| Is my Lexie Pregnant??? How do I tell if Lexie is pregnant? I didn't know she was in her heat until one day she got on my bed and spotted on it. SHe was around Romeo all of the time before that. Actually I know they mated because that happened before I noticed the bleeding. After I saw the spots on my bed I checked her out and she was swollen. (Her first heat was light so she kept herself clean and had little swelling. He is 8 months...I was not sure that was old enough to breed. Anyway now...2 weeks later she is swelling on her tummy. I don't know when this heat cycle started but the spotting ended about a week after they got together and the swelling on her tummy and nipples has increased. My vet advises me to treat it like a pregnancy just incase but told me I would not know until later. I thought I would ask you guys on here because many of you have bred yorkies. Any help is appreciated!!!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | You vet stated truth. It is still too early to determine if she is indeed preggers. Your vet should be able to palpate her in a few weeks.

| Update...kind of...lol Well the swelling has increased on Lexie's tummy. We are not sure if she is pregnant or not but she is getting a little belly and her nipples and area are swelling too. I am taking her to the vet after i get out of my first day in college tomorrow to know more. I read it can be a false pregnancy and Romeo was only almost 9 months old but he developed faster than many dogs I have seen and so i don't know much except the vet said he wasa capable of breeding already. I guess we shall see...I will keep you all posted on her status. :-) ~Tru

| Here's a good link that tells the signs of pregnancy and the appropriate tests at the appropriate stages. http://www.debbiejensen.com/signs_of_pregnant.html |
