If those exhibitors chose not to be a member of the mother club, then it would stand to reason, they wouldn't want anything to do with the mother club's awards...... |

as I said I think the accomplishment should be celebrated by all not by a select club...again JMHO |

I truely understand what you're saying, but as I said the Award was established by YTCA and I don't know if the rule will ever be changed. I would guess that is one of the benefits of being a member. Let me give you a for instance. My mentor has been breeding and exhibiting Yorkies for 40 years with finishing over 100 Champions. She chooses not to be a member of YTCA and the award is not important to her. She has obtained dogs, in the past from YTCA members. When those dogs that she has aquired have completed their Championship she forwards on the necessary proof of Championship to the YTCA owner of the sire/bitch. |

Oh and BTW since we're on the subject of the YTCA I want to clear up any rumor that has been floating around .... For the record "I HAVE NEVER applied for YTCA membership nor have I EVER spoken to any YTCA member asking for sponsorship!" This is a FACT! |

The owner of the dog/bitch of the Get or Produce must be a member of YTCA. Yes, you must be a member before you dog/bitch can obtain an ROM. The YTCA member's dog or bitch does not have to be a Champion to obtain an ROM. |
Thank you for all of the great information. I guess I dont have to worry about it since all of my dogs are sold with limited registration right? Doest that mean they cant be shown.? Mardelin, is that a championship in confirmation or can it be one of the other classes as well. Sorry for all of the questions and I did order the book Winning Edge but havent received it yet but hopefully one I get it read I will understand a little more. I have only been to one small show here in Colorado and didnt understand all that was going on but I will learn and want to learn. Barb |

Yes, it does mean they can't be cannot be shown or obtain a Championship in Conformation....however, they can in agility, obedience, etc. I don't know where you live, but if you visit YTCA.org.....there is a Yorkie Specialty of some sort in Colorado in February. |
