S & V Quality Pups = good? I have been talking to a woman from puppypetite.com about purchasing a yorkie she is selling for $550 i thought i found the perfect place but, after reading the horrible stories about Puppypetite.com on the older posts here I am defiantly not getting a yorkie there. I was about to head up there next week to get him. Thank god for you guys. :) Then I found S & V Quality Pups in Brooklyn which is just a few blocks away and found a few posts saying how good they are. I just want to make sure, has anyone recently purchased a pup there? And does anyone know the prices on their yorkies? I can go up to $600. If there is a better place to go around Brooklyn or Philly please let me know!! Thanks :D -Melissa |
not sure if i put this in the right place....sorry! |
check the better business bureau. i found romeo from a small breeder in the courier post (south jersey). across the river from philly prices can be much lower in nj. |
I bought my Napoleon from Quality Pups just one month ago. He is a healthy baby boy (teething really bad though) He is going to be a big one too. He is only 3 months and he weighs 5.2 lbs! Quality Pups is fantastic! Ask for either Vincent or Ivan and they will help with everything. I am not sure if you can bargain with them but I got Napoleon for 900. |
DO NOT BUY from them. I know someone who bought a yorkie from there who ended up super sick, and another one of her dogs had luxating patella's. After her first yorkie died, her second one had a ton of problems plus they don't feed them good food. They were feeding the dogs DELI MEAT, roast beef:mad: Trust me, stay away from pet stores, besides their prices are ridiculous considering the pups health.:thumbdown   |

People say such good things about them but all they are is a petstore they have big dogs little dogs no good breeder would sell there puppies in a petstore and theres no way he breeds all those breeds and there all heathly jmo to above ^Cesar's is Terrible food |
My breeder at quality pups only bred my dog and a few others, not ALL of them. The only two types of dogs at the place are malteses and yorkies so can somebody please explain to me how this is a pet-store? btw why is cesars so bad? |

Hey sorry about what I wrote, I didn't mean to get all defensive but I really thought s&v were good people. I may be wrong but I know a few agree with me on this forum. I didn't know Eukaneuba and Cesars was TERRIBLE? why is it so terrible? |
The ingredients are not good, as is the case with foods like Pedigree, Eukaneuba, Science Diet, Bil Jac, and Iams. They use a lot of byproducts instead of WHOLE foods, such as Chicken byproduct, instead of Whole Chicken. Or they'll use a lot of corn or chicken fat, which isn't good for the babies. Plus most of the ingredients are not natural or organic. Corn causes itching in dogs because they can't digest it and they are allergic to it. The better ingredients are more at the bottom of the list which means there is less of those as opposed to the bad ingredients which they use a lot more of since they are at the top of the list. Innova is a great natural/organic food for dogs with fresh veggies and fruits mixed into kibble which has rice and whole meat. Let me know if you have any questions about food. I've become an expert since I got a yorkie. It's ok, we all get defensive when it comes to our babies. I'm sure Napoleon will do just great, but you would have been the lucky one. After I saw what my friend had to go through and still has to go through, it break my heart. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through that at all. |
Yes i know what you mean. I would rather be sick a million times than have my puppy or anyone else in my family be sick |
s&v quality puppies? i just got a yorkie from s&v quality puppies.. did i make a bad move by gettin my dog from there? i really hope i dont run into problems.. help |
If anyone is considering buying from them please go to the following thread and read post #10. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...v+quality+pups |
I can only tell you my experience with S & V Quality Pups. I got my Maltese from them ten years ago. They did not breed her. They brokered her. They also lied to me big time. I adopted Emma at probably the worst time one could, while I was grieving the loss of my Yorkie of 15 years. They saw me coming! I told them I wanted a small Maltese. They showed me Emma. They told me she was 2.5 pounds at 16 weeks. They assured me that she was going to be a tiny. They charged me quite a bit more than they would have for a larger dog (over $100.00 ten years ago.) I fell in love and I adopted her. I took her to my vet and he went crazy. She was probably closer to 10 weeks than 16. Needless to say, she grew much larger than they said. She's now over 10 lbs. There are also some doubts over whether she is purebred. Of course, I love her to death no matter, and am happy that she's healthy (the most important thing!!!), but I paid a premium for something I didn't get. I was taken!!! :thumbdown |
