Perfect example of the breed I was just curious what you breeders consider a perfect example of the breed? My first dog Chachi is not a good example of the breed. He has a cotton coat, hes over the standard in weight , and he has severe allergies to where he takes all kinds of medicines. My second yorkie seems to be a better example she has a silky coat, shes within the standard on weight, she has a straight backline. Also are allegies genetic? My breeder prided herself on her dogs but Chachi has such exteme allergies he will probably be on medications the rest of his life. |
I pick...and I might add there are far too many to name.. Ava Tryee's Wyatt and her new one..Sure Shot Nealstar's Texas Ranger is very nice. Groveshire has a great boy..Fury Love Paddington's boy, Beau One of my favorites will forever be...Ch. Cuddles De Alexander.. |
I just had a question on chachis allergies. Peawee had to be rushed to the vet the other day. It was due to allergies and his eyes swelled up and he broke out all over and he was given a steroid shot. The vet said that she would never give him a shot again because its to hard on him and he would have to start taking meds. Did Chachi have breakout like this and what kind of med. is he on? Is it a daily pill? Any info you could give would be helpful. Thanks |
allergies If I had a Yorkie with this type of allergy I would go to a vet who specialized in allergies and change the diet. I had a grooming client who kept hers on shark fin and it cured her..she was taking cortizone by mouth and was so heavy..bloated etc. |

Chachi ...Sorry to go Off Topic but....I have a friend who's little yorkie has severe allergies too and they tried a ton of different meds - She's now 6 years old - do you want to talk to her to see what worked and what didn't ? She may be able to give you some help with this - Bless Chachi little heart - being itchy is an awful feeling... |

Thanks. I feel like at my wits end also. We found out that it is in his shampoos and household cleaners, perfumes etc. Its really hard knowing which things to use anymore because of his allergies. He has to go back in to do more testing but he was so miserable when I took him in last they didn't want to bother him. |

Hi, I'm Villette's friend. I have the six year old yorkie, Gracie. She was on the steroid shots and the Prednisone pills and other types of steroid meds for years. These only help for a short time. After a while, they started causing bad side effects. The worse one was her losing control of her bladder. So, our regular vet sent us to an allergy specialist in Houston. Gracie is off the steroids, her skin looks really good, and all she gets is an allergy shot once a week. It takes about four months of shots before you start seeing the results but can take as long as a year. I am so glad we went to the specialist. And Gracie is not itchy anymore. I highly recommend an allergy specialist. If anyone has any further questions, please feel free to ask me, as I wish I had someone to ask when we were going through all this. I will be glad to answer any questions I can. Jamie |

[QUOTE=YorkieRose]I pick...and I might add there are far too many to name.. Ava Tryee's Wyatt and her new one..Sure Shot Nealstar's Texas Ranger is very nice. Groveshire has a great boy..Fury These are all good representations of the breed. I would have to add BIS BISS AM/Can CH Rothby's Renee'Gade and BIS BISS CH Rothby's Reputation to the list. And, I MUST add my own BISS CH Exmoor's I D'Claire at Jo-Nel. Claire was the #1 bitch, #3 all breed, and #2 breed in 2004. Claire was recently bred to Wyatt. Another wonderful bitch is BIS BISS CH Exmoor's One Better. Monie was the #1 bitch for 4 consecutive years. You may see Claire at http://www.jonelyorkies.com Julie Jo-Nel Reg'd Yorkies |
[And, I MUST add my own BISS CH Exmoor's I D'Claire at Jo-Nel. Claire was the #1 bitch, #3 all breed, and #2 breed in 2004. Correction, Claire was #2 all breed, and #3 breed. She only lost to the #2 dog by 7 points. Julie |

That is Multi CH NicNak He's A Keeper, Bred by Laurie Hunter of Canada and owned by Markus and Beatte Campris in Germany. Julie |
I think all of the Nicnak dogs are stunning. I am not a breeder or a show person but everyone has a certain "look" that appeals to them within the breed. I will probably only ever have pets but I sure can appreciate a beautiful yorkie:) I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Goldenray, Blumoon, Loriben and Jonel yorkies. How nice to have experienced show breeders join our site.I am looking forward to reading your input. |
I am so so sorry, the above post should have read"How nice to have SOME MORE experienced show breeders join our site. My bad, I didn't forget about the ones we already have. |

Something maybe I should make clear and I am sure the other show breeders on here will chime in and agree. I want to clarify a bit about show breeders as I don't want others on this forum to think we only breed and sell show quality dogs. Egad I wish every pup in my litters were but they aren't. That means that while we are striving to hopefully produce the 'perfect Yorkies' we don't and will very carefully scrutinze a pet home for these puppies that we don't want to keep in our breeding program or anyone elses. They are not sold ever because of health problems. There may be faults of too small, too big, not a level topline we want, other conformation issues that this is not going to be show dog and therefore will be sold AKC registered with limited registration or if Canadian, Canadian Kennel Club with spay/neuter contracts. Yes, all puppies sold for pet from a breeder that is purebred, should be registered verifying authenticity of purebred status. The AKC and Canadian Kennel Club require puppies sold for pet to also hve their registration certificates to the new owner in a reasonably timely manner. Some breeders will require verification of spay/neuter certificate before the registration certificate will be processed and ownership transferred to the new owners name. As the buyer, you get a very nice pet puppy, health guarantees that hopefully will be honoured (check out your breeder regardless), your registrations for the pup in your name in a timely manner, and you should expect any advice, help etc you need for your new member of your family. |
