2 boy pups so far. She's very tired. Went to take her in for c-section as it took 2 hours 20mins between the 2. I got out to the car door and she delivered it in my hand!! :) |
Cool my girl went that long once but called the vet and said as long as she wasn't seeming distressed to give it time. And he was right |

She was up all night so I imagine she is pretty wore out today. I am praying everything went well. |
Hi everyone. Well after a long day.. We have 3 beautiful boy pups. There was a 4th but unfortunately he was born still born. He didn't have no water sac. 1st boy born at 12:50pm, 2nd boy born at 3:10pm. Then she stopped pushing and contacting so took her vet. They gave her oxytocin and sent me home. After an hour of it not working I took her to a different emergency vet. They carried out a few tests. They then gave another oxytocin injection which produced the 3rd boy which was the still born and he was born at 11:10pm (absolutely heart breaking moment). Then another oxytocin injection eventually produced the 4th and final boy was born at 11:50pm. The 4th boy is the smallest weighing in at 4.5oz. He seems very weak so we need to build him up and take lots of care of him. Mum and all 3 boys are now settled at home. I've just climbed into bed (finally) and my partner is doing the 1st night watch so I can catch up on some much needed sleep. Thank you all for all your help. I'll post photos in the morning (UK time) as it's 2am here now. |
Oh wow what a day so sorry you lost one :(. You would think the first vet would have monitored her to make sure it was working. Anyways thanks so much for the update. And yes you need some sleep. Look forward to pictures |
They scanned her and could only see one heartbeat but they just said that it was probably hiding behind the other pup? |
Congratulations on your new litter. I am so sorry you lost one little boy. I know the whole event must of been very stressful for you and the little momma. I pray that momma and babies do well and that you are able to get some much needed rest. |

Congratulations to poppy now she is a mother. Remember to keep poppy healthy as she has 3 baby's to feed. It's been a challenge with princess as to she decided she doesn't want to eat dog food. So I give her the pudding recipe on the sticky. I also make her liver and boiled chicken. That's pretty much what she'll eat for me! |
Poppy's been eating boiled chicken and rice ATM. She is loving it and can't get enough. All 3 pups are doing well and the last pup to be born is now feeding from the boob. He even finds it himself which is fantastic. Was really worried about him. Turning the laptop on now so I'll post some photos very shortly xxx |
