Puppies not selling
 

We live in WA.
I have 5 puppies that are 13 + weeks old. I've had a few bites but then nothing comes of it. This is really the first time we have had more than a couple puppies to sell.
I have the puppies e-bay classifieds, in the Seattle times and on face book. I just finished my Yorkies In The Meadow web page.
So now what? I have lowered my prices. I keep updating pictures. We have 3 boys and one 2 girls ready now. We also have 3 more puppies that are 3 weeks old. We live in a very tiny town. I don't know if the price of gas is stopping people or what. The girls pretty much all came into heat one right after another. This was the third head for two of the girls and I didn't want to miss it.

I think its kinda hard financial times right now I know we arent buying anything major that we dont have to right now. I hope things get better for you and some future puppy owners come your way

Maybe it has also something to do with the kiddos are out of school and people go on vacation. I'm pretty sure it will pick up right after school starts up again, good luck in finding your puppies wonderful homes :)

This isn't the Yorkies for sale thread...this is sneaky, and personally this should be a pretty big sign that you should stop breeding....In my opinion...

It is a start, but there is probably much you are going to add to the site.

Parents - who are they? Are they AKC CH;s maybe even GCH?
Health - CHIC number for the parents- so folks can look up what specific health tests you have done.

Health Information on the Yorkshire Terrier Breed: For example what are the five most common health problems.

Diet/Nutrition

Training - What obedience or other titles do your breeding parents have

Training - for the YOrkshire Terrier - basic guidelines

Your health Guarantee

Your contract of sale

How about something about who you are? What your goals are with your breeding program.

What differentiates you and your puppies - in breeding of excellence?

I just looked on my phone so I don't know if it's any different online, but my observations:

1. I didn't immediately see that you have puppies for sale
2. The info you provide is not organized and is in one paragraph. I would suggest reformatting it with headers. I.e., History, Standards, etc
3. Your photos should be titled with the pup's name and a briefer description. At 13+ weeks you should have an idea of their personality

They are very cute. Does the one with the interesting coloring have the parti gene? Or is he just breaking silver and in that photo it looks like he is tricolor?

I'm not a breeder, but as a potential buyer, I would want to know who is the parent for each puppy (might have been said already.) Multiple pictures of puppies, personality, if you wee wee pad train or outdoors train. Pretty much the above covered most.

Yes I'm sneaky, ROTFLMAO.. not really though. I don't need you to tell me when I need to stop breeding. Thanx for your encouragement though!
I ask a question about some puppies in the I breeder section. Where would you have preferred me to have posted?? I thought some the breeders may have come across the same problem.

I checked your site and maybe it was in the big paragraph but I didn't see that information. I'll go back and check. Might be different on my mobile phone but I only saw pictures of digs at the bottom. I don't know who parented which puppy. It looks like more than two adults. No one is named. Well at least I didn't see the names under each parent.

I'm going to step in here because I KNOW what happened when you decided to become a contributing member nearly 2 weeks ago. (Yes, some of us have memories & you were more than mean in that thread that was deleted!)

"Asking questions" as you put it about your BUSINESS selling multiple litters really does put a bad taste in my mouth. Odd, I've not seen you post selling your pups in the correct forum.

It may seem to you (& others who read posts like mine) that we're mean. In reality, what we are is sick to death of trying over & over to be nice & having everything turned to look like you & others like you are the injured ones. The fact is, we care about the moms, dads, puppies so much that sometimes our blood and feelings just boil over.

The pups can't speak for themselves so someone needs to. So sorry if you get the impression people here are mean. It's all a matter of what is best for the pups to a lot of us.

All I can say is WOW . Did you not read my post, that I spent time on, in the generous thought that I could help out with your website?

And while I am not the most internet savvy person, I tried to click everywhere on your website and did not go anywhere! Your main page is the only thing I saw!

I can only get the first page - nothing else. No clickable links available on my iPad. If I was looking, I'd pass you by because there's no contact info, no puppy info, no parent info, no contract, no registration info, no guarantee, etc. available for me to view. :confused:

Thanks, I know it shows up differently on the phone. I'm not sure what to do about that.
I have headers, photos are titled with the adult dogs names.
I do talk about the different personalities, maybe I need to add more, or less you said briefer description?

Oh I think your babies are so cute :) I'm not a breeder but I have seen a lot of yorkie's for sale in my area They start advertising them for sale at 3 weeks not that they are selling them that young just interviewing folks and taking deposits. Some folks even advertise before they are even born and have a waiting list. I thought your website looked very nice But as far as advertising (just a thought) you might want to put them in the Sunday paper. I don't buy the daily paper I only purchase the Sunday one. Good Luck they are so cute.

We have had them in the Sunday paper a couple of times. We are not allowed to post a for sale until they are 10 + weeks old. We also had them on the E-BAY classifieds. We have lowered our prices two times on some of them.

I have a photographic memory and remember well the thread that was deleted...and I see that you went and cleaned up your website and your facebook....based on all the info "WE" gave you...I do remember the smooshy faces, teacups etc...mom's that were too little to breed and on and on and on...You do not have a sound breeding program, it is more than questionable, where I am concerned...and that's my opinion...you have a long way to go....

Amazing that you call anyone mean...you were so mean to Yorkiemom1 and Normarae, infact; you were downright insulting.

Glad to see your turning over a new leaf....now lets see the same in your breeding program, for the sake of the pups...THAT IS ALL I AM CONCERNED WITH.

I'm learning the ins and outs of where to post different things. Yes I became a donating member so I could list my puppies in the correct place. I'm sorry I donated a dime! Seems like no matter what I do someone is down my throat. My PUPPIES are just fine, why so judgmental? Ever heard of bullies? That's what a lot of you are. Think you are so much better than everyone else. Well thank you for making me feel like crap, good for you.

I looked at your website and after careful scrutiny of your dams and sires, and the pups you are offering, I don't see any pups that would interest me. Maybe this is the issue, rather than your website, classified, and facebook ads.


Speaking specifically to the statements above that are bolded/red. Yes, there ARE mean members here at YT, but you haven't encountered any of them yet. The members that you consider "mean" are simply giving their passionate opinions about a very touchy subject. Some members are just more eloquent with their posting than others :D.

Most YT members are here because we share a passion about our yorkies and the well being of all yorkies in general. When we see what we clearly consider poor breeding practices, we get our hackles up. I honestly believe that there are a few good breeders who choose not to prove their bitches and sires by showing/championing, but very few. The vast majority of breeders - and here I am speaking of AKC breeders - don't circumvent the established methodoligy in determining the breeding quality of their sires and dams. In plain talk, their sires an dams have proven themselves in the show rings and by rigorous medical testing.

I don't really think anyone wants you to leave, but what we do want is to help educate you on what is a logical, methodical, time proven technique to determine quality sires and dams. It is very frustrating to those of us who have resided at YT for many years to tackle this touchy subject day in and day out in our endeavors to promote the betterment of the breed.

REally and truly you epitomize the person, one should never, ever help out from the kindness of their heart.

I ACTUALLY thought on that post you were a sincere person and asking feedback for your website. Which is what I spent time on giving you. Such a stupid person I feel right now.
