TSA-LA-GI- Glenda Beavers, Anyone Heard of Her? 2 Attachment(s) I'm going look at someone's house in Franklinton, Louisiana tomorrow evening. She raising Yorkies for pets and sells them $850 if I like the look of her dogs I'm going to get one. If not I'm thinking about this breeder. She has a lot of dogs which worries me BUT I found only only thing bad about her on the internet and I found multiple champions that she has shown. I know websites can be faked but I know that her dogs are champions. Her price is 1400.00 which included limited registration and shipping cost from Oklahoma to Louisiana. I know OK is prime puppy mill country but this lady has personally shown all over and her dogs are champions...other breeders have said good things about her on their website. She hasn't asked too many questions about me but I did tell a lot about myself before she asked anything so many she just knew? Anyway guys look at her site and tell me what you think. http://www.yorkieshowdogs.com/ I'm attaching a pic of the pup Proof at 3 Months and now at 4 months. |
Here's a link that someone purchased from her. You might pm them and see what their experience was. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...glenda+beavers |
I looked at her site, but it was after I had found Choco. I think she has some really nice looking yorkies, I like the look of most of them. The pup is super cute! |
There are lots of Tsa-La-Gi Yorkies in the YTCA mag. Lots of champs....nice looking dogs IMO.. |
She has some beautiful yorkies, sound like a great breeder. The pic you attached, he is a cutie. For four months he has a good coat |
ooohhh.... she does have some beauties. Good Luck! |
Hi, Glenda has very nice dogs. Steph's Ck ( starstruck ) came from her.....Its neat your in BR, I am in Zachary. Stay away from Covinton, LA until you check out the breeders there.......Trust me! Angie |
I've heard of her. A co-worker of mine has a little boy from her. He's had no problems to date. He's about 2 1/2 years old. I am looking to get a boy from her in months to come. She's located about 45 min from me. If theres anything I can do for you let me know. When I first emailed her she had invited me to come take a look at the pups without hesitation. I plan on going after I get back from my honeymoon. So If for whatever reason I don't mind going down there to see the pup in person for you or something like that. |
You guys are all so AWSOME! I really wanted Steph's pup (the son of Gambler) but my husband kind of put his foot down and said 2000.00 was too much for a pet. That if I wanted to breed or show that was one thing but it was just too much for a pet. When someone has set a price for their dogs don't think it's right to bargain with them for less. Especially when the dogs are of obvious quality. I'm a spender not a saver so I'd go ahead but it's going to be our dog and I want to make that decision together. We lost our Chloe together and we mourned and grieved together. My 6'2" husband was curled up in a fetal position crying his eyes out at one point that horrible night when Chloe got hit by the car. We were both just insane for weeks. That was our baby. So we need to do this together. Whatever dog I get I'm think of naming him Cypress. Maybe Cy for short because my husband won 1000 at the Cypress Bayou Casino the other night and came over where I was winning at Blackjack (I won 300) and he had all these black chips in his hand and said guess what, we can get our dog early! Is that tacky to name him that. I'm not stuck on it yet. Maybe Shooter since most of the money was won at Craps. I'll be really careful of the lady in Franklinton that is why I'm going look. And to appease my husband because her dogs are only $850. If I don't like what I see then I'm calling Glenda tomorrow to set up to purchase the pup above. I MIGHT HAVE MY NEW BABY THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!! :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
I heard of her. I love the face and conformation of her dogs. They are beautiful ! :D |
Glenda is a very reputable breeder . I have had the chance to talk with her . I will contact her when I'll want another puppy . |
You better make sure you check her out good, she was associated with Carolyn Buffington of GA, and Carolyn was selling a lot of sick yorkies. I see where Glenda and Carolyn are co-owners of TSA-LA-GI ON HIGHER GROUND. For a while there was information going around that they had dogs with ringworm and a lot of breeders were staying away from them. I don't know if Glenda is still associated with Carolyn or not, but Carolyn has a bad reputation now. She also sold the mother of my shunt puppy and then denied that her dogs had any problem. Also sold a sick pup to several other people. You can read about other sick dogs from Carolyn here http://www.yorkielane.com/BadBreeders/bad_breeders.htm |
Hmmmm. Makes me wonder. I emailed someone who'd bought a dog from her and she seemed very nice and said nothing but good things about Glenda. Perhaps the woman bought a puppy from Glenda and seemed legit but then she really wasn't. I'm just not sure. I hate this.....it shouldn't be so hard and stressful finding a good breeder without shelling out 2 grand on a pet. |
I've been talking with Ms. Beavers I've been speaking with Ms. Beavers for a while now. She is very legit. I know she takes her yorkies very seriously. The reason she would be a co-owner with Carolyn Buffington is probably because Ms. Buffington purchased the dog from Ms. Beavers and is showing it; therefore, Ms. Beavers will be the co-owner until it is finished. I do not know that for a fact though. In defense of Ms. Buffington ( I do not know her or claim to know anything about her) we can not believe everything someone says or claims. Just because someone says something does not make it true. IMO Ms. Beavers has been very patient with me and not mention kind. She also said I could come out and look at her yorkies. When I'm ready for my next yorkie I will definitely go to her. Treva |

