a discharge, but she keeps herself very clean. She is kind of damp, but don't know if that is from licking. |
If she is only carrying one or two pups and her belly used to be almost concave... then... maybe she is... I have one I couldn't tell was pregnant and she had two (she is so thin usually). By 8 weeks or so you should feel pup(s) moving. Good luck. |

Hello, My Coco delivered in Dec 31, 06. The whole time it was a guessing game. Her belly would look big one day, and the next it would look small again, same with her nipples. I knew she was pregnant because she had diffrent habits than before she bred. She had a slight discharge for like 3 days but only way i noticed was because she would be licking her vulva. . ALOT. I would say that looks like Cocos belly when she was at that stage. Also she may have only one pup, just like Coco did. Good luck ;) |

Same thing, licking vulva and as you can see erect nipples. One day she seems pregnant the next not. The only thing is that oneday she is very hungry the next not so. I made an appointment with my vet for x-rays on Jan. 29, so I guess we will know then.The major thing is her temperment, she seems so needy right now, and not so interested in playing with the cat like she use to.:confused: |

I go with waht Pat says!! I showed her a picture of my Bell during her first pregnancy and she was so right on the money!! But you never know, wait and see another week or two! |

Coco. Coco had just one pup. That is why im saying alll the symptoms you are desbribing are so similar. When i took Coco to get an x-ray the vet said he didnt see anything. . (By the way, an 800 dollar x-ray.) I didnt see signs she was in labor till her water broke...So its a very tricky thing...specially if its just one pup. . like Coco had. 4 Attachment(s) HAA. . Well i live in Miami, so yea. . just like 2 views and 800 dollars later... Coco is 4 pounds. The dad of the pup is like barely 3 pounds. It was an accidential pregnancy and she is gonna be a year on febuary 15 of this year. I had no problems, she just pushed and like 10 minutes later we had a baby boy. And i might add he is FAT! I had no problems during the pregnancy...just her being my shadow..LOL Pup was like 5 oz...only one so fat... Hers is a few pics of her and Remy. The one where she is nursing him is a bad one, she is curled up in a ball so she looks smaller and he looks bigg!!!:eek: |
Sorry if this is repeating what was already said (I didn't read every reply), but with Gracie's first pregnancy, we questioned whether or not she was pregnant until about 7 weeks. It was amazing to me the change that took place just those last 2 weeks. |

HAHA. .no the second one is not right after birth. He is going to be 3 weeks on Sunday. yes he is very fat, he is the only one, and he is greedy with the milk. Lets wait and see what is up with the girls, but Debbie, your girl deff looks pregnant to me. |
Pictures of My Girl Today 3 Attachment(s) Here are pictures of my girl today. She should be 5 to 6 weeks if pregnant. The middle one shows how she no longer has a "waist" but is beginning to look like a sausage. What do you think? On another note what do you think about the brown spots? I think it is a fungus from her licking so much and keeping it damp, but the vet says it isn't and just to put antibacterial cream on them. But they seem to be spreading. Any ideas or suggestions? 2 Attachment(s) Well you know that little tummy division she has going on there? Yea, Coco had that also. And like i said, somedays she would, somedays she wouldnt, somedays i picked her up and she was light somedays she wasnt. But overall, she did look fuller, just like yours in thoses pictures. Now the brown spots i have no idea what that might me, never seen that before.This picture was around the 5-6 week:eek: ....Doesnt it look too familiar??? |

Those bellies look very familiar. Abby seems to be bigger than your girls though. She is only 6.2 lbs when not preg., and she is about 9" tall and fairly long. How big are your girls. Thanks for the pictures they make me feel so much better. I really want puppies. Abby has been sleeping so much, she ususally gets me up at 6:30 to go to the bathroom, and today I had to get her up and then she went back to bed and didn't get up until around 8:00. I'll definitely keep everyone posted. Deb |
