Any good breeder of any breed tries to breed up to create a carbon copy for their particular breed. By following the so called breed standard many breeds today have been reduced to a figment of the ordinal creators imagination. We are seeing more and more purebreds with more health problems than ever before. Who's to blame? The show people, the over zealous breeder that claims only to breed for the betterment of the breed? Whatever the case maybe, purebred dogs and their owners are the ones suffering today for the misguidedness of many.

It's not the over zealous show breeder that is to blame. It's the indiscriminate backyard breeder who breeds without thought to the overall health and well being of the breed. The quest to get the tiniest or the "whatever-est" by people who have neither studied genetics or the health lines of their breeding stock has resulted in many of the sick dogs we have today. Those less than ideal dogs are then bred to other less than ideal dogs to create mutts that now carry the faults of both breeds.

Breeding ANY Merle to Merle is not only dangerous for the pups, it's highly unethical.

I am one of the lucky ones to have one of these hybrid dogs that (so far-knock on wood) has been totally healthy, but I also had him neutered at 6 months old and never, ever, had a single thought about reproducing more of him. He came from a byb friend as a gift and is my very heart, but I have never had any thought whatsoever about him being anything other than a mutt (albeit the most gorgeous, personable, beautiful mutt of ANY kind that was ever born...:D:D)

Um this is complete null rap, laughable, ludicrous and disgraceful as a Theory...and that's all it is a pipe dream and a theory...what lengths one will go to validate their own shortcomings, problem is this moneymaking greed is off the backs of the innocent pups.

Unfortunately, we here on YT are surrounded by some very unethical breeders. It's sad that so many of the really greats have been run off. I'm very thankful we still have a few greats around!

And then these "time bomb purebreds" are then sold and bred to other "time bomb purebreds", completely void of any genetic planning or forethought, and they produce exactly what we all should expect to be produced....catastrophic genetic time bomb "pure breds" that are the very reason articles and "research" has shown "purebreds are being produced with more and more health issues than ever before". The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of ANYONE that breeds ANY purebred, without a thorough working knowledge of the breeding pairs pedigree and lines, for at least 12 generations. Do NOT klame the show breeders and the experienced breeders that have spent YEARS studying and researching the different lines the strengths and weaknesses of each line, and their own breeding stock's pedigrees before breeding two dogs. WE are doing our dead level best to preserve the breed and the breed standard....which is why our stomachs turn and convulse when we see sooooooo many "ooops" breedings, and people buying rescue dogs and then breeding them to whoever has a dog of the same breed!

Furthermore, it has already been proven false...millions of pups bred like this are sitting, right now in cages doomed to a life of hell, millions more languish in shelters...and millions more will be gassed today, they will breathe the gas that will make them tighten their muscles, cry with fear, and choke to death as they gasp with the killing air...they will fall to the floor, their bodies then thrown in a pit with a mix of other pups....and sadly, this is freedom and more humane than what you and breeders like you can offer...you can't deny the truth dear...your truth is deadly...shame on you....don't try to unload the half of brain no conscience theory here...the people of YT know the reality of these pups...

Please take the time to watch this rather long video before making a comment about breeding purebred dogs. Since all our purebred dogs in this country got its start overseas, many came with the defected genes that this video talks about. People who choose to breed for health over the look of the show ring standard will correct this unjust that has been done to todays purebreds, while still breeding for the look of a revised standard .

Just because a person has AKC unaltered dogs & breeds those dogs, doesn't mean they SHOULD.

It's known here that you promote Merle to Merle breeding which causes blindness among other health problems & now you expect any of us to follow your recommendations?
