The Breeder Talk Section! Why It Is Here Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a reminder about why this section exists (or tell you for those that do not understand). It is for breeders (experienced and not) to share their experiences, learn from each other, help new members, and to have a place to talk about the lessons, joys, pain, heartache, and excitement of breeding yorkies! It is also for discussion on breeders and if you are not a breeder, you can also post questions for breeders here. Please be respectful. This is a place for questions and experiences and if you do not like the thread or the topic that has been asked/started do not respond. It is quite that simple. If you make a post that is off-topic it WILL be deleted. If you make a reply that is rude or a personal attack, you will be suspended and/or banned. The rules of Yorkietalk are just the same here, please remember them and if you have not reviewed them in awhile here is the link - Edited by admin to clarify [1/13/06] - Last edited by admin; 01-13-2006 at 12:08 PM.

| I would really like to think that the breeder's section will be dominated by those who breed or who are in their learning stage before whelping their first litter. That isn't what I have witnessed lately however. I am in my learning stage and it becomes quite tedious to attempt to sift through posts and threads to find the good stuff. I really hope the true purpose of the forum can be found again! Thanks!!!

Sorry, but I am really confused. The top post is what I originally thought this thread was for. Then a post I was participating in that was under Breeder, Groomer, Vet review area was moved here and I was told this is the place to discuss breeders.http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...5&page=2&pp=15 see #22 So, where do we (the non-breeders) discuss breeders and the qualities we look for and appreciate? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25964 Last edited by shelbysmom; 01-13-2006 at 11:22 AM.

I'm new to YT but I came to see if I could help and be helped. I have been breeding toy dogs (off and on) for 24 yrs. I have plenty of experience but you can never have enough. The day you think you know it all is the day you need to hang it up!

I think it is time to review this again. Lately there have been a lot of harsh words, hateful replies, and unnecessary rudeness. Let's please remember why this section exists and what it is really for. If you feel strongly about a certain topic and/or person please refrain from posting anything until you think about it. The old saying "think before you speak" can easily be translated to "think before you type" Thank You~

Breeding I was talking with a lady today.. about yorkies, I am in the process of finding a yorkie.. She had mentioned that if you decide to breed your yorkie that you can breed a father and daughter together .. IS THIS TRUE... and still be AKC Registered? would there not be defects in the line of breeding.. I am asking cause i don't know.. I hadn't thought of Breeding but, My hubby is looking into possibly breeding. the one we may purchase. Please if anyone can steer me in the right direction of knowledge.. I would appreciate it.. I would hate to purchase one and find out that it was a father and daughter issue that could cause defects.. I was told that this is to make sure that the breed is pure.. sounds a little strange to me. But, like i said, i am new in this area.. Thanks
