Yes, I do. She is the sweetest little thing! I got her from Michele at BellaCane. She came form Germany and she has descendants (spelling?) from the Freidheck line. She is absolutely wonderful and beautiful. If I can figure out how to post pics here (or in other words get my hubby to do it) I will put a picture of her up.

Did Mr. Biewer originate the Freidheck line or does his line have a different name/pedigree? I am just beginning to learn this breed.

Next question: Why is there so much conflict here? I see everyone saying they want this breed, biewers, to be the best and reflect/trace back to the original origin. Am I missing something here?

Or is the name of the breed "true biewer" like cairn terrier; and german could be substituted for "true". IMHO this would be a more accurate name.

Again, no flaming would be appreciated. I am trying to understand this.

I just sent you a message and didn't see this before. I am with you, still learning. All I know is that someone here said that if you could trace your Biewer to the Freidheck line it was a "true" biewer. No, I don't think that "true" biewer is a name like cairn terrier. I don't know why there is such controversy over what makes a Biewer authentic and what dosen't. As a new "greenie" here, it all seems silly to me. All I know is that I consider Zoe to be a ''true" biewer.

Biewers are sure beautiful.......really.........but they are not yorkies.

They are a different breed.They originated in Germany and who doesnt love them but they originated there. What is the hurry to accept them here?
The American yorkie has a parti yorkie, who had a heck of a time being accepted into the standard AKC yorkie breed for many years.. These dogs were bred here, and were considered a mutant of the breed for a long time. Some breeders destroyed them because they were not standard, sad but true.

All I can say is that on 5 different registries that I have seen used for the Biewers each and every one of them says:

Biewer Yorkshire Terrier :confused:

I'm not quite sure that I understand this post? :confused: I have been interested in the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier since I first found out they existed. Since then, I have been doing a lot of reading and "semi-researching" to understand the breed a little better. Thus, I have been reading all the "Biewer" threads and trying to suck up any knowledge that I can. I realize that they "originated" in Germany -- and I also know they "originated" from a Yorkshire Terrier. The name from the German Registries and Clubs I have found call them "Biewer Yorkshire Terrier ala pom pon." So, to me, it seems like they are Yorkshire Terriers that have acquired their color characteristics through recessive gene breeding. Research tells me that in Germany, they are considered their own breed -- and do not compete in the Yorkshire Terrier breed class until they go up against other breeds in the "Toy" class. When, and if the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier gets accepted into the AKC, I would assume this to be the case here as well. I hope that I am not going to "stir things up" again, as that doesn't seem to be productive in helping people learn about these dogs. I am not trying to re-start any debates -- just trying to understand a little better.

I just didn't understanding the part regarding "your country is being sold to the highest bidder." Unfortunately, our country is based on capitalism, and the only time that I see problems with introducing this wonderful Biewer Yorkshire Terrier breed to this country, is with the unethical breeders who are only "in it" for the money, and refuse to research ALL aspects of the breed, be it the genetics, color and health issues or problems that may come out "after" the unethical breeder has been paid, and spent the money -- and we have yet more doggies with genetic problems.

Very true. They have evolved and now are a breed of their own. IF they were just a Yorkie they would be competeting as a Yorkie. The problem is the name "Yorkshire Terrier" is attached even though the breed is separate. It's a new breed, things will be ever changing for a while.

But to breed them to Yorkies now doesnt' make sense. Some have said you need to do this for color and health reasons. But that would only hide those issues. How about if a Yorkie line has LS or bad stiffles? My goal is to eliminate those issues. I run a tight program with my Yorkie I will run an even tighter one with my Biewers. I will not sell anything for breeding until I have produced several generations of healthy pure Biewers. If I ever come across something that requires in my program, 'breeding to a Yorkie' as some say, the ethical thing to do is eliminate it from my program by spaying and neutering the parents(s) that produce them.

What will happen is that I will lose money and start over but I am prepared for that. Be it my Yorkie program or my Biewer program.

I hear all this concern about health but the guarantees I've seen are only good for a year. Hmmm....
