I am actually having this problem right now. APRI is not as well known or prestigious as AKC, they are a newer registration service. My male is AKC registered and when I bought my female I was under the impression she was too, until I received her papers.. now my male is akc/apri dual registered and their puppies are APRI. I think because they are not as well known, it is more difficult to sell the puppies. Even people who do not want to breed the pups and may not actually end up getting the dog registered, still know the name AKC. APRI started out in Arkansas and I am in Indiana, when we first got our female we had never heard of APRI, but now we are seeing more of this registry in Indiana. So maybe it will keep getting better and by the time you breed yours they will be more well known. This has just been my experience. It may be different depending on the area you are from as well.
