The work, I wouldn't mind....its the risks of loosing Venus. Or the risk of loosing a pup after I got attached.

I know I'd never loose the guilt if something happend to either of my yorkies.

I don't have children, so they are my children. I live alone too, which seems to give a tight bond to pets.

I'm deathly afraid of getting Adonis neutered already. But somehow, I have to do it, and will go through it. I've been on the main board learning, which anesthesia yorkies need, and what you don't want to give them.

When Venus gets old enough, she will get spayed too. I wish I had the nerve to do both the same day, but Venus is only 5 months old right now. I'd freak with both of them down there all day long. They'd throw me out of that place, cause I'd camp out in the waiting area!

I know I got Venus with the intention of breeding them, but I feel not breeding them is the best decision for me. I don't even know if she'd be big enough to breed with him. There's just too many things you need to know, that you really can't learn on a board, along with also the possibility of loosing her. No way!

I know I kept it quiet, and tried to learn. I've learned enough to know I'd be devistated if I lost her, then have to feed pups every 3 hours while greiving?

You all are great, I've learned a lot through reading. I really feel for those of you who lost their females. You are really special people!

I am so proud of you. I so agree with your post. I could never put Little Bit through that.

I've had children in a hospital with drugs & it still hurts. And that was my decision, no one made it for me for their own reasons.

Why would I do that to her?? If I need the money that bad, I shouldn't have her at all. I obviously couldn't afford her. If I need the money from pups, I obviously couldn't afford the care or the c section. I just can't imagine using that trusting little sweetie to make money for myself.

I, too, respect those experienced breeders who have invested their lives in the betterment of the Yorkie breed. I am happy to pay more money for my baby to be sure that her parents were raised in a kind, loving, competent and knowledgeable home.

The vast majority of us just need to be grateful for the love we have in our pets and if the time comes when we desire another, dig in those pockets and buy the best pup we can.

In most of our cases, the care of our babies will far surpass the purchase price. I would be willing to bet that there are some who have spent more on doggy clothes, beds, carriers, etc than the original price of their puppy.
