| I do not use dog shampoo on my yorkies.. I experiment alot with the nicer brands of shampoo and conditioner that we use.. I personally love to use the Redken Extreme.. I NEVER use flea shampoo or any kind of flea repellent on my dogs.. We have never had a flea issue, but I have purchased a dog or two with fleas and Dawn Dishsoap (Blue/original) works great.. Just shampoo them in the Dawn Dishsoap and it will kill the fleas.. Also do not ever use any kind of flea repellent on a pregnant or nursing female..

| First of all do you have fleas? If you do, the Zodiac spray is great for your house and rugs but be very careful not to get any near your dogs. Follow the directions on the can. There are other products out there that are safer but do not work as fast as the Zodiac products. Next if you do have a flea problem now you may also have tape worms, and you will need to check with your vet to help you with this problem. It is very important to be flea and worm free for the health of your dogs and new puppies. Using a flea product on a dog that does not have fleas is not a good idea as the flea products may be a bit drying to the skin and coat. Using human shampoos can do the same thing sometimes as they are not PH balanced for dogs and if you are not careful can burn and blister the dogs eyes. Dawn dish soap does work pretty well for killing fleas, just make sure you get it all rinsed out and you do not leave any on the nipples for the puppies to nurse off of. Four pounds eleven onces is very small, I hope eveything goes well for her. Dray www.sumtoiyorkies.com |

(Don't you think this would have been very crucial to know and consider BEFORE she was bred? ) | |

| Well now it is time to help the mom have thoses puppies!! I will say a prayer for you both and the safe delivery of the puppies. I do not like to say that anyone is wrong but like I said the Zodiac products are a bit harsh if you do not have a problem with fleas, find a gentle shampoo and conditioner and be sure to rince well. I have been a groomer for at least 25 years and I have trained many groomers . Sometimes groomers just get stuck on a product that they like and it is not always the best for every dog. Good luck with your new pups and be sure your vet knows they are on the way in case she may need a section. Dray www.sumtoiyorkies |
