Is this the site where breeders are listed without even the breeder themselves having knowledge of it? If so how can you tell anyone that you "know" these are reputable breeders and to use your site? If you are going to run a site like this and advertise it on a breed lovers forum you should at least have the wisdom to screen the breeders you put on it and get "their permission" to put them there. Sounds like a lawsuit in the making.

OP please do your own research,there is tons of info on here about how to tell a good breeder from a bad. Sites such as vadzilla lull people into a false sense of security but really is just another craigslist, ebay classified, puppy find ect. The puppies sold on these mass listing sites are usually byb or puppy mill (I said usually because sometimes there is a good one hidden). If the maker of the vadzilla website really wanted to do something good for animals they would remake the site into an adoption or rescue search or maybe a search to find spay/neuter clinics in your area. Anything but another tool to find sick, poorly overbred dogs or cats.

Breeders listed in our directory all advertise on the Web. If they didn't want to share their information, they should not have put it on the internet, making it public knowledge. However, if they wish to be removed from our database, all they have to do is send a simple email request.

Thanks for agreeing with me - OP should do their own research. No animals are sold on our site - we only provide free information, in convenient, easy-to-use format. Coincidentally, we also have info on how to tell a good breeder from bad:

I find it very rude and unethical to use someones information without permission.

Kind of hard for them to do if they didn't know you were listing them in with all of the byb's , puppy mills and greeders.

And personally,I find it hilarious that you say they shouldn't have listed their info on the web if they didn't want to be listed on your pitiful site. Didn't you get po'd at a member here who found your info? Hypocrite much...

To the OP and all others looking for a pup: stay away from sites like the one being pushed here and others like it.

Start your research at the parent club level and work your way out. Really good breeders don't have any need to advertise through venues like that one. Their reputation and success comes from word of mouth and personal recommendations. They don't view breeding as a money making venture. It's a labor of love to make sure they are breeding only the healthiest and best representatives of their breed.

Backyard breeders and puppy mills, on the other hand, are only interested in the bottom line. They will sell on sites like kiji and puppyfind without any thought to what will happen to those dogs after the payment clears.

WOW! Thanks for all the help!!!!! I definitely wont be looking into that website. Im currently narrowing down on some independent breeders here in n. cali. wish me luck!

Not really. Making breeders' contact information more visible to potential customers through our site, when it was published by them elsewhere on the internet is kinda different from searching out our information and using it to accuse us of promoting puppy mills, or making toxic comments regarding our motifs, without any effort to understand what we are trying to accomplish. Once again, nothing prevents any breeder listed at Vadzilla from contacting us and requesting their listing to be removed. We had that happen in a dozen of cases so far, out of ~5000 listings.

They need to know that you listed them on your junk site before they can ask to be removed from your list.

They know they are listed, all breeders that are in our directory were informed by email. Of course if someone decided not to read it, we can not force them. Personal attacks and rude language is admittance of inability to argue intelligently. :)

You should check out this new site! It searches for breeders of yorkies in your area! It's new and exciting!
Just go to
www.ytca.org
and click on the breeder referral tab and find a breeder near you, with their permission even! Research, learn, find a healthy happy puppy near you. Best part is it's FREE! New and inventive this site has it all!
