I know. this is a first for me with 7 in the oven. never have i been expecting this many babies. I want this over for her too! Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. Right now we are just relaxing, listening to some soft music. She just ate a HUGE meal of chicken, puppy food and carrots/peas. She isn't due until the 3rd which is Friday from today, but anything could happen between then and now. My main objective is to keep her comfy and pampered between now and then. :) |

Oh wow!! I hope everything goes well!!! Mine just had 6 and that last week she was soooooooo pitiful. She would roll over on her back, then couldn't get herself turned back over w/out me helping her. LOL. She also couldn't go down stairs to the backyard, or get back up them. I had to take her out the side door that has no steps. :rolleyes: My biggest worry, besides her just being able to have them was IF she could even reach down there to clean up a new pup. I was prepared to do the umbilical cord myself on the first few til she could reach herself, but she didn't give me time! She grabbed the pup w/ her mouth and Pulled it up towards her head so she could reach the cord. SCARED ME! With one pup, it was feet first and stuck. I grasped its hiney and gently turned it a Little. She then delivered it. again...SCARED ME! lol! Good luck!! I'll say a prayer that all goes Great. :) |

Robbie, do you put your mouth down close and talk to the babies? I LOVE to do that even though they are not supposed to be able to hear til they are 28 days old after whelping. I sing little nursery songs too and bless their little hearts, if they can hear they are my captive audience and just want that awful noise to go away. BTW, how many ties did she have?? No real reason for asking except curiousity! Give her smoochies from Rini's cuties...Whispersmom |

No quacking, though, right? I bet she doesn't go til next Friday.. Too many babies and that poor uterus is stretched to the max..Will you be home with her all the time during this whelping and nursing? I would hate to miss any part of it.. |
p.s Have you bought your goat yet??? You are gonna need one, you know?? Sorry, I just had to say that cause I am sitting here imagining a Yorkie mom with enough puppies latched on and she looks like an octopus..So maybe they can latch on to the goat, instead..It could be an assembly line. Goat feeds, mom pees and poops and hooman mom cleans up the mess.. |

Oh, gosh, I am so sorry you have to be away. I know that will 'bout kill you! It will be impossible to keep your mind on anything but your baby. What will you do if she has started whelping during the night? Can you call in and take the ime off or will you still have to go to work? Maybe we could write a note to your job like parents used to do to the teacher. Do drive carefully and try not to stay on the cell phone too much. Your head will be in a whirl the whole time you are away from her..And she will be waiting for her mommy. Did you cook the egg the way she usually orders it? Maybe she wanted it over light and the yolk was too hard. I am yoking!..seriously, her temp might take a sudden nose dive and delivery start. I know you have all of the bedding, towels, heaters, clamps, scissors, suctions, and most of all, a lot of friends to help hold babies all lined up. Wish I could be there to share in the excitement... |
oh my goodness!!! SEVEN?? Robbie!! that's great news<3<3 i didnt know you were expecting a litter, i must've missed that, but i hope everything goes great for you and mimi and the babies. SEVEN?? at least its a lucky number?? thats soo many little yorkie butts, you must be going crazy thinking about it. Just remember we're all here wishing you the best<3<3 Please keep us posted- feb. 3rd is sooo close!! I hope you decide to post the xray in the yt nursery. congrats and i cant wait! im so excited, you'd think it was my dog having the puppies... |

Holy Cow Robbie! 7 puppies, that is a BIG litter! I will be saying extra prayers for Mimi, that was my Mom's name, so I'm especially rooting for her. With 7, do you think that your going to have to supplement her feeding the babies? I couln't imagine her having enough milk to keep them happy, that's going to be a site, 7 happily eating away! I'm going to keep watch on this one. YOU GO MIMI!... |
Robbie, I think you may need the "Margarita conversation" after Mimi delivers 7 pups! We are counting down the days! But first a fast and safe delivery for Mimi and seven precious new "butterflies"! |
