Oh no the 'B' word..lol Yes folks I'm gonna say it...BIEWER!!!!!! Seriously, I do not want to feel that I can't say what I feel about Biewers. My intentions are none other than to educate. Just because some of us may not agree on EVERYTHING doesn't mean we should not be allowed to talk about them at any given time. I do not want to fee like there are any hidden motives or jabs. If someone wants to question me feel free. And I would hope Sue and Rini and whoever else has Biewers can feel the same way. I NEVER NEVER intend to put anyone down. In fact, let me go back and address something. I do not consider Sue's Homer to be a mix. I will admit I wasn't sure if he was or not but now I understand why Germany allows this. I have my agenda as to how I want to introduce them to the US and I now will accept the fact :D that not everyone will agree with me. But I will continue to talk about Biewers so look out..lololol. Oh, and I will be going to the IABCA show, in KY. I dont' want anyone including myself to feel uncomfortable there. I want us all to have good time and enjoy the weekend!! I wanna call a truce :D Hugs, Irene :animal-pa |
Girl, post away about those adorable babies! I love reading about them. Yours and many others on here as well! :) |
I was not here for the early discussions on the Beiwer dispute, but I have read enough to know who thinks what, and I have my own opinions on the subject. I do believe that the controversial discussions have made us all grow a bit, so therfore are not all bad. Have fun, I wish I were going too. I'd love to meet some of you. do you all carry signs so you can find one another. or just wear big red hats. |
I really don't care anymore. I don't own one and probably won't anytime in the near future from what I can tell. I used to get excited about seeing their pics and reading about them, but to be quite honest I am so sick of the "biewer" debate/argument/disagreement/issue/subject/made for tv movie that I honestly just don't care anymore. If their Yorkies, fine, if their not, start a BiewerTalk.com. or post in the Brothers/Sisters section. This is YORKIEtalk. |

Yep, this is YorkieTalk and since Biewers originated from yorkies in Germany, I see no reason to not discuss them here. I DO hope to have one in the near future, so I don't mind reading the good, the bad and the ugly, concerning them. I also love love love parti colors. (Rini...you know this) and I like things that are not always the "norm". Love my standard yorkies to death, but I do have an open mind. So if you post it about Biewers, I will read it. :) |

I enjoy learning about the Biewers also. I also believe that I've seen numerous posts about dogs other than yorkies. I'm guilty of posted about trying to find a weimaraner for my mom. I know this place is supposed to be strictly about yorkies, but there are so many people here with a wealth of dog knowledge. If I were to say get a maltese or something I would not hesitate to come on here and ask a question for it's sake if it were to become sick or something. |
Well I love Biewers--and I will have one very soon! :D And I love to hear about them, to read about them, and to look at them! They are beauties! I love the discussions and the debates, til someone gets ignorant about it! Look at it this way! I want to keep hearing about them! And learning about them! I love learning! And I will never get enough. But for those of you who don't care about them--IGNORE the thread and go read about something else!!!!! Its very simple! Why get soo worked up! JMO! Please--to all who have biewers--please keep your posts coming about them! I enjoy them!!!! I Don't usually post in this section..Because I am not a breeder and I will not pretend to know about breeding, but I had to say my piece about this! |
Girl, post till your heart's content! i love ALL yorkies and EVERYTHING that is yorkie related, i know zero about the Biewer, all i have seen about them is pix and im honest when i say I WANT ONE in the future, i have never seen one here in tulip city! I have never seen anyone getting annoyed when people talk about the Maltese breed, so WHY on earth get heated up over the Biewer threads  beats me  Anyhow, just want to tell you... go ahead, you have my blessing :p |

Since so many yorkie people love Biewers .....and many people really don't know about the breed ....I think the info is great here about them....I LOVE reading about them and especially seeing their pictures...I doubt many of us would even know about this breed if it weren't for yorkie sites. |
I love the look of them. I knew nothing about them until I came here. and thats when I saw pictures of them. They are beautiful. It does not bother me one way or the other that they are talked about here. I love looking at them. |

