Thank you..... the tiny one keeps dropping temp and I've been trying to get it up..... I do and then I put her back with mom and she drops again. I will just have to keep by her side and hopefully we can get through this. I've got the room cranked to 85 degrees and still trying to keep them warm. I'm afraid to fall asleep for more than an hour so I've been up since lord knows when...... getting a little cranky.

Hey Tashasmom..... was wondering about your pups..... how are they? I know you recently had a litter you were nursing.... are they OK? You might have written an updated tread but I haven't read it. just wondering.....

It was a cleft pallet puppy. His name was brody. He didn't make it.
I was wondering if maybe you could try putting her in a box with a heating pad away from the mom. Something confined and warm. Maybe that might help keep her body temp more regular. If not you could put a bag of warm rice by her to help as well. You could put that and a stuffed animal for her to snuggle up with. She may not be staying close enough to mom to keep her body temp up.
I really hope your girls make it. I know how hard it is to work so hard to keep them alive. I am praying for you.

Thank you.... and yes.... I do have a heating pad and also a lamp going. Mom is too hot so she won't stay in the pen.... but I need to keep it between 85 to 90 degrees..... but I am right next to them 24/7.... not leaving for anything... maybe to get water and stuff..... I look and feel like a bag lady. I've never lost a litter before and I'm trying to fight to keep them alive.
Thank you for your thoughts..... which is why I love YT so much. THere's just a great support system here.....

I feel so bad for you. Do you not have anyone that can come and help you? You are going to have to rest at sometime and it'd be nice if someone could come and sit with them for you while you do. I know poor linda (lkdolls) felt like her eyes were gonna dry up and fall out lol..I did it with one pup for 13 days and I thought I was gonna die. I dont' see how I got through 4 kids when they weree infants and up every two hours.
Just try to remember you are doing all you can and that's all you can do. It's so nice to hear that there are breeders that care like this. I've heard so many horror stories of how breeders will just let them die without even trying. I think you are doing a great job..and you get :thumbup: :thumbup: from me.

Thank you so much. But I just can't leave them anyhow. I am the only one who will care for them properly and if they go..... I will know I did all I can for them. I am lucky to be able to be with them 24/7. My husband works long hours but he is great. He has been bringing me food and drinks cause he knows I won't leave them for a second. Forget about cooking....
Remember when you were a little girl and you prayed to GOD for a wish and you said if he gave you that, you'd NEVER EVER ask for another thing again...... that's what I am doing now........

God knows your heart. Make sure you do rest though..you need to keep your strength up for them. But i know what you mean. I didn't let anyone help me with brody because i wanted to make sure it was done the way I wanted. I slept on the floor right beside him every night. Well i tried to sleep lol..feeding every two hours doesn't leave much time for that. My family was really good about ignoring my grumpiness though. I think they for the most part steered clear of me the whole time lol..i got pretty cranky after a few days of very little sleep..one time I fell asleep feeding him. I felt so guilty but i was just so tired. lol..My husband and kids too took over the upkeep of everything for me. It also helped that they were on spring break that first week so they helped me with my youngest alot.

I am praying for you and your new babies. I've experienced what it takes to fight for the life of newborn puppy. I know there are no guarantees but I feel with your care and love these two little girls will do fine. Only one of my puppies survived and it will be four weeks tomorrow. Wish you the best.

you are being very strong for the pups right now, but you must get some sleep. i hope that your girls survive. have you taken any pics? i will be praying for you, the girls, and momma. keep us updated!
