Akc AKC is not perfect by any means, but I perfer their rules and regs.. they have lost millions of dollars from of breeders when they started DNAing studs...few pet shops pups are now AKC because of DNA requirements. Almost no commerical breeders are AKC.. No other registeries inspect kennels and records except AKC, it is easier NOT the be an AKC breeder...but it is the best IMO..if no one is checking the breeder, then they can do as they please...good for some, bad for others..no worry about fines or suspensions.. |
I don't believe CKC registers non purebred dogs. They state that they register only purebred dogs and that if the dog is in question about whether or not he/she is purebred, they do look into it and will require testing to prove that he/she is purebred. And if your dog does not have previous papers they do require photos of your dog and require witnessness signatures atesting that the dog is purebred and the dog does have to meet breed standards and like I said if someone questions whether the dog registered is purebred, they do dna tests and such to prove whether it is purebred or not. I have seen alot of CKC dogs that were more purebred and matched the standard to a t than some that are akc registered. And they do have confirmation, agility, obedience, etc competition like other registries. I think it is all a matter of preference. I like AKC the most but I also like CKC as well. As for APRI I heard that they do have a special place for dogs that are not purebred but it is a special devision and dogs will not be considered APRI registered but something else??? |