I wasn't on YT for the debates that I keep hearing about but I don't have a problem reading about biewers. I hope to have one someday. Besides, it seems that there are many discussions that go on around here that are unrelated to yorkie (or dog) issues anyway. So what's the big fuss about? |
There really is no "fuss" . It's just that some people like to make mountains out of mole hills! ;) I discuss anything that I feel worthy of discussing. And I try to be nice about it even if I don't agree. Biewers are a part of the yorkie world. There's no reason to not discuss them here. (broken down for better "quoting") |
show Irene...please take alot of photo's for us...I love to see all the Biewers..and parti's.. |
Yes , Irene , take a lot of pictures , I love to see Biewers . |
I just sooooooo envy you for getting to go to something like that. I wish we had something in our area. We have several new convention centers, in the Omaha area, so maybe we'll get something soon. |
I love Biewers and I don't mind to read about them and see pics. I think that is how we all learn. I never knew about them until I saw a pic on YT. So all I say is keep posting pics and info about them. Irene, Please take lots of pics and have lots of fun. |
I had never heard of a Biewer or parti before I came to this site, and I think they are fabulas! I look forward to learning more about them, so please keep posting and showing those pictures. I really enjoy them! Daisy and Cindy, my furbabies give them 3 thumbs up!   |
I also had never heard of such a thing until I had been here for awhile. At this point, I am planning on going to the "big show" to see them in person. I live very near lexington. |
You know what I love about the Biewer thread? One day if all the moons, suns and stars are just right we will all be sitting at home watching the top AKC dog show in the U.S. and out will walk a Biewer for the 1st time. It will be so exciting and thrilling to me because I got to be a part (small, tiny, flea size part) of this new breed through YT. Not many people are ever allowed to see (okay read) about the development of a new breed of dog and hear first hand how all of this has come about. You ladies have allowed all of us to see what it takes and how much work goes into the making of a new breed of dog, how incredible. It is like a backstage pass and I for one would be very disappointed if you all stopped posting here. |

Irene I am glad you posted this because I really hope that the controversy about the Biewers can be squashed and that everyone can agree to disagree. It is completely understandable that disagreements arise.....they arise out of the passion the breeders have over these beautiful dogs. I myself am a Biewer owner and aspiring breeder and know that I have a lot to learn. Because of that I read all of the information I can, research the different sides, and then form my opinion. Even after I have formed my opinion, I continue to read the posts from people with different views because it is never too late to learn new information that will completely change my way of thinking. I want to do what is best for my dogs and the breed and therefore will never hesitate to put aside my pride and correct my way of thinking and the methods I am following. I am also glad to see so many posts from those of you encouraging the posts about the Biewers. While most wish to see the Biewers established as a separate breed in the U.S., the "breed" was developed from Yorkshire Terriers and therefore I never even stopped to think that posts regarding them would not be welcomed on this site. I don't own a standard Yorkie (but hope to add one to my family one day) and found this site while researching Biewers. Of course I became addicted to YT immediately and fell in love with the "family" here. When the posts debating whether Biewer discussions should be allowed on this site started to pop up I became rather upset. Whew....it was nice to say that as I have been holding it in for quite some time. I apologize for getting a little long-winded on this one...... |

I am glad that you furthered your research to find that Homer, Harmony and Kendra are just as much Biewer as the rest. That there is a proper methods to breeding the Biewers and it is all about fitting the standard. Breeding is still very tricky with this young breed and as I have stated before we can look to the German's experience to continue to do it correctly. Yes, everyone that has been interested about this breed as probably read every post that has been about them and will continue to read them. I personally think whether everyone agrees or not on what is or isn't we can all agree that they are a spectacular little dog. Years will determine where this breed comes into play with AKC, but in the meantime we can all work on building and developing some of the prettiest little Biewers here in the US. I think it is safe to say that both Irene and I are very very Passionate about the Biewer breed. I know this last sentence is going to make some of you chuckle as I am right now with typing it. :) If the posts about the Biewer breed has offended some of you I too send out my apologies. I have spent almost the last 3 years in researching this lovely breed. I wanted to know as much information about them. I started with where they came from, to the first off spring, health issues, the effects of the pie bald gene, proper breeding, ect.. I have emailed as many breeders I could find in Germany and I have found out that they too have the problem of getting together for this breed as well, I feel that some of this has spilled from that cup onto us here into the US. But we must find our own comfort level with our German mentors and go from there. I might add I am still learning about the breed. Sorry that I too have such a long post as I feel it is very important for everyone to know that I hold no grudges. Irene I have told you this in several PM's this is just not my way of doing things. I DO NOT have hard feelings towards you or anyone that I may not agree with 100% and that I feel everyone is entitled to his or her opinions. If the Biewer talk offends anyone maybe we can suggest to Admin to give us our own little spot like they did with the Nursery. So we can discuss our feelings there constructively. Just a thought. |
I too would like to know more. I never even seen a biewer til I came to this forum. I think they are adorable no matter where they came from. |
I think that having our section for Biewers would be a great idea and I hope Admin thinks so too. I can't make the Lexington specialty show (great work getting that arranged Sue), but I have offered IABC to assist them in finding a new location for Southern California. so maybe we can have a specalty show in the fall as well here in Southern California. I want to read the good, bad and the ugly about Biewers. |

It will probably forever be debated whether a Biewer is actually a Yorkie or it's own breed, afterall, that's what has caused so many of the arguments on YT itself. I would think that if it offends those people that think the Biewer should not be listed as part of the yorkie site at all, that a Biewer section within the site would be a perfect way to solve this dispute, at least for this forum. Then the Biewer threads could be moved to this section and anyone wanting to read about them, could and those who can't control the urge to blow up when reading about them, can stay away. |