JMO....I think that is a stunning, well bred pup and I've heard nothing but good things about Tsa La Gi and see nothing on her site to throw up a red flag. The dogs pictured on her site are good examples of the breed and I wouldn't hesitate to inquire about a pup from this breeder. |

She kept saying that she breeds for personality that all these show breeders breed dogs with no personality. So I don't know....right now I'm leaning toward Glenda, in OK, most people said good things. Her price is $1400 which includes shipping which seems more do-able especially since we'll have to pay a $300 pet deposit on our apartement which is non-refundable and I'm going to get the puppy vet checked no matter who I purchase a puppy from. Roger, my hubby, could tell the different though, Glenda and Stephs puppies looked better, had their ears up and had the cuter faces. This other womans yorkies had really long snouts which I don't care for. AHHHHHHHHHHH! And I thought it would be more stressful to have a baby than a dog.:( Going to make a decision by tonight. |
NO, the reason she is co-owner with Carolyn is because they were partners in breeding. Carolyn does not know the first thing about showing, she is strictly a breeder in it for the money. The problem with Carolyn is that the people that are saying it are the ones that shelled out 800 + and ended up with either very sick, or dogs that dies. You can email all the ones that complained. I was on lists with Carolyn for several years. I also have a dog that is a shunt pup from her line that put me back 5000.00 by the time we had her fixed. That many people don't make up stories, too many to NOT be true. Marsha's dog Lollipop ended up dying after suffering with ringworm, and parvo. The pup was ridden with fleas when she got her, as were others that got pups from Carolyn. Believe me, my shunt girl is a beautiful dog, she is actually the one that got me started in showing, but nice looking does not mean healthy. If you are going to purchase a puppy, insist on having the bile acid test done, at least that will show any sort of problem with the liver before you get toh dog. One thing good about Carolyn, she taught me a valuable lesson. I now test every single dog I get, and I also test every puppy I produce, even though the parents have already been tested. |
Contact by phone.... She may be reached better by telephone rather than email......just a heads up.....some people never read emails..... |
Saw one of her yorkies in Jackson show Quote:

I have found Glenda to be warm, friendly and extremely helpful. My male pup got very sick one Friday morning soon after I got him so I rushed him to the vet for treatment. The vet did blood tests and treated him for accidential poisoning but could never truly find out what made him so sick. She told me that, because liver shunt was so common in Yorkies, it would have to be considered and she set up the bile acid test for Mon morning. That was a hard weekend of waiting. I contacted Glenda and she was so sweet and supportive. She said that, if he did have a shunt, she would do whatever it took to make things right. Fortunatately, Deuce did not have a shunt but I could not have ask for anything more from a breeder. I purchased all 3 pups to show so I have since had them all bile acid tested and had knees and hips check on 2 of my puppies and Glenda had my male's knees tested before she shipped him to me. I would strongly recommend Glenda to anyone looking for a quality puppy and if I ever buy another one I will buy it from her. I know Carolyn Buffington by reputation only but I have only heard good things about her. I have a dear friend that has had business dealings with her and she said that her facilities are clean and her dogs gorgeous. |
