Stud fee prices I have a couple questions for you if you breed: If you are a breeder, and stud your males, what do you charge? OR If you breed your female to a stud, what are you normaly charged? |
m2c! Umm, there is so much more that goes into this that is MUCH MORE important than the fee of the actually studding. The price range is substancial and in my experience it all depends on whether the stud is titled in anything and what health certifications you've done on your stud or the perspective stud that you're breeding to. If you have titles and/or health certificates, post them up and that would help. Otherwise, I don't know that you should be charged a thing or that you should be charging any money yourself. |
I'm only comparing notes from a breeder of champions all the way down to a hobby breeder. I'm looking for all , not just one or the other - as I understand they are going to differ. |
To answer your question, Breny...well, to give you one answer as I'm sure this is one that will have varying answers. I've never studded out or needed to, but I can tell you one breeder I have worked with studded a male out for $500..only paid if a litter was produced.:) |

i have studded my kirby 3 times plus my own with each litter having 4 girls and 1 boy (odd they have all been the same). he does not have champion blood line (who cares?? i know some people do....but he has great temperment, structure, coloring, beautiful long silky coat, perfect teeth, very healthy, smart etc...) akc registered and ..yada yada yada and i charge 400. now, i keep the female for a week. i do not send her home dailey nor do i just do 1-2 ties. how ever many ties they do in 5 days is fine with me as long as she goes home pregnant. |
I stud Stormi out and I get the pick of the litter even if there is just one pup. If no pups or they are stillborn there is no fee. I do know one lady here that charges $500.00 for her stud. |

We have studed our Gizmo out a few times.... He is 4.4 lbs, blue&gold, AKC, Champion sired, great pedigree, OFA certified on his knees, brucellosis tested and we charge only $400. The charge is due at the time of pick up and if no pups results the female is granted a free return stud service. All females coming in MUST be UTD on all shots and have a current negative brucellosis test in writing from thier vet. Help any? |

I have heard from 500.00 - 850.00 depending on pedigree and whether the stud is a champion/Specialied (has championship and still be shown to get National rating) or not - this is on a proven stud. Of course all testing and certificates are given and female testing on her too. A repeat breeding is usually always given free of charge if no pups produced from first litter. It is customary to breed and skip a day and then breed again. It is best - I have heard - not to keep breeding every day of that week since the sperm count will go down (younger males you do not have to worry as much about this). I have always taken my female in to the vets to find out what day is best to do the breeding. Of course - your main objective to find the best compatible male to your female. You need to her faults, so you can make sure the stud does not have the same faults. You also want to breed yorkies that are to standard - not jsut to get pups. Best of luck! T. |

WOWSERS! Prices down here use to be about $500. I only knew of one breeder that charged pick of the litter for stud services but after talking to a few breeders in town, that seems to be the going rate. Now, I paid that with my last litter and thus, my London came about. However, with these other breeders??? Nope...don't think so! |
Here it is the price of what you are selling the pups for ,or you can have pic of the litter.I have never taken pic of the litter,we have our hands full with what we got ,so we get the price of a pup.Cheaper if it is a singleton litter. |
