Puppy Watch??????
 
my Kandy is on day 58 if the first breeding "took". I am nervous as heck after my experience with Silk so I am going on Puppy Watch early. She is showing no signs of anything tho except being so roly-poly she can't hardly get around. She has at least four babies wiggling all over the place. If we make it till Monday, she is going for an x-ray but my vet really doesn't like to do pregnancy x-rays. keep us in your thoughts andd prayers for an easy whelping. i hope there will be breeders online if I run into troublee. i don't anticipate any problems but can't help being nervous.

Prayers and well wishes for a healthy delivery! I really feel that Silk's problems were probably due to the flea meds so I am sure everything will be fine this time. I don't always do x-rays either unless I think I only have one pup or two pups that might be too large to pass. With four pups I am sure they will be relatively small and she'll have an easy delivery. Keep us posted.

thanks everyone. I am so excited along with being soooooooooo anxious. I was told that kandy is a "free' whelper so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Toes, too!!!!!!

Thoughts and prayers are with ya. ---- Abbie says to tell kandy-- that she knows what she is going thru... but that it will fly by.... (hers are almost 6 weeks) :( Keep us posted!

Oh, thanks:) I don't breed, so the terms sometimes elude me, haha!

I'm sure that she'll do great, then, since she's proven what a super Momma she is already:D!

Nothing yet!!!!!!! She is still eating well. I am thinking the first breeding didn't "take" and it might be three or four more days. She is really clingy tho. BTW, changed your mind yet? :) :animal36

Nope:p In fact I am working on a way to get her earlier - depending on your schedule:D

Can't wait to see these babies!! I went back to the thread where you found out about these two girls and looked at the puppies she still had of Frankies at the time:D It will be neat to see these little ones:)

i kind of had an idea you might get her earlier. She is just ALL THAT!!!!!!!! She plays her little self half to death for two or three hours at a time then is out like a light. She is ready to go any time you want her. i am giving her the third puppy shot on Tuesday. I was holding her and playing with her just a few minutes ago and my hubby said, "you know we made a mistake don't you"? That is the first time he has ever admitted it. I really, really hate to see her go. I am glad you have other babies for her to play with. She plays all the time. She looks just like a teddy bear. About Frankie and kandy. I am betting kandy and Ceeby's pups will be gorgeous. They are both about the same size and exact coloring. Kandy's nose is a little sharper. Ceeby has the button nose. I think that is one of the things that make Pumpkin so beautiful. She has her daddy's little button nose and big eyes. Her coloring comes from her mommy but that might change. i don't think it will tho. Just let me know if you decide to come earlier. When were you thinking?

nothing yet and she is acting a little puny. But if she doesn't have them tonight or tomorrow for sure then I think the first breeding must not have produced the puppies.

fraid not. I miscalculated according to my hubby (the know it all) I went by my yorkie calender and he went by his beagle calender and said she is due tomorrow if the first breeding took. Mostly she is doing okay. i thought sure this morning was it. She woke me up at four o'clock. Well, I thought it was her. Turned out to be the pug getting in bed with me. Then about ten, I looked in my bedroom and she was panting a little and lying on her side. usually when I step to the door, she comes to the fence (x-pen) so I got all nervous and ready. LOl But, sorry to say nada!!!!!!

I forgot if you already told me or not but did you have an xray done? Do you know how many she's having?

My vet didn't want to xray her. Said it is too dangerous but we think there are four and maybe five. She is so miserablee. puppies have gotten really sluggish yesterday and today too.

x-rays are much less dangerous than not knowing if you have a retained pup or a pup too big to free whelp.

Youre right....the unknown is worse than speculation!

The x-rays do not harm the mom or the pups, the danger lies in the unknown...it reveals the position of the pups, the size of the pups, development of the pups, diameter of the heads vs the diameter of the pelvis, whether it can pass safely through ...Its vital in every pregnancy to get an x-ray for the health of the mom and her offspring!

temp was 98.0 just now. we have a little discharge going on. She just ate like she was starved to death tho. She is right beside me and I have a feeling we will have puppies tonight. keeps my mind off Silk's baby. she left today with a wonderful family.

hi hun just keep us posted i keep thinking about you btw my dixie ate well the day she delivered so that always dont mean much lol she didnt vomit either but she was very klingy.. i will keep cking back just let us know
